Thank you for purchasing the MT-8001 BUTT SET. Before using the
MT-8001 for the first time, please read the following instructions.

使用說明書

裝換9V電池

當你的話機有「鈴聲只響兩聲便斷掉」、「極性指示燈不亮」、「監控無聲」
、「記憶失效」的現象產生時，代表你的話機電池即將沒電，請更換新電池。
(注意！更換電池前，應確認鱷魚夾斷離電路，避免觸電危險！)取下(17)三顆
螺絲，打開電池蓋(18)，取下電池(19)，並更換相同規格電池(6F22ND 9V)。
取下電池時，儲存記憶等功能只能維持10秒鐘，若記憶消失，請依說明書之各
項操作說明，重新輸入記憶功能。

(請選用特性較佳之高性能電池，以確保監聽音量)

更換保險絲

當你的話機有「死機」、「不通電」的現象產生時，代表你的話機保險絲可能
已燒毀，請檢查保險絲。(注意！檢查保險絲前，應確認鱷魚夾斷離電路，避
免觸電危險！)取下(17) 3顆螺絲，打開電池蓋(18)，取下保險絲(22)，並更換
相同規格保險絲(ø5xL20mm 100mA/250V)。

使用說明書

簡易故障排除方法

注意！

1. 本話機屬於專業通信維修工具，適合於通信查線使用；嚴禁在任何具有
AC100~125V 50/60Hz或AC200~250V 50/60Hz的交流電源下作業，以免產

生觸電危險或損壞話機。

2. 本話機操作時，如有雜音現象，一般均屬於電信線路中的雜訊所產生，請將
音量開關(12)置適當M或 L，即可降低雜訊；或是請檢查鱷魚夾接頭與被測
的電話局線是否接觸好？

3. 當你發現話機操作有不正常現象產生時，請先使用不同區域的電信局線重新
測試，並判斷故障原因；並請參考下列「簡易故障排除方法」(注意！進行
故障排除前，應確認鱷魚夾斷離電路，避免觸電危險！)；如果還是無法排
除故障，請送回原來購買的Pro'skit經銷商處維修。

Voice/Speakerphone Controls

Talk/Monitor switch (10)

The T (talk) position gives an off hook condition for dialing and talking as a
common battery telephone. The M (monitor) position removes the transmitter
from the circuit. It provides a high impedance coupling to allow line monitoring
without disrupting conversations or signalling.

The Handset/Speakerphone switch (11)

The Speakerphone and Amplified Speakers provide convenient handsfree
operation. The switch is used to turn the Speakerphone and Amplified Speakers
ON and OFF.

Volume Control (12)

This switch sets the volume control for the Speakerphone/Amplified speakers.
The volume can be set to H (high), M (medium, or L (low). Note that to prevent
acoustic feedback, the test set mutes the regular transmitter and receiver in
Speakerphone Mode and Speaker Mode.

Speakerphone calling

Calls can be made with the Speakerphone ON or OFF by selecting the Talk (T)
position on the Talk/Monitor switch. When making a call in Speakerphone mode,
the numbers dialled can be heard from the speaker providing an audible
feedback to the user.

Battery life

To extend battery life, the speaker will automatically shut off after approximately
five minutes if there has not been a signal greater than -30 dBm in that period.
Any signal greater than -30 dBm resets the timer and keeps the speaker turned on.

Mute switch (13)

The mute switch turns the Speakerphone microphone off for privacy.

hook. The green LED will light if the red test lead is connected to ring (negative)
side of the line and the black test lead is connected to the tip (positive) side of
the line. The red LED will light if the test leads are reversed. The LEDs will also
flash during pulse or tone dialing. They are turned off during Speakerphone or
Amplified Speaker mode.

Tone/Pulse

This toggle switch works as a Tone/Pulse switch. In addition, pushing the "*" key
will enable you to temporarily switch between Tone and Pulse without using the
toggle switch.

Storing Numbers

The STO button (3) is used to store numbers in memory. There are 12 total
memory locations (keys 0 through 9, * and #), with each capable of storing
up to 16 digits.

Before storing a new number it is advisable to first clear the memory location to
be used. To clear the memory location, press the STO button twice, followed by
the memory location to be cleared.

To store a number:

1. Switch to T using the T/M switch (10)

2. Press STO

3. Enter the number to be stored

4. Press STO

5. Press the key for the desired memory location.

6. Switch to M using the T/M switch (10)

To store a number while off hook:

1. Connect the test set to the line and receive a dial tone.

2. Dial the number.

3. Press STO twice

4. Press the key for the desired memory location.

Dialing using Recall

The RCL button (4) is used to recall a number stored in memory. After receiving
a dial tone, press RCL and the number key for the memory location. The
number
will be automatically dialled.

Last Number Redial

The LNR button (5) redials the last number called (in either Tone or Pulse mode
) after going on-hook and then back off-hook.

