Warning
-This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
-The supply unit contains a transformer. Do not cut off the supply unit to replace it with another plug, as this causes a hazardous situation.
-Always unplug the appliance before you clean it under the tap.
-Always check the appliance before you use it. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged, as this may cause injury. Always replace a damaged part with one of the original type.
Caution
-Never use water hotter than shower temperature (max. 40°C) to rinse the appliance.
-Do not use the supply unit in or near wall sockets that contain an electric air freshener to prevent irreparable damage to the supply unit.
-Only use this product for its intended purpose and follow the general and battery safety instructions as described in this user manual. Any misuse can cause electric shock, burns, fire and other hazards or injuries.
-For hygienic reasons, the appliance should only be used by one person.
-Do not use the appliance on irritated skin or skin with varicose veins, rashes, spots, moles (with hairs), sores or wounds without consulting your doctor first. People with a reduced immune response or people who suffer from diabetes mellitus, haemophilia or immunodeficiency should also consult their doctor first.

-Your skin may become a little red and irritated the first few times you use the appliance. This phenomenon is absolutely normal and quickly disappears. As you use the appliance more often, your skin gets used to it and skin irritation decreases. If the irritation has not disappeared within three days, we advise you to consult a doctor.
-To prevent damage and injuries, keep the operating appliance away from scalp hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, lips, inner labia, clothes etc.
-Do not exfoliate immediately after epilation, as this may intensify possible skin irritation caused by epilation.
-Do not use bath or shower oils when you epilate wet skin, as this may cause serious skin irritation.
-Never use compressed air, scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive liquids to clean the appliance.
Battery safety instructions
-To charge the battery, only use the detachable supply unit (SSW-2479xx, ‘xx’ indicating the country version) provided with the appliance.
-Charge, use and store the product at a temperature between 10 °C and 35 °C.
-Always unplug the product when it is fully charged.
-Do not burn products and their batteries and do not expose them to direct sunlight or to high temperatures (e.g. in hot cars or near hot stoves). Batteries may explode if overheated.
-If the product becomes hot, changes color, gives off an abnormal smell or if charging takes much longer than usual, stop using and charging it.
-Do not place products and their batteries in microwave ovens or on induction cookers.
-This product contains a rechargeable battery that is nonreplaceable. Do not open the product to replace the rechargeable battery.

-When you handle batteries, make sure that your hands, the product and the batteries are dry.
-To prevent batteries from heating up or releasing toxic or hazardous substances, do not modify, pierce or damage products and batteries and do not disassemble, short-circuit, overcharge or reverse charge batteries.
-To avoid accidental short-circuiting of batteries after removal, do not let battery terminals come into contact with metal object (e.g. coins, hairpins, rings). Do not wrap batteries in aluminum foil. Tape battery terminals or put batteries in a plastic bag before you discard them.
-If batteries are damaged or leaking, avoid contact with the skin or eye. If this occurs, immediately rinse well with water and seek medical care.
Electromagnetic fields (EMF)
This Philips appliance complies with all applicable standards and regulations regarding exposure to electromagnetic fields.
General
- This appliance is waterproof. It is suitable for use in the bath or shower and for cleaning under the tap. For safety reasons, the appliance can therefore only be used without cord.
- The supply unit is suitable for mains voltages ranging from 100 to 240 volts.
-The supply unit transforms 100-240 volts to a safe low voltage of less than 24 volts.
Charging
Charging the appliance takes approximately 5 hours. When the appliance is fully charged, it has a cordless operating time of up to 30 minutes. If the appliance is not fully charged, the operating time is shorter.

1 Make sure that the appliance is switched off.
2 Place the appliance in the charging case.
Note: Make sure the charging pins of the appliance are in full contact with the charging case. You hear a click when full contact has been established.
3 Insert the small plug in the bottom of the charging case and insert the adapter into the wall socket.
Note: The charging light goes on to indicate that the appliance is charging.
When the battery is fully charged, the charging light goes out.
Using the appliance
The epilator is intended to remove hairs by the root in the intimate area (the outside and inside of the outer labia), the underarms, the bikini line and hard-to-reach areas such as knees and ankles.
Warning: Do not use the epilator on the inner labia.

