The backlight will turn off completely after 1 minute of inactivity if the handset is not on the base unit or
charger. Press {ih} to turn the display on again.

Operating tips
Using the joystick
Push the joystick up, down, left, or right to navigate through menus and to select.
Note:
LWhen selecting menu or the desired item,
these operating instructions use the following indication. Example: {^}/{V}: “Off Push the joystick up or down to select the words in quotations.
Adjusting the receiver or speaker volume
Push the joystick up or down while on a call.
Volume down
Soft keys
The handset features 2 soft keys and a joystick. By pressing a soft key, or by pressing the centre of the joystick, you can select the feature shown directly above it on the display.

Menu icons
When in standby mode, pressing down on the centre of the joystick reveals the handset’s main menu. From here you can access various features and settings.

What is a PIN? LThe PIN is a 4-digit number that must be entered
closer.
LThe base unit AC adaptor is not connected.
Check the connections.
LYou are using the handset or base unit in an area
with high electrical interference. Place the handset and base unit away from interference sources, such as antennas and mobile phones.
LThe handset is not registered to the base unit.
Register it (page 7).
LThe handset is in screen saver mode. Press
{ih} to activate the handset display again.
LMake sure that the batteries are installed
correctly.
LFully charge the batteries. LClean the charge contacts and charge again.
LWhen you are using fully-charged Ni-MH batteries
(supplied batteries); In continuous use: 12 hours max. In continuous standby mode: 150 hours max.
LIt is normal for batteries not to reach full capacity
at the initial charge. Maximum battery performance is reached after a few complete cycles of charge/discharge (use).
LActual battery performance depends on a
combination of how often the handset is in use and how often it is not in use (standby).
LEven after the handset is fully charged, the
handset can be left on the base unit or charger without any ill effect on the batteries.

The supplied handset and base unit are pre-registered. When you purchase an additional handset, refer to the additional handset’s installation manual for registration. If for some reason the handset is not registered to the base unit, register the handset.
