Finding the Controls
The control panel of the unit is divided into three equal parts: left, middle and right.
Left part:
At the top left part of the panel is a smooth surface. This is the display. Immediately below the display are
two oval buttons in a horizontal row: the left one is the CALLER IQ button and the right one is the
RECEIVE MODE button. To the right of the display are two circular buttons in a vertical row: the upper
one is the MENU button and the lower one is the CALLER ID button. Below these buttons is the
NAVIGATOR control, which is a large cross control with four active areas. The active areas are the 12
o’clock, 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock positions. The 12 and 6 o’clock positions are PLUS and
MINUS keys respectively. These are also the VOLUME control increase and decrease keys. The 3 and 9
o’clock positions are the RIGHT and LEFT arrow keys.
Middle part:
This part contains the telephone keypad laid out in the conventional telephone arrangement with a “nib”
on the 5 button. To the right of the keypad are four oval buttons in a vertical row: from top to bottom,
REDIAL, HANDSET MUTE, FLASH and MONITOR. The REDIAL button is also the PAUSE button.
Right part:
On the left is the ONE-TOUCH LABEL CARD, which has four buttons in a vertical row. On the left
below these buttons is the HELP button. To the upper right of the ONE-TOUCH LABEL CARD is a
circular button, marked with an indented page icon. This is the COPY button. Below this is a circular
button, with a minus-shaped protrusion, marked with an indented triangle. This is the STOP button. To the
right below the COPY button, there is another circular button, with a “nib”, marked with an indented
diamond. This is the FAX START button, which is also the SET button. On the upper right of the FAX
START button is a small circular button. This is the RESOLUTION button.
