the SD Video Camera.
• To use SD cards, connect the SD Video Camera with
which this software is supplied to the PC.
• The video screen on a PC does not display information

UDF 2.0 formatted 4.7 GB/9.4 GB DVD-RAM discs and
8 cm DVD-RAM discs can be written to.
Use generally available video recording DVD-RAM
discs or format the discs using a DVD video recorder or
software compatible with DVD-RAM disc.
• A single-sided 2.6 GB or double-sided 5.2 GB
DVD-RAM disc cannot be used.
• A DVD video recorder or software compatible

1 TOOL BOX
The icons to switch the operation modes are located in
the TOOL BOX.
∫ How to switch the operation modes
Move the mouse cursor onto an icon in the TOOL BOX,
and the operation mode icons will appear. When you
select an icon, the mode will be switched and the
screen corresponding to the mode will appear in the
work area.
Example:
Clicking an icon in the TOOL BOX switches to the
operation mode corresponding to the icon.
• The icon of the mode selected is displayed in orange
in the TOOL BOX.
• The setting for the TOOL BOX can be done on the
TOOL BOX setting screen in the Settings mode.

Video clips (video) and still image clips (stills) can be
imported from the card in the SD Video Camera.
Motion videos recorded with an SD Video Camera are
stored on a card in SD-Video format. These motion videos
are imported onto the PC’s hard disk as editable MPEG2
files*.
* MPEG2 files to be edited that have an aspect ratio of
16:9 (wide) may not be displayed correctly by
applications that do not support the SD-Video format.
These files can be converted into MPEG2 files used
commonly by using the File output mode. (@
• Audio from editable MPEG2 files is captured to a PC in
MPEG format (MPEG1 Audio Layer2).

[PC CONNECT] from the [SELECT USB FUNCTION]
menu. (With some cameras, the connection is made to

become corrupted.

connection of devices other than the SD Video Cameras
with which this software is supplied.
` Only the data of motion pictures (SD-Video format) and
still pictures (JPEG) recorded using the SD Video
Camera, with which this software is supplied, can be
imported.
` If two or more SD Video Cameras are connected to a PC
or an SD card is inserted into the PC’s SD card slot, then
two or more SD data may be detected.
Up to two icons can be displayed in the SD Browser.
Disconnect any SD Video Cameras other than the one
to be used, or remove unnecessary SD cards.
` If files whose date and time of creation or update has
been set to year 2038 or later are imported, their date
and time of creation or update will be changed to the
date and time of capture.
SD Browser Activation
Clicking [Import images from an SD Card] on the menu
screen when activating will start the SD Browser.
It can also be displayed with the following methods:
• Click in the TOOL BOX.
• In the MotionSD STUDIO menu, select [File] >> [Input]
>> [Start SD browser] or [Tools] >> [Start SD browser].

You can set the SD Browser to activate automatically
when you have connected the SD Video Camera in which
a card containing recorded images has been inserted.

Connect the SD Video Camera.
The [SD Browser auto start] screen is displayed.

Click [Yes].
The SD Browser is activated, and a confirmation
message is displayed.

Click [Yes].
The selected images are imported to the PC, and a
confirmation message is displayed.
• To change your selection, click [No], and follow the
procedure for importing images to the PC. (@
