This color video camera employs a 1/3 inch CCD solid-state imaging device with 470/410K picture elements. This unit is equipped with a newly developed DNR DSP technology which suppresses all significant noise while AGC is activated. So the camera is able to deliver a smooth and more even picture that has enhanced readability and saves video storage space.
The Digital Noise Reduction technology is built into the camera to eliminate any noise associated with low light environment. Ghost and blooming effects are reduced dramatically, leaving the image clean and vivid. An added benefit is that the HDD required for DVR recording is substantially reduced by up to 70%, due to the DNR technology. Sturdy and IP66 enclosure ensures the camera to stay in its best condition even under the most critical environments.
For using 12V DC power adaptor, please use 1000mA for each SDMIV35 and 500mA for each SDVD. UL with Regulator.

INSTALLATION
Step 1: Camera Cabling
A. Decide how the camera will be mounted. B. Decide how the cable will be connected to the camera.
a. Using ½” pipe from the side b. Using the cable hold at the base of the camera with or without pipe
C. Be sure to use proper waterproofing process regardless of what method you use to connect the cable.
NOTE: Warranty will be VOIDED if camera is damaged by water or moisture due to improper installation without waterproofing.
Step 2: Removing Dome Cover
Remove dome cover from the main body by loosening the four dome cover mounting screws. The dome cover is fixed with tamperproof screws. Loosen the four dome cover mounting screws by using the supplied bit for tamperproof screws.
Step 3: Securing Camera
Place mounting plate at position which the camera will be mounted and fix the screw holder and then screw 4x 26mm screws x4.
Step 4: Focus & Angle Adjustment
We have provided a service monitor RCA connection jack for your convenience.
SDMIVD35-55AIDN_ SDVD-55AIDN_rev09192008 3
A. Focus Adjustment – The default setting for zoom position is WIDE.
x IR Day & Night ICR Focus Adjustment:
o Loosen the zoom ring thumbscrew o Turn the zoom ring to set to the desired zoom o Tighten the zoom ring thumbscrew o Use the screw driver to loosen the focus ring thumbscrew o Turn the IR LED board to set to the desired focus o Use screw driver to tighten the focus ring thumbscrew
x Hi-Res. Focus Adjustment:
o Loosen the zoom ring thumbscrew o Turn the zoom ring to set to the desired zoom o Tighten the zoom ring thumbscrew o Loosen the focus ring thumbscrew o Turn the focus ring to set to the desired focus o Tighten the focus ring thumbscrew
B. Angle Adjustment
3-AXIS mechanical design allows 90° side views for wall mount and furthest angle for ceiling mount when guarding a hallway. Horizontal angle adjustment: Turn the platform to adjust the horizontal angle 180°~300°. Vertical angle adjustment: Turn the platforms to adjust the vertical angle 90°.
Step 5: Auto Iris Level Adjustment
You will need to set the level volume when shooting in the condition described below.
x If shooting simultaneously in a dark room and through a bright window x If the subject background is extremely bright or dark x If the brightness of the picture on the monitor is not correct
L (counter-clockwise) to decrease the contrast H (clockwise) to increase the contrast

Step 6: Function Setting
Factory Default
You can select the function according to your condition. Please see the above image for factory default values whenever a camera needs to be set to default again during an installation.
Auto Iris and AES Adjusting – Dipswitch 1 (IR D&N ICR & Hi-Res.) Please select the Auto Electronic Shutter mode to control exposure with the electronic shutter. The range of shutter speed is from 1/50 (1/60) set to 1/100,000 sec.
Flickerless Function Adjusting – Dipswitch 2 (IR D&N ICR)
If a camera is installed into a different frequency, the Flickerless function will reduce the flicker of video. The shutter of NTSC is 1/100; shutter of PAL is 1/120. When the dip switch is at AES/FL side, the shutter will stay at Flickerless situation.
AGC – Dipswitch 3 (IR D&N ICR) / Dipswitch 2 (Hi-Res.) If you are to install the camera in a low lux environment, switch to AGC so that it will increase the camera sensitivity. The default setting is AGC.
White Balance Adjusting – Dipswitch 4 (IR D&N ICR) / Dipswitch 3 (Hi-Res.)
AWB mode – Conventional auto white balance – This mode is factory default setting ATW mode – Advanced white balance – This mode is limited (color temperature 2500°K~9000°K
Auto Back Light Compensation – Dipswitch 5 (IR D&N ICR) / Dipswitch 4 (Hi-Res.)
This intelligent auto BLC is a newly developed digital light level control system. It is activated automatically by screen histogram (contrast) and 225 area window weighing integration to control iris gain and white balance simultaneously.
Central Window Weighted average Back Light Compensation
This method is suited for cases where the main subject is fixed within the screen.
Histogram Back Light Compensation
This method is suited for cases where the main subject moves about within the screen.
Mirror Adjusting – Dipswitch 6 & 7 (IR D&N ICR) / Dipswitch 5 & 6 (Hi-Res.)
If the camera is installed in elevators, lifts or viewing directly to a mirror, please adjust to horizontal mirror mode. If the camera must be installed upside down due to installation limit, please adjust to vertical mirror mode.

Day & Night Adjusting
The smart day and night mechanical filter removable allows changing between color and monochrome mode, and the user could define the filter to work correctly during the daytime and nighttime. Day and Night Filter Automatic mode: ***Note: The D&N should be at “on” position. Make sure the AGC/Sense-up is at “on” position. If the switchers are at AGC/Sense-up “off”, the filter will stay at daytime position.
Sense-up Adjusting – Dipswitch 10 (IR D&N ICR) / Dipswitch 7 (Hi-Res.) Sense-up stands for frame integration that is useful for the low lux environment. The default sense-up rate is 4x similar 1/15 sec.
Video / Color Adjusting – Dipswitch 8 (IR D&N ICR)
IR Adjusting – Dipswitch 9 (IR D&N ICR)
IR on/off switch.
Step 7: Reinstall the Dome Cover
Reinstall the dome cover to the main body by tightening the four cover mounting screws.
