Installation

You can install the ID-CB conduit box using one of the following installation methods:
• In a suspended ceiling with a ceiling panel (ID-PCB includes the conduit box and the ceiling panel).
• In a suspended ceiling with a prepared ceiling tile (ID-CB only).
• In a prepared solid ceiling (ID-CB only).

INSTALLING A CEILING PANEL

1. Locate the area in the suspended ceiling where the conduit box and IP camera will be mounted.
2. Remove a ceiling tile from the desired location.
3. Replace the ceiling tile with a 2 x 2 foot (61 x 61 cm) ceiling panel.
Figure 1. Ceiling Panel

PREPARING A SUSPENDED CEILING TILE

1. Remove a ceiling tile from the desired location.
2. Cut a hole in the center of the ceiling tile that is 7.00 inches (17.80 cm) in diameter (refer to the Ceiling Panel dimension drawing on page 10).
3. Replace the prepared ceiling tile in the suspended ceiling.

PREPARING A SOLID CEILING

1. Locate the area for the installation.
2. Cut a hole in the solid ceiling that is 7.00 inches (17.80 cm) in diameter (refer to the Ceiling Panel dimension drawing on page 10).

INSTALLING THE CONDUIT BOX

1. Prepare the wiring for the system video, power, and alarm/relay.
2. Pull the prepared wiring into the conduit box through the back conduit fitting (refer to Figure 3).
3. Compress the spring clips on the conduit box and push it through the hole in the ceiling panel until the clips spring back.
4. Tighten the machine screws completely to secure the conduit box to the ceiling panel, ceiling tile, or solid ceiling.

1. Install the lens on the ID or IDE Series camera module:
NOTE: Megapixel lenses are designed and tested to deliver optimal image quality to megapixel cameras. A standard definition lens installed on a megapixel camera will limit the resolution of the camera and create poor image quality.
a. Remove the cover from the lens mount.
b. Screw the lens onto the lens mount. Be careful to prevent dust from entering the space between the lens and
the imager. If necessary, use clean, compressed air to remove any foreign matter (refer to the instructions shipped with the lens).
c. Connect the auto iris lens to the 4-pin connector located on the side of the camera. Refer to Figure 4 for pin
designation and iris drive connector information.

NOTE: If you are operating the camera using 24 VAC and you are wiring more than one camera to the same
transformer, connect one side of the transformer to the red wire (24 VAC +) and connect the other side of the transformer to the black wire (24 VAC –). Failure to connect all modules identically might introduce video noise for some installations.

INSTALLING THE CAMERA MODULE

1. Compress the spring clips and push the camera module into the conduit box until the clips spring back.
2. Tighten the machine screws completely to secure the camera module to the conduit box.
Figure 8. Installing the Camera Module
3. Apply power to the camera. The camera will complete a configuration sequence: the green LED flashes five times per second for approximately two minutes and then turns solid after the sequence is complete.
NOTE: If a camera is not connected to a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server and DHCP is enabled, the configuration sequence might take up to five minutes to complete.
4. Install the dome on the camera module. Make sure it is securely in place.

To complete the installation, refer to the ID Series Installation/Operation manual or the IDE Series Installation/Operation manual.
