CONNECTION TO THE MAINS SUPPLY

The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
BROWN - LIVE (L) BLUE - NEUTRAL (N) GREEN/YELLOW - EARTH (E)
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appl iance may not corres pond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pr oc eed as foll o ws:
The BLUE wire is th e N EUTRAL and mus t be c on nec t ed t o th e terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured BLACK
The BROWN wire is the LI VE and must be connected to th e terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured RED.
The wire which is c olour ed G REEN /YELLOW must be c onnected to the t erm inal which is marked E or coloured GREEN or GREEN/YELLOW.
Always ensure that the cord grip is positioned and securely fastened.
WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED.
If a 13A (BS1363) fused p lug is used it must be fitted with a 13A fuse. If in doubt consult a qualified electric ia n.

Important Safety Notes
Always unplug the urn in the following situations:-
- Before cleaning
- After use
- Before emptying
Never place the urn in a tilted position.
Do not unplug the urn by pulling the cable cord.
Close supervision is nec essary when the appliance is used by or near ch ildren
or infirm persons.
Improper use of urn may result in serious scald.
As there is boiling wat er inside the urn, always ensure th e lid is securely
fitted whenever urn is turned on or hot water is inside.
Be careful of hot steam when removing the lid for refilling
Never switch on the urn when th ere is less than 3 litres of water insi de or it is
below the minim um level or above the maximum level. O therwise, this will ca us e water spillage and dam age to the heating e lement respec tively. Though ther e is a cut-off device if the urn overheats, allowing the unit to boi l dry will eventually damage the heating element.
Avoid touching the exterior of the urn as it will be very hot.
Never place the urn on a hot surface.
If the supply cord of th is appliance is damaged, it m ust only be replaced by a
qualified electrician.
Operate on a level sur f ac e. O perati ng on s i nks, drain boards or une ve n s urf ac es must be avoided.
Do not place any part of this applianc e on or near a hot gas or electric b urner in a heated oven.
Do not attempt to repair or disassemble the appliance. There are no user serviceable parts.
Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
Do not operate any appl iance with a dam aged cord or plug, after th e appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner.
Do not operate the appliance when empty.
