Known Issues 0

This release of SuperLoader 3 V61 firmware has the following known issues:
Resolved Issues 3
Release Notes Document 5502229 Rev C February 2009

System 0

Code Update 0

PCR17902 — OCP Enable/Disable barcode doesn't give immediate power cycle message
When changing the barcode scanner configuration on the OCP, the user is not immediately notified that a power cycle is required. The user must hit the ESC key to get to the top level before the message is displayed. However, until the user power cycles, active operations from the OCP are not allowed.
PCR4564 — Firmware update fails with Firefox on Windows Vista 0
When performing a firmware update of the autoloader system code over the RMU, do not use the combination of the Firefox browser on the Windows Vista® operating system. The update can fail, but will not adversely affect the operation of the system. This has been observed using V43 and later versions. Tech Bulletin 6-01828-07 “SuperLoader 3 Firmware Update Fails with Firefox on Windows Vista” has been issued. The IE7 browser on Vista works without problem, and Firefox on Win 2003 works without problem. Other combinations of browsers and operating systems may be fine.

Remote Management Unit (RMU)

PCR17898 — OCP gives no indication that drive FW is being updated 0
While updating drive code over SCSI, the OCP shows “Updating Drive” if the OCP is at the top menu. If the OCP is at a submenu item, the message does not appear. Hitting the ESC key to return to the top level shows the “Updating Drive” message. The message shows periodically. While drive code is being updated, moves involving the drive are not allowed.
PCR17770 — DFU utility doesn't FUP from v53 to T60 SL3 for LTO3 or LTO4 0
On systems with Quantum LTO3 SCSI drives (v2023) and LTO3 HH SAS drives (v2076), when performing an autoloader code update over the primary interface using the DFU application versions 1.3.9 or 1.3.10, the code update will fail. To perform the update, use the RMU interface.

PCR17957 — Client Authorization Control - No error message for invalid characters and bogus address is saved
On the RMU page, Configurations->Security, under the heading “Client Authorization Control,” be sure that any IP address values that are entered contain valid characters. If not, the invalid characters will simply be ignored, and the remaining valid characters will be taken as the IP address. There will be no warning given to the user. This may or may not produce intended results for the user.
0
PCR17976 — RMU Client Authorization Control Reset button does not gray out/ Enable IPV4/IPV6 address fields properly
On the RMU page, Configurations->Security, under the heading “Client Authorization Control,” if the user chooses to reset the IP address fields, the user must press the “Reset”

button twice in order to see proper gray-out behavior of any fields under a disabled control address range.
PCR18052 — After enabling TLR from RMU library DHCP address set to 0.0.0.0 0
On the RMU’s Configuration page of LTO3 HH SAS and LTO4 HH SAS systems, when the user enables or disables the SAS Transport Layer Retries (TLR), the user is requested to power cycle the system. After power cycling, the user may be unable to connect a browser to the system if it is configured to use DHCP address assignment. If this is the case, one can use the OCP’s Status->Ethernet screen to check the IP address; it may be
0.0.0.0. If so, simply power cycle the system to recover the IP address.
PCR18216 — Setting static site local address to current router assigned mishandled0
With an existing static site local IPv6 address set, when setting the IPv6 address to a new site local address that is the same as the current router-assigned site local address, the new address is rejected without giving the user an error message that the address was rejected. Also, when the new address is rejected, the prior old static site local address is removed from the “Current Network Parameters” section on the Configuration page and is no longer functional. To restore this site local connectivity, either clear the IPv6 address from the RMU field and submit or enter a non-router-assigned address value.
PCR18376 — Unable to connect using IPv6 site and global address RH5.1 0
When using Red Hat 5.1, Firefox 1.5.0.12, or other browsers, you may not be able to connect to the SuperLoader 3 system. This is caused by the operating system itself directing network traffic to a virtual network interface. The failure is intermittent. Red Hat
5.0, Red Hat 4.0, and other operating systems work fine.
PCR17868 — Loses DHCP connection and gets "Software Error Type 50" and 0
PCR16961 — Unable to reconnect to network address, after several hours/days of testing
If the SuperLoader 3 system is on a network with hosts that repeatedly accesses unsupported ports, the SuperLoader 3’s network interface can lock up, and possibly get a “Software Error Type 50” message on the OCP. This is not typically done in a customer environment.
PCR18227 — Software Error Type 50 when changing from DHCP to Static IPv4 address
When using the RMU Configuration->Network page to set the IPv4 method of obtaining an IP address, if one selects DHCP and submits this, and then unchecks DHCP and submits a static IP address, and repeatedly does this sometimes up to 20 times, the network interfaces can lock and require a power cycle or autoloader reset to clear this up. In some rarer instances, up to 5 times can lock up the network interfaces.

