Introduction
This appendix supplements the MediaCenter application user manual with the
extra features from version 4.0 and the updated version 3.0. Please also read the
version 3.0 manual.
Focus is placed on the following four topics:
The Picture-in-Picture feature
Teletext
Settings
Changes to the user interface
Picture-in-Picture is only supported in version 4.0. However, the other 3 features
are already included in 3.0, improved in version 4.0 and also partially
documented in the user manual mentioned above.
The Picture-in-Picture feature allows you to watch multiple TV channels
simultaneously.
Expanded options for the other three features in version 4.0 substantially
improve the use of MediaCenter.

Picture-in-Picture
Overview
The Picture-in-Picture (PiP) feature displays two or more TV windows, allowing
you to view and record multiple TV channels simultaneously.
Picture-in-Picture is a TV function which requires two independent tuners.
MediaCenter 4.0 provides you PiP support in all available modes (program
mode known as 2-foot mode and TV mode known as 10-foot mode). The
following commands are available to you in all modes.
2
Picture-in-Picture
TV Mode
Not all PiP functions are supported by all remote control units.
Opening an Additional TV Window
To open an additional TV window, press the green button on your remote
control while in TV mode. The next available TV channel is then displayed in
another TV window. The new window is now the active window.
Activating the Image
Normally the main image is active. If you have opened at least one additional
TV window, the active image is displayed with a green border.
You can change the active window. If a certain window is active and you wish
to activate a different window, then press the Confirm/OK button on your
remote control until a green border appears around the desired window.
Switching TV Channels
You can switch the TV channels in an active window using the arrow keys on
your remote control.

The images which are displayed in the TV windows can be exchanged. To do
this, press the yellow button on your remote control while the second TV
window is activated.
Positioning the Additional TV Window
Your second TV window can be positioned at any location on the screen. To do
this, first activate the TV window which you want to move and then use the
arrow keys on your remote control to move your window to the desired
position.
Closing the TV Window
You can close a TV window if you no longer need it to be open. To do this,
press the red button on your remote control. If you close the main window, all
additional TV windows will also be closed.
