Safety, Warranty and Regulatory Information

Your OKI p roduct ha s been carefully designed to give you
years of safe, reliable performance. As with all electrical
equipment, there are a few basic precautions you should
take to avoid hurting yourself or damaging the product.

• Carefully read the pro v ided setup and operating
instructions.

• Save all provided documentation for future reference.

• Rea d and follow a ll warning and instruction labels on the
product itself.

• SIDM only The printhead can get quite hot when it has
been printing for a length of time. Do not touch the
printhead until it has had a chance to cool off.

• Unplug the product be fore you clean it. Use only a dam p
cloth; do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.

• Place your product on a firm, solid sur face. If you put it
on something unsteady, it may fall and be damaged. If
you place it on a soft surface, such as a rug, sofa, or
cushion, the vents may be blocked, causing the product
to overheat.

• Protect your product from overheating. Make sure no
obstructions block the openings of the product. Do not
put the product on or near a heat source (such as a
radiator or heat register). Keep the product out of direct
sunlight.

• Alway s use this pro duct in a well ventilated area. Allow
enough room around the product for adequate
ventilation and easy access to the paper trays. If you put
the product in any kind of enclosure, make sure the
enclosure is well ventilated.

• Do not use your product near water. Do not spill liquid of
any kind into it.

• Be certain that your power source matches the rating
listed on the back of the product. If you are not sure,
check with your dealer or with your local power
company.

• Do not connect this product to an uninterruptible power
supply (UPS). For further information please conta ct Oki
Data at 1-800-OKI-DATA.

• Your product has a grounded, three-prong plug as a
safety feature. This plug only fits into a grounded outlet.
If the plug does not fit, the outlet may be an older,
non-grounded type. Contact an electrician to have the
outlet replaced. Do not use an adapter to defeat the
grounding.

• Install the product near an easily accessed power outlet.

• Av oid damaging the power cord. Do not put anything on
it or place it where it will be walked on . If the co rd
becomes damaged or frayed, replace it immediately.

• If you are using an extension cord or power strip with
the product, make sure that the total of the amperes
required by all the equipment on the extension is less
than the extension’s rating. The total ratings of all
equipment plugged into the outlet should not exceed 15
amperes.

• Aside from the routine maintenance described in the
documentation, do not try to service the product

documentation for having your product serviced.

Here are some of the things to look for.

• The power cord or plug is frayed or damaged.

• Liquid has been sp illed into the product, or the product
has been exposed to water.

• The product has been dropped, or the cabinet is
damaged.

• The product does not function normally when you are
following the operating instructions.

220/240-Volt Models

This product has been carefully designed to give years of safe,
reliable performance. As with all electrical equipment, however,
there are a few basic precautions that should be taken to avoid
injury or damage:

Ensure this and all other documentation is both read
carefully and retained for future reference.

Ensure all warning and instruction labels on the product are
read, understood and followed in order to prevent any risk of
injury.

This product may be heavy. Please check the weight of the
product and take all necessary precautions to prevent the
risk of personal injury .

The product must be placed on a flat solid surface strong
enough to support its weight to prevent any risk of injury.

Ensure that there is adequate ventilation all around the
product to prevent overheating and any risk of fire.

Keep the product away from direct heat sources such as
radiators and out of direct sunlight to prevent any risk of
overheating.

The power supply required for this product is 220-240 VAC,
50/60 Hz. (For any DC powered product, the figures are 9.6-

31.2VDC, 4-1.8A.) Refer to your prod uct's rating label on the
machine for full power rating de tails. Ensure that y ou have a
suitable power supply before connecting the product. If in
doubt contact your dealer or check with your local power
provider.

Ensure both the product and mains power switches are in
the OFF position before connecting the AC power cable.

Do not connect or disconnect the power plug with a wet
hand as this may cause electric shock.

Always hold the power plug to connect/disconnect the power
cable to/from the mains socket. Unplugging by pulling on the
cable can cause fraying and may lead to fire or electric

shock.

This product has an earthed plug as a safety feature and will
only connect to an earthed socket. Do not attempt to defeat
the earthing or there is a risk of fire or shock.

If using an extension cable or power strip ensure that the
total current rating (amperes) of all connected equipment is
less than the maximum rating of the ext ension cable , power
strip or wall outlet. If the product is already supplied with a
fitted power strip then no additional powe r strip or extension
cable should be used to connect to the mains wall outlet.
Otherwise, fire or shock may occur.

Ensure the power cable is routed so as not to be damaged or
cause a trip hazard. If the cable becomes frayed or damaged
replace it immediately to prevent any risk of shock.

Do not twist, constrict or knot the power cable as this can
cause overheating which may lead to fire or electric shock.

Ensure the power socket to which the product is connected is
easily accessible at all times and not obstructed.

Use only the power cable supplied. Using a power cable not
intended for this product may lead to fire or electric shock.

To avoid risk of fire and electric shock, do not use the power
cable supplied with this product for any other electrical
equipment.

If you do not connect the power cord or any other cables
only as directed in the User's Guide, this may result in a
fire.

It is recommended that the machine is switched off prior to
opening covers; otherwise there is a risk of electric shock.

