Insignia. A perfect financial perspective.
Insignia ecoFLEX engines underline our commitment to saving you money on your motoring from a business or personal perspective. The benefit of reduced vehicle tax and company car taxation – not to mention incredible fuel economy – mean it’s easy to understand the fiscal benefits. And all this is achieved without compromising the outstanding performance and driveability ensuring the Insignia’s dynamic driving experience is never more apparent.
The Insignia 2.0CDTi 16v (160PS) ecoFLEX Start/Stop models, for example, deliver up to 4.3 litres/100km (combined) and feature CO

as low as just 114g/km, which, considering their power and
performance, mean they rank amongst the lowest in their class.
We have also been researching ways of developing new cars that are more efficient than ever before. The new Opel Ampera is an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (E-REV) that can drive up to 80 kilometres on battery power alone and over 500 kilometres utilising an on-board electric generator system.

Insignia’s stylish looks are complemented by precision engineered engines and transmissions:

emissions without compromising on power and driveability: the 6-speed manual versions benefit from the latest Start/Stop technology. Our latest generation turbocharger technology enables these remarkable engines to generate maximum torque of 300Nm (130PS version) and 350Nm (160PS) from only 1750rpm, with maximum power developed at only 4000rpm, to ensure efficient progress. A smoothshifting 6-speed automatic transmission is also available with both engines for effortless driving, featuring Active Select that allows you to choose to change the gears sequentially.
Turbo Petrol. The 140PS turbo petrol engine utilises Variable Valve Timing, a water cooled turbocharger and intercooler to give smooth power throughout the rev range, with 200Nm maximum torque available from 1850-4900rpm, and maximum power
from 4900-6000rpm, giving seamless performance. Start/Stop technology ensures fuel efficiency and CO

Turbo Diesel 4X4. Insignia also offers an intelligent solution for those encountering slippery conditions as we are increasingly witnessing in winter time: the Adaptive 4X4 system coupled to our excellent 160PS diesel engine. This system constantly monitors driving conditions, smoothly directing drive to the wheels that need it most in any circumstances: in normal conditions, 95% of the power goes to the front wheels, but more power is fed to the rear wheels if the front loses grip, or while accelerating. Additionally an electronically controlled Limited Slip Differential (eLSD) optimises power transfer between the rear wheels. Opel’s innovative FlexRide system, which continually monitors and controls the suspension, is standard with the 4X4 transmission, meaning unrivalled traction and stability in all driving conditions. Select Sport mode and drive is proportioned 40:60 front:rear for a more dynamic driving experience!

Engines and Transmissions
The FlexRide system responds instantly to data collected from every chassis and drive component. Continuous Damping Control, which adjusts the damper settings in real time, fourchannel Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), traction control and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) – all communicate with each other continuously. FlexRide simply combines all the elements for the chosen driving mode.
When you select Sport mode, Insignia sharpens the speedsensitive steering response, throttle input and automatic transmission (when fitted), and stiffens the dampers to ensure optimum road contact. On some models, the system even allows you to programme which of the above functions you want more ‘sporty’ via an on-screen menu and the instrument lighting changes from white to red.
When you select Tour mode, the system adjusts the damper settings to further enhance Insignia’s ride comfort. Ideal for long distance motorway journeys.
FlexRide comes as standard on some models and is available as an optional extra on others.
Sport or Tour? The touch of a button changes the whole driving dynamics to taut sporting excitement or relaxed long distance cruising.
FlexRide (Adaptive Stability Technology).
Choose an Insignia with FlexRide, and the driving feel can be changed to match your mood. Select Sport mode for a more dynamic, responsive drive. Or Tour mode for a smoother, more relaxed set-up.
