• Before connecting, operating or adjusting this product, please read the instructions completely.
• Please keep this manual for future reference.
• Install this unit in a cool, dry and clean place away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, high humidity, and excessive vibration.
• Do not attempt to repair this unit by yourself. Electric shock or damage to the unit can occur if the unit is repaired, disassembled or reconstructed by unqualified persons. Contact your dealer or an authorized servicenter.
Panasonic shall not be held liable for any accident caused by improper placement or installation of this unit.

INTRODUCTION
Introducing you to a world of sheer visual and audio enjoyment stored on your iPod by connecting to Panasonic’s Universal Dock for iPod, which is then connected to Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System.
This unit is compatible with the following types of iPod:

OVERVIEW OF CONTROLS AND BASIC FUNCTIONS
Plug
Connect to the rear panel of the Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System.
Adapter holder
Holds the dock adapter.
Indicator
This indicator lights up when

Connects your iPod.

SETTING UP THE UNIVERSAL DOCK FOR iPod
Insert the dock adapter into the slot of the universal dock according to the type of iPod you wish to connect (➜ page 2).
Insert the dock adapter until it snaps into slot.
Slit
When you wish to remove the dock adapter from the universal dock, insert one of your fingernails into the slit and pull it out.

Holds the dock adapter.

CONNECTING THE UNIVERSAL DOCK FOR iPod
Preparation
Ensure that the power of the Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System is switched off before you connect the universal dock.
Connect the plug of the universal dock to the OPTION port terminal of the Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System.

CONNECTING YOUR iPod
Insert your iPod into the connector’s terminal of this universal dock.

The indicator lights up when the iPod is inserted, and charging begins.
Note:
• Make sure that the volume level of the Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System is set to minimum.
• Do not twist your iPod when inserting it or taking it off from this universal dock, and be careful not to knock over this universal dock when your iPod is inserted.
• Use this universal dock with the dock adapter, which is appropriate for your iPod. If you use this universal dock without using an appropriate dock adapter, a loose connection may result.
• Do not take off your iPod from this universal dock when you play your iPod back with the Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System.
• It is recommended that you update your iPod software before using it with this universal dock. The updater for the iPod software is available at the Apple website.

PLAYING YOUR iPod
You can play back music in your iPod by operating the iPod directly and/or by using the remote control of the connected Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System.
Available function depends on the connected Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System.
Refer to the operating instructions of Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System.
The battery for the iPod will charge during playback or while the connected Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System is in standby mode.
DISCONNECT THE UNIVERSAL DOCK FOR iPod
Preparation
Switch off the power of the Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System.

Switch off the iPod.

Pull out the plug of the universal dock from the OPTION port terminal of the Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Before requesting service, make the following checks. If you are in doubt about some of the checkpoints, or if the solutions indicated in the chart do not solve the problem, refer to the operating instructions of the iPod or the
Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System.
There is no sound from Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System during iPod playback.
The iPod does not respond to the remote control of Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System.
The indicator does not light up.
iPod does not charge. Connect your iPod firmly to the universal dock.
Connect your iPod firmly to the universal dock. Disconnect and connect the iPod to the universal dock.
Connect the universal dock firmly to Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System.
Refer to the operating instructions of Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System.
Once charging has completed while in standby mode of Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System, the indicator turns off.
Connect your iPod firmly to the universal dock. Connect the universal dock firmly to Panasonic DVD Home
Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System. Refer to the operating instructions of Panasonic DVD Home
Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System.
Disconnect and connect the iPod to the universal dock. Connect the universal dock firmly to Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System.
Refer to the operating instructions of Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System or CD Stereo System.
Refer to the operating manual of your iPod.

Limited Warranty Coverage
If your product does not work properly because of a defect in materials or workmanship, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company or Panasonic Puerto Rico, Inc. (collectively referred to as “the warrantor”) will, for the length of the period indicated on the chart below, which starts with the date of original purchase (“warranty period”), at its option either (a) repair your product with new or refurbished parts, or (b) replace it with a new or a refurbished product. The decision to repair or replace will be made by the warrantor.

Limited Warranty Limits And Exclusions
This warranty ONLY COVERS failures due to defects in materials or workmanship, and DOES NOT COVER normal wear and tear or cosmetic damage. The warranty ALSO DOES NOT COVER damages which occurred in shipment, or failures which are caused by products not supplied by the warrantor, or failures which result from accidents, misuse, abuse, neglect, mishandling, misapplication, alteration, faulty installation, set-up adju stments, misadjustme nt of consumer cont rols, improper maintenance, power line surge, lightning damage, modification, or commercial use (such as in a hotel, office, restaurant, or other business), rental use of the product, service by anyone other than a Factory Servicenter or other Authorized Servicer, or damage that is attributable to acts of God.

This warranty does not apply to products purchased outside Canada or to any product which has been improperly installed, subjected to usage for which the product was not designed, misused or abused, damaged during shipping, or which has been altered or repaired in any way that affects the reliability or detracts from the performance, nor does it cover any product which is used commercially. Dry cell batteries are also excluded from coverage under this warranty. This warranty is extended to the original end user purchaser only. A purchase receipt or other proof of date of original purchase is required before warranty service is performed.
