This manual is written for system administrators, operators, and field service engineers who need to find the product serial number for Quantum products.
This document describes how you can find the serial number for particular Quantum products. For your convenience, all products are presented alphabetically. It is useful for customers and service engineers who need to find the product serial number to open a Service Request or begin to diagnose a problem.
Notational Conventions
Note: This document does not provide any information about
Standalone Quantum products. If your product is not included in this document, contact Quantum service or send a note to Knowledge@quantum.com.

This chapter describes how to find the product serial numbers for Quantum products. The products are listed alphabetically:
Note: Where multiple letters or numbers appear in a product title
followed by a slash (as in 4/52 or AML 2/E/J), it indicates multiple products within the same family. For example, the AML 2 library and the AML E library belong to the same product family and follow the same conventions.
7100, ACL 2640, and 4/52 Libraries
This topic describes how to find the product serial number of a 7100, ACL 2640, and 4/52 library.
You can access the serial number through the Main Menu. The information is displayed next to the date on the Information Line.

AMASS
The serial number for AMASS is physically located on the front side of the media kit box. In addition, the administrator initially responsible for the software may have received the serial number through mail when he or she requested license information in the format S/N AM000123 (for example, AM023194).
Note: The serial number is not available through the AMASS
application.

This topic describes where to find serial numbers for Quantum AML library products
You can find the serial number by opening the front door of the Controller. The S/N sticker appears on the upper left side of the inside front door of the Controller.

Use this procedure to access the LCD.
1 Make sure there is no magazine installed in the autoloader.
2 Press and hold the Select button for five seconds.
3 Use the Select button to access the VERSION MENU.
4 Use the Select button to access the autoloader serial number.

The Data Manager product serial number is in the format S/N DM00123 (for example, DM01630).

You can find the serial number on the right side of the system at the rear.

1 On the host computer, open the Internet browser software.
2 In the Address field, type
https://IPaddress/ where IPaddress is the IP
address for the DX-Series system.
Note: This IP address uses https, not the common http and there is
also a special port (8098) that must be used. This address must be used every time the web pages are accessed.

This topic describes where to find serial numbers for the Quantum Removable Disk product GoVault.
Use this procedure from the GoVault User Interface on your Windows computer desktop to find the product serial number.
1 Click My Computer on your desktop.
2 From the My Computer screen, right-click the drive listed
Removable Disk. This is the GoVault disk.
3 From the GoVault pop-up menu, click Properties.
4 Click Status.
The serial number (JP0001Y) is the third item in the left side Bay column.

L200 and L500 Loaders
The location of the serial numbers of an L200 or an L500 is inside the chassis of the machine. For L200 units and rack-mounted L500 units, pull out the magazine and look on the floor of the library. For L500 units that are configured upright on the floor, pull out the magazine and look on the inner wall of the library.

LTO-2 Loader
This topic describes how to find the product serial number of an LTO-2 Loader.
Use this procedure to access the product serial number from the Operator Panel. From any menu, you can use the Cancel button to cancel the last action and return to the previous menu item.
1 Access the Information menu option by pressing Enter until that
menu option appears.
2 Use the Previous and Next buttons to navigate through the menu
items until you access the Serial numbers menu.
3 Record the serial number from this menu.

M-Series Libraries
This topic describes how to find the product serial number for M1500, M1800, and the M2500 libraries.
The product serial number is located either on the Stack-link slot or on the back of the library, depending on the unit.
This procedure describes how to find the product serial number on an M­Series library by using the Prism Management Card interface.
Caution: It is possible that the serial number displayed on the Prism
Management Card and the physical library may not match. Take the time to make sure they do match, using the physical library value as the accurate number.
1 On the host computer, open the Internet browser software.
2 In the Address field, type

The serial number for StorNext Storage Manager is physically located on the front side of the media kit box. In addition, the administrator initially responsible for the software may have received the serial number through E-mail when he or she requested license information.
Both StorNext Storage Manager and Stornext File System have serial numbers in the format S/N SN000123 (for example, SN02728).
The StorNext FX serial number is in the format

opsys represents the operating system on which it runs as either LX for Linux, UX for UNIX, or WN for Windows.
c represents the number of clients as either 1, 5, or A. The A represents 10 clients.
