Important

◗ Only use the HQ8000/ 600 powerplug

supplied to charge the shaver.

◗ The powerplug transforms 100-240 volts to

12 volts.

◗ Make sure the HQ8000/ 600 powerplug does

not get wet.

◗ The shaver runs at a safe low voltage of

12 volts.It is watertight and can be cleaned
under the tap.Do not rinse with water hotter
than 80cC.

◗ For the best shaving results,shaving emulsion

should be pumped up frequently.

Charge indications

C

◗ As soon as you start charging the empty

shaver,the green pilot light will go on.

Charging

Recharge and keep the appliance at a
temperature between 5cC and 35cC.
The powerplug is suitable for mains voltages
ranging from 100 to 240V.

◗ You cannot use the shaver when it is charging,

because the appliance does not work while its
batteries are being charged.

1 Put the appliance plug in the shaver.

2 Put the powerplug in the wall socket.

Do not recharge the shaver in a closed pouch or
cassette.

3 When charging for the first time or after a

long period of disuse:leave the shaver to
charge continuously for 12 hours.

Charging normally takes approx.8 hours.
A fully charged shaver has a cordless shaving time

of up to 25 minutes.

4 To extend the lifetime of the batteries,

remove the powerplug from the wall
socket and pull the appliance plug out of
the shaver when the batteries have been
fully charged.

The shaver does not work if it is connected to
the mains.

Inserting cartridges

The cartridges with moisturising NIVEA FOR
MEN shaving emulsion are available in boxes
containing five cartridges and one small plastic
pump.Do not throw the pump away:you will
need it for all five cartridges!

Use only Philishave NIVEA FOR MEN Cool Skin
(HQ160 or HQ161) cartridges.

For hygienic reasons,we advise you to insert a
new pump when you start using a new set of five
cartridges.

Inserting the first cartridge

1 Take one cartridge from the box.Take the

pump (supplied in the same box) out of its
bag and push it into the cartridge until it
locks into position with a click.

2 Move the release slide downwards and

open the cover of the cartridge
compartment.

C

3 Slide the cartridge with the pump into the

shaver.It only fits properly if the white side
of the pump is pointing downwards.Close
the cover.

4 Press the yellow pump button a few times

until the NIVEA FOR MEN shaving
emulsion appears.The shaver is now ready
for use.

Do not throw the pump away when you replace
an empty cartridge.You will need it for the other
cartridges.

The NIVEA FOR MEN shaving emulsion in this
cartridge will keep when stored at temperatures
between 0cC and +40cC.

Shaving

1 Switch the shaver on by pressing the on/off

button once.

2 Press the yellow pump button to apply

NIVEA FOR MEN shaving emulsion to
your skin.Move the shaver over your skin,
making both straight and circular
movements.

3 While shaving,press the pump button

frequently to apply more NIVEA FOR
MEN shaving emulsion so that the shaver
keeps gliding smoothly over your face.

Do not press the shaver too hard against your
skin while shaving.
If you prefer,you can wet your face first.

◗ When you have run out of shaving emulsion,

you can also use the shaver without it on a
dry face.

◗ Your skin may need 2 or 3 weeks to get

accustomed to the Philishave system.

4 Switch the shaver off.

5 Put the protection cap on the shaver to

prevent damage.

Remove the cartridge and clean the shaver if you
are not going to use the appliance for more than
one week.Rinse the shaver after each shave.

Cleaning

Shaving unit

Rinse the shaving unit and the hair chamber with
hot water (60cC - 80cC) after every use.

1 Switch the shaver off.

2 Press the release button and flip the

shaving unit open.

C

3 Clean the shaving unit and the hair

chamber by rinsing them under a hot tap
for some time.

Never dry the shaving unit with a towel or tissue
as this may damage the shaving heads.

4 Rinse the outside of the appliance.

Make sure the inside of the shaving unit and the
hair chamber have been cleaned properly. Close
the unit and shake off excess water.

◗ If the shaving unit becomes detached from the

shaver accidentally,reattach it by pushing the
hooks into the holes on the rear side of the
appliance.

5 Leave the shaving unit open to let the

appliance dry completely.

Replacing the shaving heads

Replace the shaving heads every two years for
optimal shaving results.

