temperatures over a prolonged period of
time.
• Please keep still during measuring.
• Keep the thermometer and its small parts out
of reach of children. Do not allow children to
take their temperatures unattended.
• Do not attempt measurements when the
thermometer is wet.
• This thermometer is designed to take

Disinfecting”.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Never submerge this thermometer in any
liquid since it is not water resistant.
1. Correct measurement
Measurement accuracy cannot be assured
when the method used to measure the
temperature is incorrect.
Oral use (for ages 4 and older):
The mouth should remain closed up to 5
minutes before starting a reading.
• Place the thermometer in the mouth under
the tongue so that it rests to the left or right of
the root of the tongue. (Fig. 1)
• Use downward tongue pressure to hold the
thermometer in place.
• Hold the thermometer to keep it from sliding
around in the mouth. (Fig. 2)
Armpit (axillary) use:
• Place the sensor tip in the centre of the
armpit. (Fig. 3)
• Lock the sensor tip under the arm, using the
arm to slightly apply pressure inwards.
(Fig. 4)
The following may result in incorrect
measurem ents.
• Heavy ar mpit perspiration
Correct: Wipe off any armpit perspi ration
before taking the temperature.
• Taking the temperature after being under the
blankets for a long time.
2. Use of the thermometer
1. Remove the thermometer from the storage
case and press the ON/OFF button. (Fig. 5)
The result of the previous measurement is
displayed for a few seconds. (Fig. 6)
2. Apply the thermometer to the measurement
site as described in “1. Correct
measurement”.
Note: Either temperature or “L” is
displayed while taking a measurement.
(Fig. 7)
3. When the reading is ready, the
thermometer will emit a [beep] sound three
times after approx. 60 to 120 seconds
(depending on place of measurement and
environmental temperature). Remove the
thermometer from the measurement site
and read the result. (Fig. 8)
Buzzer notification timing
Armpit: approx. 120 seconds /
Oral: approx. 60 seconds
Note: The buzzer notification timing is
based on an environmental temperature of
23 degrees.
4. Turn off the thermometer. If you keep the
ON/OFF button pressed for two seconds or
longer, the thermometer will beep and the
power is turned off.
Clean and disinfect before returning it to its
