Warranty coverage begins the day you buy your product.For 90 days thereafter, a defective or inoperative product will be replaced with a new, renewed or comparable product at no charge to you.A replacement product is covered only for the original warranty period.When the war­ranty on the original product expires, the warranty on the replacement product also expires.

Open battery door and insert four batteries (preferably PHILIPS POWER LIFE or alkaline), type R6, UM3 or AA as indicated in the compartment.

Remove the batteries from the set if they are exhausted or not be used for a long time.
When the batteries are turning low, appears in the display. The radio and backlight will not function, but the display and power saving buzzer will continue to operate.
When replacing batteries, the clock time, alarm setting will be stored by the self-powered back-up for 1 minute (see 'Self-Powered Back-Up').
Make sure the radio is switched off to save battery energy.
Batteries contain chemical substances, so they should be disposed of properly.
Power adapter
Connect the power adapter to the set's DC jack and to the power outlet.

Always disconnect the power adapter if you are not using the set.

SELF-POWERED BACK-UP
The self-powered back-up conveniently allows your alarm and clock time settings to be stored for up to 1 minute when there is a power interruption e.g. AC power failure or when changing batteries. The complete clock radio and backlight illumination will be switched off. As soon as the power supply returns the display will indicate the correct time.
• If power supply returns after 1 minute, the demo mode appears and you will need to re-enter all clock settings.
BATTERY LOW MODE
If you have inserted batteries, the battery low indicator lights up when:
battery power is low.
you intend to use AC power, but the AC adapter connection is loose. During the battery low mode, both Radio/Sleep, backlight and sound will not function. Operation of any set alarm (Radio/Buzzer/Cockcrow) automatically changes to a slow buzzer beep frequency.
If the

GENERAL FEATURES
Reset
Should you receive external interference e.g. static electricity from carpets, thunder­storms, etc. which affects the display and electronic functions of your set, RESET allows you to clear all previous settings and start up again.
• Use a ballpoint pen to press RESET, found on the bottom of the set.
Demo mode
When the set is first connected to a power supply or has been reset, ‘PHILIPS’ will scroll continuously across the demonstration display.
Press AL2 button during the demo mode to listen to the cockcrow demo.
Press SET TIME or

to exit the demo mode, to set the time
or switch on the Radio.

SETTING THE CLOCK AND ALARM TIMES
The time is displayed using the 12-hour clock with PM indicator (PM off = AM).

Press SET TIME or enter the respective clock or alarm time setting mode.

SETTING THE ALARM
GENERAL
If you wish to use the alarm, first set the alarm time before selecting your choice of two alarm modes, radio or buzzer/cockcrow. The alarm display is shown con­stantly, and the alarm indicator appears if the alarm is set.
To select the radio alarm, press AL1 button once.
The ALARM 1 display and m appear and you will hear 'Alarm ON'.
– Make sure you have adjusted the volume loud enough to wake you up!
To select the buzzer or cockcrow alarm, press AL2 button once or more.
The

2 display and or appear and you will hear 'Alarm ON'.
When reach Alarm setting time, Radio, Buzzer or cockcrow will switch on for about 30 minutes and the alarm indicator flashes.
Within seconds, your gentle wake alarm :
Buzzer option - increases its beep tone frequency.
Cockcrow option - increases volume.
Note:
If alarm by Radio and Buzzer/Cockcrow are activated at the same time, Alarm by Buzzer/Cockcrow will dominate.
SWITCHING OFF THE ALARM
There are three ways of switching off the alarm. Unless you cancel the alarm completely, the 24-hour ALARM RESET will be automatically selected after 30 minutes from the time your alarm first goes off.
24 HOUR ALARM RESET
If you want the alarm mode to be stopped immediately but also wish to retain the same alarm setting for the following day:

You will hear a beep tone confirming 24 hour reset activation.

REPEAT ALARM
This repeats your alarm call at 5 minute intervals.
During the alarm call, press REPEAT

CANCELING THE ALARM COMPLETELY
During alarm activated or repeat alarm mode, press and hold the AL1 or AL2 button for more than 1 second. Alarm will be switched off completely.
The selected alarm indicator and alarm time disappears and you will hear 'Alarm OFF'.
SLEEP
About Sleep
This set has a built-in sleep timer, which enables the radio to be automatically switched off after a set period of time. There are four sleep time options.

MAINTENANCE
If you do not intend to use set for a long time, remove the batteries.
Do not expose the set to humidity, rain, sand or excessive heat caused by heating equipment or direct sunlight.
To clean your set, use a soft damp cloth or chamois leather. Do not use clean­ing products, which contain benzene, thinner, etc. as these may harm the housing.
ENVIROMENTAL INFORMATION
We have reduced the packaging to its minimum using only paper and cardboard. Your set consists of materials which can be recycled if disassembled by a specialized company. Please observe local regulations on the disposal of
packing materials and old equipment.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If a fault occurs, first check the points listed below before taking the set for repair. If you are unable to remedy a problem by following these hints, consult your dealer or service center.
