WARNING:

Do not look straight at the IR
light since it emits an infrared
beam of light when it is lighted.
You may damage your eyes if
you look straight at the light.

Precautions for use

$ The IR (infrared) light is used as a

photographic aid for shooting in the dark and
at night. Do not use it for any other purpose.

$ When the IR light is mounted on the camera-

recorder and the camera-recorder is to be
carried, do not hold the camera-recorder by
the IR light.

$ Avoid using or storing the IR light in the

following places:
O Where the IR light will be exposed to the

intense rays of the sun, inside a vehicle
with all the windows closed or any other
high-temperature location

O Near a heating appliance or where the IR

light will be exposed to direct sunlight

O Where it is very dusty
O Where the IR light will be subjected to

violent vibration

$ When the IR light is not going to be used or

when carrying it, be absolutely sure to set
the POWER switch to the OFF position and
remove the battery.
Before stowing away the IR light, allow it
cool off sufficiently first.

Installing the battery

Push the battery straight in, and slide the
battery down until it clicks into place.

$ To remove the battery, hold down the button

while at the same time sliding the battery up
until it can be taken out.

Maintenance

$ Before proceeding with maintenance,

remove the battery.

$ Do not use benzine or paint thinners for

maintenance purposes since they may
deform the IR light or cause its paint to peel
off.

$ Wipe the IR light with a soft, clean cloth. To

remove stubborn dirt, dip a cloth into some
kitchen detergent diluted with water, wipe off
the dirt, and then take up any remaining
moisture using a dry cloth.

Power sources

Use a battery to power the IR light (see page

8).
O Do not use the AG-B15 AC adaptor kit.

Attention/Attentie

O Batteries are used for the main power

source, memory back-up in the product and
remote controller.
At the end of their useful life, you should not
throw them away.
Instead, hand them in as small chemical
waste.

Mounting the IR light on the camera

Tighten the anchoring ring to anchor the IR
light securely.
When doing so, use the screen to adjust
the emission position to adjust (horizontal)
the IR light.
O The emission position cannot be

adjusted vertically.

Mount the IR light by sliding it into the
accessory shoe on the camera-recorder or
handle.
O Before attempting to mount the IR light

into the accessory shoe of the camera­recorder, pull out the viewfinder.

Operation

$ POWER switch

OFF : The switch must always be set to

the OFF position when the IR light is not
going to be used.

WIDE : It is recommended that the switch

be set to the WIDE position for IR shooting
at distances up to 10 or so meters (11 or
so yards).
It is recommended that the IR light on the
camera-recorder also be used for IR
shooting at distances up to 5 meters (up to
5 yards).

SPOT : It is recommended that the switch

be set to the SPOT position for IR shooting
at distances in excess of 10 or so meters
(11 or so yards).
At this setting, a beam of infrared light can
be emitted up to distances of about 30
meters (32 yards). However, the area
exposed to the beam of light will be
reduced.

The recommended IR shooting distances are
ones which apply when the AG-DVC30 (or
AG-DVC32) camera-recorder is used.

$ POWER lamp

This lights when the POWER switch is set to
either WIDE or SPOT position.

$ IR CTRL dial

This dial is used to adjust the intensity of the
infrared beam of light.
Adjust the beam intensity to suit the distance
and brightness of the subject.

temperature of 68°F (20°C) and an ambient

approximations only. At other temperature

montierter IR-Leuchte tragen, halten Sie ihn
nicht an der IR-Leuchte.

$ Vermeiden Sie die Benutzung oder

Lagerung der IR-Leuchte an folgenden
Orten:
O Orte, an denen die IR-Leuchte starkem

Sonnenlicht ausgesetzt ist, in einem
Fahrzeug mit geschlossenen Fenstern
oder an anderen heißen Orten

O In der Nähe eines Heizkörpers oder an

Orten, wo die IR-Leuchte direktem
Sonnenlicht ausgesetzt ist

O Sehr staubige Orte
O Orte, an denen die IR-Leuchte heftigen

Vibrationen ausgesetzt ist

$ Stellen Sie den Schalter POWER auf OFF,

und nehmen Sie den Akku heraus, wenn Sie
die IR-Leuchte nicht benutzen, oder um sie
zu tragen.
Lassen Sie die IR-Leuchte ausreichend
abkühlen, bevor Sie sie verstauen.

