Preparing for use
Filling the detachable water tank
Do not put hot water, perfume, vinegar, starch, descaling agents, ironing aids or other chemicals in the water tank.
Fill the water tank before use and as soon as the‘water tank empty’ light flashes.
1 Remove the detachable water tank from the steam generator and fill the water tank with tap water.
Note:Your appliance has been designed to be used with tap water. If you live in an area with very hard water, fast scale build-up may occur. In this case, it is recommended to mix 50% distilled water and 50% tap water to prolong the life of your appliance.
2 Slide the water tank back into the steam generator (‘click’).
’Water tank empty’ light
When the water tank is almost empty, the‘water tank empty’ light goes on. Fill the water tank to continue ironing.

Using the appliance
OptimalTemp technology
Do not iron non-ironable fabrics.
This steam generator is equipped with OptimalTemp technology, which enables you to iron all types of ironable fabrics without adjusting the iron temperature or steam setting.
- Fabrics with these symbols are ironable, for example linen, cotton, polyester, silk, wool, viscose and rayon.
-Fabrics with this symbol are not ironable.These fabrics include synthetic fabrics such as Spandex or elastane, Spandex-mixed fabrics and polyolefins (e.g. polypropylene), but also prints on garments.
Ironing
1Place the steam generator on a stable and even surface.
2Make sure that there is enough water in the water tank (see section ‘Filling the detachable water tank’).
3Put the mains plug in an earthed wall socket and press the on/off
button to switch on the steam generator.The ‘iron ready’ light starts to flash,to indicate that the steam generator is heating up
(this takes approx. 2 minutes).
,When the ‘iron ready’ light lights up continuously, the steam
generator is ready for use.
4Specific types only:Press the carry lock release button to unlock the iron from the iron platform.

5Press and hold the steam trigger to start ironing. Keep the steam trigger constantly pressed when you move the iron over the fabric.
Never direct steam at people.
Steam boost function
There are two steam boost functions for removing stubborn creases.
-Press the steam boost button for extra-strong steam output.
- Press the steam trigger twice quickly for a high continuous steam output.You do not have to press the steam trigger continuously, which gives a more comfortable ironing experience.
Vertical ironing
Hot steam is emitted from the iron. Never attempt to remove creases from a garment that someone is wearing. Do not apply steam near your or someone else’s hand.
You can use the iron in vertical position to remove wrinkles from hanging fabrics.
1 Hold the iron in vertical position, press the steam trigger and touch the garment lightly with the soleplate.
Putting down the iron during ironing
-During ironing, you can place the iron either on the iron platform or horizontally on the ironing board.Thanks to the OptimalTemp
technology, the soleplate will not damage the ironing board cover.

Energy saving
ECO mode
By using ECO mode (reduced amount of steam), you can save energy without compromising on the ironing result.
1To activate the ECO mode, press and hold the on/off button for 2 seconds.The light turns green.
2To switch back to the ‘OptimalTemp’ setting, switch the steam
generator off and on again.
SafetyAuto-off (specific types only)
The Safety Auto-off function automatically switches off the appliance if it has not been used for 10 minutes, to save energy.
IMPORTANT - Cleaning and maintenance
IMPORTANT - Descaling the steam generator
To ensure a long life for your steam generator, it is very important that you perform the descaling procedure when the EASY DE-CALC light starts to flash.
-The EASY DE-CALC light starts flashing after approx. one month or
10 ironing sessions to indicate that the steam generator needs to be descaled.To descale the steam generator, perform the steps below.
Never remove the EASY DE-CALC knob when the steam generator is hot.
1 Press the on/off button to switch off the steam generator and remove the plug from the wall socket.
2 Place the steam generator on a stable table with the
EASY DE-CALC knob sticking out beyond the edge of the table or take the steam generator to a sink.
3 Hold a cup under the EASY DE-CALC knob.Turn the
EASY DE-CALC knob anti-clockwise and let the water with scale particles flow into the cup.When no more water comes out of the steam generator, reinsert the EASY DE-CALC knob.Turn the knob clockwise to fasten it and put the plug back into the socket again.
You can now use the steam generator again.