自動關機，進入省電模式，下次恢復信號使用，需重新啟動(11)監聽
功能。

工作指示燈
開關撥置"T"檔：
手持通話極性工作指示燈亮。
免持通話極性工作指示燈滅
注：紅色夾子接"+"極，指示燈亮紅色。
　　黑色"+"極，指示燈亮綠色。

使用說明書

● 開關(10)置"T"通話檔，按"STO"儲存鍵+電話號碼+ "STO"儲存鍵+所放置
 的位置(0-9.*.#)，則該號碼會存至所設位置，開關(10)撥回"M"檔。

● 在通話過程撥號完畢後，您可以儲存您剛才所撥出的電話號碼。按兩下
 "STO"儲存鍵，然後輸入所需放置的位置(0-9.*.#)。

撥打記憶電話號碼

開關(10)置機"T"通話檔，按"RCL"取出鍵+所放置的記憶位置，則儲存位置
中的電話號碼將自動撥出。

注意：

● 在同一記憶位置下，您可以通過儲存新的號碼，來覆蓋原先儲存的號碼；
 如需要清除原儲存的號碼，則連按兩次

● 為滿足一些小交換機（PBX）的需要，您可以通過按一下"PSE"鍵來插入
 暫停鍵，(大約3.6秒，且不能在首位)。暫停時間也能夠在使用重撥和記憶
 撥號功能時插入。(例如：0 "PSE"鍵2589)

● 記憶位置可以分享，您可以把一個長的電話號碼拆開，分別存儲在兩個記
 憶位置內。

靜音鍵使用

通話過程中撥(13)"MUTE"靜音開關至OFF，可暫時關閉通話發話，撥回ON則
恢復正常通話。

檢查監聽方式

開關(10)置"M"監聽檔，按(11)手持/免持轉換開關，打開監聽功能，如局線有
信號則喇叭發出信號音，如無信號則喇叭會有細小的線路噪音。

Pause

There are some cases where it may be necessary to insert a pause between
digits of a stored number, such as when accessing a trunk through a PBX that
requires a 9 to get out. To store a number with a pause, simply press the PSE
button at the point where the pause is required. For example to store 9-555-1212,
you would enter 9[PSE]5551212. The PSE button inserts a 3.6 second pause.

Operation

" To monitor a line, first set the Talk/Monitor switch to M. Then connect the test
leads to the circuit under test. Monitoring can now be done without disrupting
traffic.

" When testing circuits, CLICKS can be loud enough to cause acoustical shock.
Test sets should not be held closely against the ear. They should be positioned
to rest comfortably on the shoulder, away from the ear or set to Speakerphone
mode.

Maintenance

1. Disconnect clips from any metallic connections before performing any
maintenance.

2. If the test set fails to operate properly at any time, first replace the battery and
retest (see Battery Replacement).

3. Do not use chlorinated solvents on the test set.

Butt Set Trouble Shooting

1. Prokit's Butt Set is a professional telecom tool, especially designed for
checking telecom line. It is not allowed to use under the power source
AC100~125V 50/60Hz or AC200~250V 50/60Hz; otherwise, it may cause the
danger of electric shock or product damage.

2. If there is any crosstalk in application, generally it is the interference from the
telecom line, please set the Speakerphone level control switch (12) in the
position of M or L to reduce the interference; or please check if the alligator
clips are well connected to the telecom line.

3. If any abnormal situation is found while you are using the Prokit's Butt Set,
please test the other telecom line in the different area to identify the possible
defect situation referring to the trouble shooting list below. (Attention! Please
never have the alligator clips connected to the power source for safety reason.)
If the Butt Set still doesn't work after the first step of fix-up, please send back
the product to Prokit's distributor for repairing.

設置撥號方式

話機裝置使用前，要將其撥號方式，調至與當地電話交換局相同的撥號方式
，調整鍵盤板上(6)TONE/PULSE開關以確定其撥號方式。(出廠前您的話機
裝置被設置成TONE雙音頻撥號方式)

TONE 為雙音頻撥號方式

暫時改變撥號方式

您可以用" * "鍵來暫時改變撥號方式，例如：在用PULSE脈沖撥號方式撥號
後，按一下" * "鍵即可切換成TONE雙音頻撥號方式。當掛機後，話機裝置
將自動恢復成PULSE脈沖撥號方式。

免持/監聽音量調節

調節話機裝置上的(12)免持/監聽音量開關，以確定音量
(通話方式/監聽方式)：

最後號碼重撥

初次撥號如遇忙線或無應答時，可先將開關(10)撥回"M"檔。重撥時開關(10)
撥置"T"，按一下"LNR"鍵，即可重新撥出上次所撥號碼。(重撥號碼最多可
達32位數)。

記憶的儲存

您可以儲存12個電話號碼(最多16位數)到數字鍵。儲存電話號碼到記憶位
置(0-9.*.#)。

PULSE 為脈沖撥號方式

H 為音量高

M 為音量中
L 為音量低

話機裝置連接

下列簡單的連接完畢後，話機裝置即可使用。

1. 話機裝置連接線。

-將夾子連接至局線電話插座端子。

設置工作方式

話機裝置使用前，要選擇其工作方式，撥動話機裝置上的(10)通話/監聽轉
換開關，以確定其工作方式。
(出廠前您的話機裝置，被設置成"M"監聽方式)

檢查撥號方式

開關(10)撥置"T"通話檔，將聽到撥號音，按(11)手持/免持轉換開關，可轉
換通話方式(手持通話/免持通話)，撥任意數字鍵，如您還是聽到撥號音，則
須改變撥號方式。

Battery replacement

1. Remove the three screws from the battery compartment.

2. Remove the case lid.

3. Lift out the battery retainer

4. Remove the battery from the battery boot and install an Alkaline or Lithium 9V 
 battery

5. Replace the same specification (6F22ND 9V) of battery, retainer, lid and 
 screws.

Avoid pinching battery wires.

Attention ! After the battery is removed, the memory of storing numbers will last
for 10 second only. If the memory is disappeared, please follow the previous
process as mentioned in this manual to store a number.

Fuse replacement

1. Remove the three screws from the battery compartment.

2. Remove the case lid.

3. Lift out the fuse.

4. Replace the same specification (ø5xL20mm, 100mA/250V) of fuse, lid and 
 screws.
