It conforms to strict standards laid out by EICTA to offer a HD screen that displays the benefits of resolution and picture quality of a High Definition TV signal. It has a universal connection for both analog YPbPr and uncompressed Digital connection of DVI or HDMI, supporting HDCP. It can generate 720p, and/or 1080i signals at 50 and 60Hz.

HDMI output

HDMI is a direct digital connection that can carry digital HD video as well as digital multichannel audio. By eliminating the conversion to analog signals it delivers perfect picture and sound quality, completely free from noise. HDMI is fully backward-compatible with DVI.

Common Interface slot

This is a slot to insert Common Interface module (also known as CI, CAM or PCMCIA modules), so that Pay-TV services can be descrambled for your access and viewing.

Access to Pay TV services

More and more top quality content are being broadcasted these days, but the only way to access these pr emi um chann els is to sub scribe t o th e servi ces fro m th e local Pay-TV operators. Insert the operator's smart card into the set top box, a nd it will descramble the encrypted signals that are being broadcasted by the Pay-TV operators.

Electronic Program Guide 7d

You want to know what are the programs available today and for the next 7 days, so that you can avoid missing your favorite shows by planning your evenings or making pre-scheduled recordings. The data is broadcasted by the program broadcaster, and when this data is available, this product compiles the information and list them in the menu for your easy use reference. Simply enter the menu, or press the EPG button on the remote control to access the program guide. The EPG will provide you with an overview, listing the program information for the upcoming 7 days.

2 SCART connectors

2 SCART sockets allow you to connect to 2 devices at the same time. One for the TV, and the other either to a recording product (e.g. VCR or DVD recorder) for recording of TV programs, or to a video playback device (e.g. DVD player or Blu-ray player). Simply connect the SCART sockets on the product to the SCART socket on the desired devices, by a SCART cable. Video signals wou ld then pas s t hrough onto th e o ther devic e f or viewing or recording.