1 Switch the shaver off.

2 Press the release button to open the

shaving unit and pull the shaving unit off
the shaver.

3 Hold the shaving unit in one hand and

squeeze the S-clip in the centre of the
retaining plate with the other hand and lift
it out.

C

4 Remove the shaving heads and place the

new ones in the shaving unit.

C

5 Reassemble the shaving unit by placing

back the retaining frame.Press the wheel
and turn it clockwise.

Replace damaged or worn shaving heads with
Philishave HQ167 Cool Skin shaving heads only.

Storing

◗ The appliance can be stored in the pouch or

cassette supplied.Whether you have a pouch
or a cassette depends on your shaver version.

The pouch has been designed to hold the
appliance, its protection cap, two spare cartridges
and the powerplug.The pouch is washable; wash
it separately (see washing instructions on the
inside of the pouch).
The cassette has been designed to hold the
appliance, its protection cap, five spare cartridges
and the powerplug.

Disposal of batteries

Remove the batteries when you discard the
shaver.Do not throw the batteries away with the
normal household waste, but hand them in at an
official collection point.You can also take the
batteries to a Philips Service Centre, which will
dispose of them in an environmentally safe way.

Only remove the batteries if they are completely
empty.

1 Let the shaver run until it stops,undo the

screws and open the shaver.

2 Remove the batteries.

Do not connect the shaver to the mains again
after the batteries have been removed.

Tip

◗ The shaver comes with cartridges containing

two different kinds of shaving emulsion:an
emulsion for a sensitive skin and a fresh gel.
This gives you the opportunity to try them
out and discover which one suits your skin
type best.

Troubleshooting

1 Shaving heads do not move smoothly over

the skin.

B

Cause:not enough shaving emulsion has been
applied.

◗ Press the pump button a few times until a

sufficient amount of NIVEA FOR MEN shaving
emulsion has been released to allow the
shaving heads to move smoothly over your
face again.

2 Reduced shaving performance

B

Cause 1:the shaving heads are dirty.The shaver
has not been cleaned immediately after use
and/or has not been rinsed long enough and/or
the water used to rinse the shaver was not hot
enough.

◗ Clean the shaver thoroughly before you

continue shaving (see 'Cleaning').

Cause 2:long hairs are obstructing the shaving
heads.

◗ Remove the retaining frame.

◗ Clean the cutters and guards.

Do not clean more than one cutter and guard at
a time, since they are all matching sets. If you
accidentally mix up the cutters and guards, it may
take several weeks before optimal shaving
performance is restored.

◗ Remove the hairs with the brush supplied.
◗ Put the retaining frame back onto the shaving

unit.

Cause 3:shaving heads are damaged or worn.

◗ Remove the retaining frame.
◗ Remove the old shaving heads from the

shaving unit and replace them with new ones

Damaged or worn shaving heads (cutters and
guards) must only be replaced with the original
Philishave HQ167 Cool Skin shaving heads.

◗ Put the retaining frame back onto the shaving

unit.

3 Shaver does not work when the on/off

button is pressed:

Cause 1:the shaver is still connected to the mains.

Cause 2:the batteries are empty

◗ Recharge the batteries.

4 Cover of the cartridge compartment

cannot be closed

Cause 1:the cartridge has not been inserted
correctly.

◗ Insert the cartridge correctly. It only fits

properly into the shaver if the white side of
the pump is pointing downwards.

Cause 2:the cartridge has not been pushed far
enough into the shaver.

◗ Press the cartridge until it is properly seated.

5 The NIVEA FOR MEN shaving emulsion

has changed colour or has turned watery.

B

Cause:the NIVEA FOR MEN shaving emulsion
has not been stored at the right temperature.

◗ Take a new cartridge.

6 Skin irritation occurs

B

Cause 1:your skin has not yet become
accustomed to this shaving system.

◗ Allow 2-3 weeks for you skin to get

accustomed to this shaving system.

Cause 2:the shaving emulsion irritates your skin.

◗ Try the other type of shaving emulsion.
◗ Wet your face before shaving with the shaving

emulsion.

If the irritation does not disappear after 24 hours,
we advise you to stop using the shaving emulsion
and to contact your doctor.

1 Enfoncez la fiche dans le rasoir.
2 Mettez le chargeur dans la prise de

courant.