Einlegen des Akkus

Führen Sie den Akku gerade ein, und schieben
Sie ihn nach unten, bis er einrastet.

$ Um den Akku abzunehmen, halten Sie den

Knopf gedrückt, während Sie den Akku nach
oben schieben, bis er abgenommen werden
kann.

Wartung

$ Nehmen Sie den Akku heraus, bevor Sie mit

der Wartung beginnen.

$ Verwenden Sie kein Benzin oder

Lackverdünner für Wartungszwecke, weil
derartige Substanzen die IR-Leuchte
verformen oder Ablösen der Lackschicht
verursachen können.

$ Wischen Sie die IR-Leuchte mit einem

weichen, sauberen Tuch ab. Um
hartnäckigen Schmutz zu entfernen, tränken
Sie ein Tuch mit etwas wasserverdünntem
Haushaltsreiniger, entfernen Sie damit den
Schmutz, und wischen Sie dann die restliche
Feuchtigkeit mit einem trockenen Tuch ab.

Stromquellen

Verwenden Sie eine Batterie zur Versorgung
der IR-Leuchte (siehe Seite 7).
O Verwenden Sie nicht den Netzgerätesatz

Ziehen Sie den Klemmring fest, um die IR­Leuchte einwandfrei zu sichern.
Nehmen Sie dabei den Bildschirm zu Hilfe,
um die Abstrahlposition (horizontal) der IR­Leuchte einzustellen.
O Eine vertikale Einstellung der

Abstrahlposition ist nicht möglich.

Montieren Sie die IR-Leuchte, indem Sie
sie in den Zubehörschuh des
Kamerarecorders oder Handgriffs
schieben.
O Ziehen Sie den Sucher aus, bevor Sie

versuchen, die IR-Leuchte in den
Zubehörschuh des Kamerarecorders zu
schieben.

Betrieb

$ POWER switch

OFF : Der Schalter muss immer auf die

Position OFF gestellt werden, wenn die IR­Leuchte nicht benutzt wird.

WIDE : Für Aufnahmen aus einer

Entfernung bis zu etwa 10 m ist es
empfehlenswert, den Schalter auf die
Position WIDE zu stellen.
Es wird empfohlen, die IR-Leuchte des
Kamerarecorders auch für IR-Aufnahmen
bis zu 5 m Entfernung zu verwenden.

SPOT : Für Aufnahmen aus einer

Entfernung über 10 m ist es
empfehlenswert, den Schalter auf die
Position SPOT zu stellen.
Bei dieser Einstellung gibt die Leuchte
einen Infrarotlichtstrahl bis zu einer
Entfernung von etwa 30 m ab. Der vom
Lichtstrahl beleuchtete Bereich verkleinert
sich jedoch.

Die empfohlenen IR-Aufnahmeentfernungen
gelten für den Fall, dass der Kamerarecorder
AG-DVC30 verwendet wird.

$ Lampe POWER

Diese Lampe leuchtet auf, wenn der
Schalter POWER auf WIDE oder SPOT
gestellt wird.

$ Regler IR CTRL

Dieser Regler dient zur Einstellung der
Intensität des Infrarotlichtstrahls.
Passen Sie die Lichtintensität der jeweiligen
Entfernung und Helligkeit des Motivs an.

ungefähren Zeitspannen, für welche die IR­Leuchte einen Infrarotlichtstrahl abgeben
kann, wenn ein ausreichend aufgeladener
Akku bei einer Betriebstemperatur von 20°C
und einer Betriebsluftfeuchtigkeit von 60 %
benutzt wird. Bei anderen Temperatur- oder
Luftfeuchtigkeitswerten können diese
Zeitspannen kürzer sein.

O Verwenden Sie den Netzgerätesatz AG-B15

zum Laden des Akkus.