You can also also use it to epilate the lower part of your face (chin, cheeks and the area above your upper lip) and the area between your eyebrows.
Warning: Do not use the epilator on scalp hair, eyebrows, eyelashes and lips.
The appliance can be used wet or dry.
Epilation tips
-Wet: We advise you to start epilating on wet skin, as water relaxes the skin and makes epilation less painful and gentler. Use your common shower gel or foam for smoother epilation.
-Dry: If you epilate dry, epilation is easier just after taking a bath or shower. Make sure your skin is completely dry when you start epilating.
-General: We advise you to epilate before going to bed at night, as skin irritation usually disappears overnight. Make sure your skin is clean, entirely dry and free from grease. Do not use any deodorant, makeup or cream before you start epilating.
-General: Epilation is easier and more comfortable when the hair has the optimum length of 3-4 mm. If the hairs are longer, we recommend that you shave first and epilate the shorter regrowing hairs after 1 or 2 weeks. Alternatively, you can trim the hairs to 3-4 mm before you start epilating.

Epilating your intimate area and bikini line
1 Thoroughly clean the area to be epilated.
2 Take one of the following positions:
- Place one leg on a bathtub or chair.
- Sit on a chair.
- Sit in the bathtub.
3 Spread your legs to achieve some initial stretching of the skin.
4 Press the on/off button once to switch on the appliance.

5With your free hand, stretch a small area of the skin with two fingers to make the hairs stand upright.
Warning: When you epilate the inside of your outer labia, make sure that you stretch the outer labia in such a way that the epilating discs cannot come into contact with the inner labia.
Note: Only place the epilator on thoroughly stretched skin.
Tip: When you epilate your outer labia, protect your inner labia with your other hand.
6Place the appliance onto the skin at an angle of 90° and slowly move the appliance against the direction of hair growth.
Tip: Move the appliance in different directions to catch all hairs.
7 When you have finished epilating, switch off the appliance and clean the epilating head (see 'Cleaning').
Tip: To relax the skin, we advise you to apply a moisturizing cream immediately or a few hours after epilation.
Epilating other delicate areas
You can also use the appliance to epilate other delicate areas:
-The area between your eyebrowes and the lower part of your face (chin, cheeks and the area above your upper lip).
- Your underarms.
1Thoroughly clean the area to be epilated. Remove any residues of deodorant, make-up, cream etc.
2 Press the on/off button once to switch on the appliance.
3 With your free hand, stretch a small area of the skin with two fingers to make the hairs stand upright.

Cleaning
1 Switch off the appliance.
2 Remove loose hairs with the cleaning brush.
3 Rinse the appliance with water that has a maximum temperature of 40 °C.
4 Shake off excess water and let the appliance dry.
Storage
1 Make sure that the appliance is dry when you store it.

2 For protection during storage or travel, store the appliance in the charging case. If supplied, put the protection cap on the charging case.
3 Store the appliance in a cool, dry place.

Cutting units are not covered by the terms of the international warranty because they are subject to wear.
Recycling

- This symbol means that this product contains a built-in rechargeable battery which shall not be disposed of with normal household waste (2006/66/EC). Please take your product to an official collection point or a Philips service center to have a professional remove the rechargeable battery.
-Follow your country’s rules for the separate collection of electrical and electronic products and rechargeable batteries. Correct disposal helps prevent negative consequences for the environment and human health.
Removing the rechargeable battery
Only remove the rechargeable battery when you discard the product. Before you remove the battery, make sure that the product is disconnected from the wall socket and that the battery is completely empty.

Take any necessary safety precautions when you handle tools to open the product and when you dispose of the rechargeable battery.
1Switch on the appliance and let it operate until it stops.
2Put the appliance in the freezer for at least 24 hours to make the material brittle.
3Wrap the appliance in a towel.
4Hit the towel with a tool to break the appliance.
5Remove the rechargeable battery.

-Nach den ersten paar Mal der Verwendung des Geräts ist Ihre Haut möglicherweise etwas gerötet und gereizt. Dies ist völlig normal, und die Symptome halten nur kurze Zeit an. Allgemeines
- Dieses Gerät ist wasserdicht. Es ist für die Verwendung im Bad oder unter der Dusche geeignet ist und kann mit Leitungswasser gereinigt werden. Aus Sicherheitsgründen kann dieses Gerät daher nur kabellos verwendet werden.

Aufladen