Ne rechargez pas le rasoir dans un étui ou un
coffret fermé.

3 Lorsque vous chargez l'appareil pour la

première fois,ou si l'appareil n'a pas été
utilisé pendant une longue période:
chargez-le pendant 12 heures sans
interruption.

Une charge normale dure 8 heures environ.
A pleine charge, le rasoir offre une autonomie de

25 minutes environ.

4 Pour prolonger la durée de vie des

accumulateurs,enlevez le chargeur de la
prise de courant et tirez la fiche hors du
rasoir après avoir chargé les
accumulateurs complètement.

Le rasoir ne fonctionne pas branché sur secteur.

Les cartouches

Les cartouches d'émulsion à raser NIVEA FOR
MEN sont disponibles en paquets contenant cinq
cartouches et une pompe en plastique. Ne jetez
pas la pompe:vous en aurez besoin pour les cinq
cartouches!

Utilisez exclusivement des cartouches Philishave
NIVEA FOR MEN (HQ160 et HQ161).

Pour des raisons d'hygiéne,il est conseillé de
changer la pompe à chaque nouveau paquet de
cartouches.

Insérez la première cartouche

C

1 Prenez une cartouche du paquet.Insérez la

pompe fournie avec le paquet dans la
cartouche jusqu'à ce que vous entendiez
un clic.

2 Poussez le bouton de déverrouillage vers

bas et ouvrez le couvercle du
compartiment à cartouche.

C

3 Glissez la cartouche avec la pompe dans le

rasoir.Elle est fixée correctement si la
partie blanche de la pompe est dirigée vers
le bas.Fermez le couvercle.

4 Appuyez plusieurs fois sur le bouton jaune

de la pompe jusqu'à ce que l'émulsion à
raser apparaisse.Le rasoir est prêt à
l'emploi.

Ne jetez pas la pompe quand vous remplacez la
cartouche vide.Vous en aurez besoin pour les
autres cartouches.

L'émulsion à raser NIVEA FOR MEN de cette
cartouche doit être conservée à une température
entre 0cC et +40cC.

Rasage

1 Mettez le rasoir en marche en appuyant

sur le bouton marche/arrêt une fois.

2 Appuyez sur le bouton jaune de la pompe

pour appliquer l'émulsion NIVEA FOR
MEN.Déplacez le rasoir sur la peau en
effectuant des mouvements rectilignes et
circulaires.

3 Pendant le rasage,appuyez souvent sur le

bouton de la pompe pour appliquer
l'émulsion NIVEA FOR MEN et permettre
ainsi au rasoir de glisser sur votre peau.

N'appliquez pas une pression trop forte sur le
rasoir pendant le rasage.
Si vous le souhaitez,vous pouvez humidifier
légèrement votre visage avant de vous raser.

◗ Quand vous êtes à court d'émulsion de

rasage,vous pouvez utiliser le rasoir à sec.

◗ Votre peau peut avoir besoin de 2-3 semaines

pour s'habituer au système de coupe
Philishave.

4 Arrêtez le rasoir.

5 Remettez le capot protecteur sur le rasoir

pour éviter tout dommage.

Rincez le rasoir et les têtes après chaque
utilisation.Retirez la cartouche et nettoyez le
rasoir si vous ne vous en servez pas pendant une
semaine ou plus.

Nettoyage

Unité de rasage

Rincez l'unité de rasage ouverte sous l'eau
chaude (60c-80cC) après chaque utilisation.

1 Arrêtez le rasoir.

2 Appuyez sur le bouton de déverrouillage

et ouvrez l'unité de rasage.

C

3 Rincez l'unité de rasage sous l'eau la plus

chaude possible.

Ne séchez jamais l'unité de rasage à l'aide d'une
serviette, car cela pourrait endommager les têtes
de rasage.

4 Rincez l'extérieur du rasoir.

Assurez-vous que l'intérieur de l'unité de rasage
et le compartiment de récupération des poils ont
été nettoyés minutieusement.Fermez l'unité de
rasage et secouez l'eau du rasoir.

◗ Si l'unité de rasage se détache

accidentellement du rasoir,refixez-la en

insérant les crochets dans les orifices à
l'arrière de l'appareil.

