Thank you for purchasing a Panasonic product.
Read this manual and the projector manual completely, and use this
product correctly and safely.
All the projector illustrations in this manual are based on PT-DZ8700U and
PT-DZ110XE model.
Before replacing the parts
• Turn off the main power of the projector and remove the power plug from the power
socket when replacing the cartridge.
• Follow the procedures in the “Powering off the projector” section in the projector’s
Operating Instructions manual when turning off the projector.

Installing the smoke filter
(1) Loosen the [ACF unit cover screw] (one screw) until the screw turns
freely and remove the [ACF unit cover].

Attention:
• Store the [ACF unit cover] carefully after removal.
(2) Remove the [ACF unit] from the projector.

(3) Install the [smoke-cut lter] according to the procedure shown in
gures A and B and secure the [smoke-cut lter screw] (one screw)
rmly.

Attention:
• Ensure the stability of the projector and install the smoke-cut lter in a place
whereby it is safe in case the lter falls.
• The smoke-cut lter must be installed before turning on and using the projector.If the
projector is used without the smoke-cut lter installed, dust and foreign objects may
get inside it and cause operating problems.

(1) After installing the [smoke-cut lter], turn on the projector and press
<MENU> button. Select [PROJECTOR SETUP] from the [MAIN MENU]
and press <ENTER> button.
(2) Select [SERVICE PASSWORD] in [PROJECTOR SETUP] Menu and
press <ENTER> button.
(3) Enter [1111] by pressing <1> on the remote control and then press
<ENTER> button in the service password entry screen.

(4) Press tuto switch from [NORMAL] to [SPECIAL] in the [AIR FILTER]
screen.

Attention:
• When you have nished using the smoke-cut lter and changed the ACF unit,
change the [Filter Type] settings from [SPECIAL] to [NORMAL] and ensure that the
<Filter Monitor> is not blinking in green. Operation problems might occur if the lter
settings are not changed.
(5) Press <MENU> button 3 times to escape from the Menu.
