Advanced laser imaging technology allowed Polk Audio engineers to see the entire vibrating surface of a driver and tweeter; they could actually

Aerated polypropylene Dynamic Balance

®

Cones (two 5 1/4" drivers) have lower excursion
rates and therefore less distortion for better
sound. They are stiff yet lightweight for superb
mid-range clarity, punchy bass and high
efficiency. These cones are 20% lighter
than conventional polypropylene and
35% lighter than aluminum cones.
The ring radiator tweeter design, found in $35,000
free-standing speakers, delivers smooth, extended
highs with excellent accuracy and astonishing
detail. A redesigned faceplate geometry refines
off-axis characteristics.

The Performance Optimization Wizard is a PC-based software interface that makes speaker position and room acoustics optimization virtually foolproof. The program
enables you to optimize the performance characteristics of our LCi-IP speakers specifically to their location in a given room and to the physical characteristics of that
room. The Performance Optimization Wizard asks a series of basic speaker configuration questions and a series of questions about the room environment. You simply
access the DSP using a laptop PC connected via a mini USB port on the front baffle of the speaker, or through the network when used in an IP network. See more about

** About Power Ratings:
The Federal Trade Commission has issued new regulations regarding the power ratings of all amplifiers, including self-powered speakers. Polk Audio supports this effort to standardize power
testing methods in order to provide consumers with a “level playing field” basis for comparison. Note, however, that the FTC rating is based on the “Continuous Power” output of the amplifier.
Music and movies are rarely “continuous” but are mainly composed of short bursts of sound. For this reason we also supply a “Dynamic Power” rating that measures the ability of the amplifier
to produce power in short bursts similar to those found in music and movies. In our experience, an amplifier with higher Dynamic Power output will play louder under most conditions regard­less of the continuous power rating.