Autoclean 0

PCR3928 — Autoclean doesn't start automatically on Quantum LT02HH (V1914) and LTO3FH drive (V1994)
The autoclean feature does not work on Quantum LTO2-HH drives running V1914 and Quantum LTO3-FH drives running V1994.

Host Environment 0

PCR9621 — Append Write/Read test failed during Write Filemark for 0B/4E/00 0
For the S4 FC drive with firmware version V41, the host computer’s QLogic® FC driver version 9.1.4.15 or later must be used. The driver version 8.2.0.10 has problems during writing of a filemark.
PCR17488 — SCSI: Persistent Reserve Out APTPL (once set) does not persistent across power cycle (universal, HPLTO4) and
PCR17487 — SCSI: Persistent Reserve Out register service action with APTPL bit set is rejected (universal, HPLTO4) and
PCR17475 — SCSI: Persistent Reserve Out requests indicating type 1 or 5 are rejected
HP LTO4 drives do not send persistent reserve/release commands on to the autoloader.

Windows Server 2008 0 When using Windows Server 2008 on a host computer to configure the RMU properly:

Open Internet Explorer and select the menu items Tools -> Internet Options.
Then select the Security tab.
Set the following Custom Security Levels for the Internet.
Under Miscellaneous, set Allow META REFRESH to Enable
•Under Scripting, set Active Scripting to Enable
When using Internet Explorer 7 on Windows Server 2008 to upload error logs, be sure to configure IE7:
Open Internet Explorer and select the menu items Tools -> Internet Options.
Then select the Security tab.
Select Custom Level and set the Downloads File download option to Enable.
PCR17874 — User with operator privilege can't access GUI IE7.0 Win2008 at 1st access
When using Windows Server 2008, on the Configurations/Security page under “User Administration,” if a user of type “Operator” is created, there will be problems when this user tries to log back to the system using Internet Explorer 7. The problem only occurs with this combination of browser and operating system. This occurs when the user opens a new browser. The user is presented with a login screen, and the login attempt will fail. To workaround this, cancel the login window, and select a page that does have operator access, such as the Command page. The login will succeed.
0
When connecting Internet Explorer to a system, a Log-In pop up window may appear. On Windows Server 2008, an Operator class user cannot login through this window. To login, cancel this window, select a page that has Operator privilege, such as the Command page, and login through that Log-In pop up window.

PCR17894 — GUI shows HTML code in frames IE7 on Win2008 0
When using a browser on Windows Server 2008, occasionally HTML text appears on the webpage. This text appears in the Status pane and on the main pages, usually during the autorefresh. Simply refreshing the browser remedies the issue.
PCR18020 — Windows 2008 does not detect SL3 with VS160 drive 0
When using a SuperLoader 3 system with a V4 or VS160 drive (any version) and Windows Server 2008 on the host computer, there are configurations where the SuperLoader 3 is not recognized by the host computer. The configurations that have no problems include an:
Adaptec® SCSI 39160 HBA or an
Adaptec SCSI 39320A HBA with an installed backup application from an ISV, such as Backup Exec.
