MINI POCKET TESTER WITH VARIOUS ADAPTORS
INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Thank you for purchasing the Pro’sKit’ Mini Pocket Tester with various adaptors. The unit is a Mini Pocket Tester for identifying cables in a Multi Dwelling Unit. The cable installer uses the unit to place a DC current through one end of the desired
cable and identies the cable at the end with the detachable
Tone Detector. Before using the Mini Pocket Tester and various adaptors, please read the following manual completely.
Features and Benets
Tones out cables by inserting a DC current into a coaxial cable at one end and detects that cable from others in a remote location by attaching the audio toning detector to the other end.
Features
• Improved head design with rugged push-on male F connector
• Easily viewable short circuit indicator
• Loud audio level for noisy environments
• Time-saving push-on female connector on audible toner
• Easily stores in shirt pocket or tool pouch
The unit is equipped with a short circuit detector. The LED is located on the head of the transmitter section. If a DC short circuit exists in the cable, the LED will light up. Many high quality splitters used for MDU application are short circuit to DC; therefore, if these splitters are in the cable line, the LED will light up. With the additional wide range of optional adaptors, it can test telephone, LAN, audio, security, or virtually any other type of wire or cable easily.

2. Put a double female “F” connectors into the top of NT-302
push-on tting port, and put another type of connector
which one end matching the desired test cable plug.
3. Connect the connector with desired test cable properly
4. Add a type of connector which matches both ends of desired test cable end plug and the “tone” detector
5. Put the “tone” detector to the matching connector
6. When the desired test cable short circuit was found, the LED lights up and the tone will sound
Cable in an MDU testing instruction:
1. Take the NT-302 Mini Pocket Tester, then unscrew the “tone” detector which is conveniently stored in the base section
2. The main section of NT-302 has a male “F” push-on tting. Attach this push-on tting to a female “F” port on an apart-
ment wall plate.
3. Tough the “tone” detector to each one of the cables at the remote location. When the correct cable from the transmitter location is found, the tone will sound.
Note: To replace the battery, unscrew the battery chamber access cap above the tone detector. Battery type: 23A-12V