5 Laissez l'unité de rasage ouverte afin de

laisser l'appareil sécher complètement.

Remplacement des têtes de rasage

Pour un résultat de rasage optimal,remplacez les
têtes de rasage tous les deux ans.

1 Arrêtez le rasoir.

2 Appuyez sur le bouton de déblocage et

ôtez l'unité de rasage.

3 Tenez l'unité de rasage d'une main et

pressez l'attache en S au centre du flasque
avec l'autre main pour l'ôter.

C

4 Enlevez les têtes usagées et placez les

nouvelles têtes dans l'unité de rasage.

C

5 Remontez l'unité de rasage en enfonçant la

molette et en la faisant tourner vers la
droite.

Remplacez les têtes endommagées ou usagées
exclusivement par des têtes Philishave HQ167
Cool Skin.

Rangement

◗ L'appareil peut être rangé dans l'étui ou le

coffret fourni (suivant modèle).

L'étui a été conçu pour pouvoir ranger l'appareil,
son capot de protection,deux cartouches et le
chargeur.L'étui est lavable; lavez-le séparément
(voir les instructions à l'intérieur de l'étui).
Le coffret a été conçu pour ranger l'appareil, son
capot de protection,cinq cartouches et le
chargeur.

Elimination des accumulateurs

Enlevez les accumulateurs lorsque vous mettez
l'appareil au rebut.Ne les jetez pas avec les
ordures ménagères,mais déposez-les à un endroit
prévu à cet effet par les autorités publiques.Vous
pouvez également les déposer dans un Centre
Service Agéé Philips.Ils y seront traités dans le
respect de l'environnement.

Eliminez les accumulateurs uniquement lorsque
ceux-ci sont entièrement vides.

1 Laissez l'appareil fonctionner jusqu'à l'arrêt

complet,défaites les vis et ouvrez
l'appareil.

2 Enlevez les accumulateurs.

L'appareil ne doit plus être raccordé au secteur
une fois les accumulateurs retirés.

Conseils

◗ Votre rasoir est livré avec 2 types différents

d'émulsion à raser:Une émulsion pour peau
sensible et un gel frais.Cela vous offre
l'opportunité d'essayer et de choisir
l'émulsion qui convient le mieux à votre type
de peau.

Dépannage

1 Les têtes de rasage ont du mal à se

déplacer sur la peau.

Cause:vous n'appliquez pas assez d'émulsion.

◗ Appuyez sur le bouton de la pompe jusqu'à ce

qu'une quantité suffisante d'émulsion NIVEA
FOR MEN ait été appliquée pour permettre
aux têtes de rasage de se déplacer aisément.

2 Les résultats de rasage se dégradent

B

Cause:Les têtes de rasage sont sales. L'appareil
n'a pas été nettoyé immédiatement après usage,
il n'a pas été suffisamment rincé ou l'eau n'était
pas suffisamment chaude.

◗ Nettoyez l'appareil à fond (voir "Nettoyage").

Cause 2:Des poils longs sont emmêlés dans les
têtes de rasage.

◗ Enlevez la plaque de fermeture.

◗ Nettoyez les couteaux et les grilles.

Ne nettoyez pas plus d'un couteau et une grille à
la fois,parce que ceux-ci sont affûtés par paires. Si
vous intervertissez par mégarde les couteaux et
les grilles, plusieurs semaines peuvent être
nécessaires avant que l'appareil rase à nouveau de
manière optimale.

◗ Enlevez les poils.
◗ Replacez la plaque de fermeture sur l'unité de

rasage.

Cause 3:les têtes de rasage sont abîmées ou
usées.

◗ Enlevez la plaque de fermeture.
◗ Enlevez les têtes de rasage de l'unité de rasage

et remplacez-les par des têtes de rasage
neuves.

Les têtes de rasage abîmées ou usagées
(couteaux et grilles) doivent être remplacées
uniquement par des têtes Philishave HQ167 Cool
Skin d'origine.

◗ Replacez la plaque de fermeture sur l'unité de

rasage.

3 Le rasoir ne fonctionne pas lorsque vous

appuyez sur le bouton marche/arrêt:

Cause 1:le rasoir est branché.

◗ Débranchez l'appareil.Le rasoir ne fonctionne

pas lorsqu'il est branché sur secteur.