Cleaning the soleplate
Clean the soleplate regularly to remove stains from the soleplate.

To maintain a good gliding of your soleplate, it is recommended to clean it regularly (once every 2 months).You can do that by heating up the iron and moving the soleplate over a moist cloth.
Descaling the soleplate: if you do not descale your steam generator regularly, scale may build up on the soleplate.You can remove scale by following the instructions below:
Descale the steam generator before you clean the soleplate (see section ‘IMPORTANT - Descaling the steam generator’).
Tilt the steam generator and pour 500ml distilled water into the opening. Reinsert the EASY DE-CALC knob and turn the knob clockwise to fasten it.
Press the on/off button and wait for 5 minutes.
Put a piece of thick cloth on your ironing board. Place your iron on the cloth, press and hold the steam trigger.While pressing the steam trigger, slowly move the iron back and forth across the cloth until no water comes out anymore or when steam comes out.
Hot, dirty water comes out of the soleplate.

Switch off the steam generator and let it cool down for 2 hours.
Remove the EASY DE-CALC knob and let the water flow into a cup.
Reinsert the EASY DE-CALC knob and turn the knob clockwise to fasten it.
Repeat steps 2 to 6 of this cleaning procedure.
Storage
1Switch off the steam generator and unplug it.
2Remove the water tank and empty it.
3Put the iron on the iron platform.Specific types only:push the carry lock to lock the iron onto the platform.
4Fold the supply hose and mains cord. Put them in their respective
storage compartments.
5 Specific types only:You can carry the appliance with one hand by the handle of the iron.
Do not carry the appliance by holding the water tank release lever.

Point the iron away from the garment and let it produce steam for a few seconds.
Switch off the appliance and wait for two hours for steam generator to cool down. Unscrew the EASY DE-CALC knob reattach it properly. Note: When you remove the knob, water comes out of the steam generator. If steam continues to escape, switch off the appliance and contact an authorised Philips service centre.
Descale the steam generator regularly. See section‘Cleaning the soleplate’ in chapter ‘Cleaning and maintenance’.

Perfect Care is safe on all garments.The shine or imprint is not permanent and will come off if you wash the garment.Avoid ironing over seams or folds or you can place a cotton cloth over the area to be ironed to avoid imprints.

You did not press the steam trigger.
The water tank is not placed properly in the steam generator.
Water is pumped into the boiler inside the steam generator.This is normal.

Slide the water tank firmly back into the steam generator (‘click’).
If the pumping sound continues nonstop, switch off the steam generator and remove the plug from the wall socket. Contact an authorised Philips service centre.

Γέμισμα της αποσπώμενης δεξαμενής νερού
Μην βάζετε ζεστό νερό,άρωμα,ξύδι,κόλλα κολλαρίσματος,ουσίες αφαλάτωσης,υγρά σιδερώματος ή άλλα χημικά μέσα στη δεξαμενή νερού.
Να γεμίζετε τη δεξαμενή νερού πριν από κάθε χρήση, καθώς και όταν αναβοσβήνει η λυχνία“άδειας δεξαμενής νερού”.
1 Αφαιρέστε την αποσπώμενη δεξαμενή νερού από τη γεννήτρια ατμού και γεμίστε τη με νερό βρύσης.
Σημείωση:Η συσκευή έχει σχεδιαστεί για χρήση με νερό βρύσης.Αν μένετε σε κάποια περιοχή με πολύ σκληρό νερό,μπορεί πολύ σύντομα να συσσωρευτούν άλατα.Σε αυτήν την περίπτωση,συνιστάται να αναμειγνύετε 50% αποσταγμένο νερό και 50% νερό βρύσης για να παρατείνετε τη διάρκεια ζωής της συσκευής σας.
2 Τοποθετήστε ξανά τη δεξαμενή νερού στη γεννήτρια ατμού (“κλικ”).

