What is Freeview?
-NEVER let children push anything into the holes or slotson the case.
Servicing
-There are no user serviceable parts in this settop box.
-When servicing, refer to qualified service personnel.
-Consult your dealer if you are ever in doubt about theinstallation, operation or safety of this set topbox.
It is thenew, free digital service currently providing up to 30 free digital TV channels, over 20digital radio stations plus a whole newworld ofinteractive services. It's broad-cast from transmitters and received via a rooftop aerial.
It works like traditional TV, but because thesignals are Digital you need a set top box to convert them. This means more channels can be transmitted with extra fea-tures such as interactivity and widescreen pictures.

Safety Considerations
Position the cables so that theycannot be walked on or pinched byitems placed on or against them.

Using theRemote Control
To use the remote control, point it towards the frontofthe set top box.
The remote control has a range of upto7 metres fromthe set top box at an angle of up to 60degrees.

Note that the only recommended way to disconnect the Digital SetTop Boxfrom the mains supply is to removethe adaptor from themains socket. If the mains socket isfitted with a switch, this could be used instead.

During initialisation theindicator on the frontpanel will flash green for a few seconds and then be lit and remain green. If the indicator is red (stand by)press the buttonon the remote control.
The front panel indicator will now be litgreen.

Whenscanning has finished, the received stations are automatically arranged in numerical order.
The TVset then plays the station at the top of this sorted list. The Infobox for the TV station playing is displayed for a short time. The TV station continues to play the pro-gramme.
Note: Your receiver, as with any electronic equipment, con-sumes power. In order to reduce power consumption, pleaseswitch your receiver to standby when not in use. If you will notbe using yourreceiver for along periodof time, we recommend unplugging it from the mains outlet.
This is replaced by the window shown below.

Using the Set Top Box
Channel List
The Channel List presents a list of all channels found dur-ing the channel search described earlier. The listcom-prises radio and TV channels. They have been allocated a channel (reference) number and are listed inthis numeri-cal order.
The Channel List canbe used to watch and listen tothe selected channels, delete them from the list, editthe nameof the channel, set a passwordto access the channel, andto add the channel to your list of favourite channels.

Create viewing restrictions on all available chan-nels. Once activated a lock key code must beentered to view the TV channels.
If your TV has no SCART you have to connect the receiver as described on page8 and choosea channel that is not disturbed by any inputchannel for a good output quality. You have tostart a new channel search on your TV and waituntil receiving pictures in good quality.