Χρήση της συσκευής
Τεχνολογία OptimalTemp
Μην σιδερώνετε τα υφάσματα που δεν μπορούν να σιδερωθούν.
Αυτή η γεννήτρια ατμού διαθέτει τεχνολογία βέλτιστης θερμοκρασίας OptimalTemp, η οποία σας δίνει τη δυνατότητα να σιδερώνετε όλα τα είδη υφασμάτων που μπορούν να σιδερωθούν, χωρίς να προσαρμόζετε τη θερμοκρασία του σίδερου ή τη ρύθμιση ατμού.
-Τα υφάσματα με αυτά τα σύμβολα μπορούν να σιδερωθούν.
Τέτοια υφάσματα είναι τα λινά, τα βαμβακερά, ο πολυεστέρας, τα μεταξωτά, τα μάλλινα, η βισκόζη, το ρεγιόν.
-Τα ρούχα με αυτό το σύμβολο δεν μπορούν να σιδερωθούν. Αυτά τα υφάσματα είναι συνθετικά και περιλαμβάνουν σπάντεξ ή
ελαστάν, ανάμεικτα σπάντεξ συνθετικά και πολυολεφίνες (π.χ. πολυπροπυλένιο) ή έχουν στάμπες.
Σιδέρωμα
1Τοποθετήστε τη γεννήτρια ατμού σε σταθερή και επίπεδη επιφάνεια.
2Βεβαιωθείτε ότι υπάρχει αρκετό νερό στη δεξαμενή νερού (δείτε την ενότητα“Γέμισμα της αποσπώμενης δεξαμενής νερού”).
3Τοποθετήστε το φις σε μια γειωμένη πρίζα και πιέστε το κουμπί
ενεργοποίησης/απενεργοποίησης για να ενεργοποιήσετε τη γεννήτρια ατμού.Η λυχνία“ετοιμότητας σίδερου” αρχίζει να αναβοσβήνει,υποδεικνύοντας ότι η γεννήτρια ατμού θερμαίνεται (θα χρειαστούν περίπου 2 λεπτά).
, Όταν η λυχνία“ετοιμότητας σίδερου” παραμείνει σταθερά αναμμένη,η γεννήτρια ατμού είναι έτοιμη για χρήση.
4 Μόνο με συγκεκριμένους τύπους:Πατήστε το κουμπί απασφάλισης κλειδώματος μεταφοράς για να απασφαλίσετε το σίδερο από τη βάση του.

5 Πατήστε παρατεταμένα τη σκανδάλη ατμού για να αρχίσετε το σιδέρωμα.Συνεχίστε να πατάτε τη σκανδάλη ατμού όση ώρα σιδερώνετε το ρούχο.
Μην κατευθύνετε ποτέ τον ατμό προς τους άλλους.
Λειτουργία βολής ατμού
Υπάρχουν δύο λειτουργίες βολής ατμού για την αφαίρεση επίμονων τσακίσεων.
- Πατήστε το κουμπί βολής ατμού για ιδιαίτερα ισχυρή παροχή ατμού. - Πατήστε γρήγορα τη σκανδάλη ατμού δύο φορές για μεγάλη, συνεχή παροχή ατμού. Δεν χρειάζεται να πατάτε παρατεταμένα τη σκανδάλη ατμού. Αυτή η ευκολία καθιστά το σιδέρωμα ακόμα πιο άνετο.
Κάθετο σιδέρωμα
Το σίδερο παράγει καυτό ατμό.Μην επιχειρήσετε να σιδερώσετε ένα ρούχο ενώ το φοράτε.Μην ρίχνετε ατμό κοντά στο χέρι σας ή στα χέρια των άλλων.
Μπορείτε επίσης να σιδερώσετε κρατώντας το σίδερο σε κάθετη θέση, για να αφαιρέσετε τσακίσεις από κρεμασμένα ρούχα.
1 Κρατήστε το σίδερο σε κάθετη θέση,πιέστε τη σκανδάλη ατμού και ακουμπήστε ελαφρά την πλάκα στο ρούχο.
Τρόπος τοποθέτησης του σίδερου κατά το σιδέρωμα
-Κατά το σιδέρωμα, μπορείτε να τοποθετήσετε το σίδερο είτε στη βάση του είτε οριζόντια στη σιδερώστρα. Χάρη στην τεχνολογία
OptimalTemp, η καυτή πλάκα δεν καταστρέφει τη σιδερώστρα.