When the product cover is open, do not touch the fuser unit
or print head as you may receive burns. Allow it to cool
before touching.

If the product casing gets extremely hot or smoke, unusual
smells or abnormal noises are emitted from the product,
there is a risk of fire. Unplug the mains connector and
contact your dealer.

If the product has been knocked over or damaged, there is
a risk of electric shock, fire and/or injury. Unplug the mains
connector and contact your dealer.

If any liquid (for example water) is allowed to enter the
product, there is a risk of fire. Unplug the mains connector
and contact your dealer.

Do not place containers containing liquid on the product as
electric shock, fire and/or injuries may occur.

If any foreign objects (for example clips) are allowed to
enter the product, there is a risk of electric shock, fire and/
or injury. Unplug the mains connector before removing the

object.

Do not introduce foreign objects into the ventilation holes or
operate this product with any covers open or do ors remov ed
as electric shock, fire and/or injuries may occur.

Do not use an extremely flammable spray near the product
as the product contains high temperature parts that may
cause a fire.

Switch the product off before cleaning to prevent any risk of
injury. Clean using a damp cloth. Do not use liquid or
aerosol cleaners.

Ensure loose clothing and hair is kept clear of moving parts
when the product is in operation to prevent possible risk of
injury.

Do not carry out any operations on t he product that are not
specified in the User's Guide. This ma y resul t in electri c
shock, fire and/or injury.

Do not touch the battery if one is fitted to the product.
There is a risk of explosion if the battery is replaced by an
incorrect type. The product battery should not require
replacement during the life of the product.

Do not throw toner cartridges or image drum cartridges into
a fire as you may receive burns from a dust explosion.

After installing additional memory, hard disk drive, or any
other internally fitted option, any covers removed or doors
opened must be closed or replaced and secured to prevent
risk of fire.

The acoustic noise of this product is less than 70 dB (A) a s
measured in accordance with EN ISO 7779.

The operating condition range for your product is: 10 to
32°C and 20 to 80% RH. Operation of the product outside
this range could result in damage to the product.

If a scanner, finisher etc. is fitted, exercise care when
moving these items so as to avoid risk of entrapment or
personal injury.

If the product is installed on a cabinet or high capacity
feeder, ensure wheel locks are applied once placed in final
position for use, to prevent risk of movement or injury.

Votre produit OKI a été conçue avec soin pour vous fournir
des années de rendement sûr et fiable. Comme pour tout
matériel électrique, un certain nombre de précautions de
base doivent être observées pour vous protéger de toute
blessure ou éviter tout dommage à le produit.

• Lisez attentiveme nt les directives d'installation et
d'utilisation fournies.

• Conservez tous les documents pour fins de référence
future.

• Lisez et observez les avertissements et directives des
étiquettes apposés sur le produit.

• SIDM only La tête d’impression peut devenir très chaude
après avoir imprimé pendant longtemps. Ne touchez pas
à la tête d’impression avant qu’elle n’ait eu le temps de

• Débranchez le produit avant de la nettoyer. Utilisez

pourraient être obstrués et provoquer une surchauffe de
le produit.

• Protégez le produit contre la surchauffe. Vérifiez
qu'aucun aérateur n'est obstrué. Ne placez pas le
produit sur une source de chaleur (p. ex., radiateur ou
grille de chauffage) ou à proximité de celle ci. Protégez
le produit contre les rayons du soleil.

• Utilisez toujours le produit dans un endroit bien ventilé.
Prévoyez assez d'espace autour de le produit pour
assurer une ventilation adéquate et un accès facile aux
bacs à papier. Si vous placez le produit dans une armoire
d'une quelconque nature, assurez-vous qu'elle est bien
ventilée.

• N'utilisez pas le produit à proximité d'un point d'eau.
Évitez de renverser quelque liquide que ce soit sur le
produit.

• Assurez-vous que la source d 'alimentation correspond
aux exigences indiquées à l'arrière de le produit. En cas
de doute, communiquez avec votre détaillant ou
fournisseur d'électricité.

• Ne branchez pas ce produit dans un système
d'alimentation sans coupure. Pour plus d'information,

• Pour des raisons de sécurité, le produit possède une prise à
trois broches de mise à la terre. Elle ne s'adapte qu'à une
prise murale reliée à la terre. Si vous ne pouvez pas la
brancher, votre prise de courant est sans doute un ancien
modèle sans prise de terre. Communiquez avec un
électricien pour la remplacer par une prise mise à la terre.
N'utilisez pas d'adaptateur pour contourner la mise à la
terre.

• Le produit doit être installée à proxim ité d'une prise de
courant aisément accessible.

été endommagée, débranchez-la immédiatement et
observez ensuite la procédure décrite dans la
documentation fournie pour faire réparer le produit.

Vérifiez notamment les éléments suivants :

• Le câble d'alimentation est endommagé ou effiloché.

• Du liquide a été renv ersé dans le produit, ou le produit a
été en contact avec de l'eau.

• Le produit est tombée ou son boîtier a été endommagé.

• Le produit ne fonctionne pas normalement après avoir
suivi les directives d’utilisation.

Cependant, comme pour tout équipement électrique, vous devez
prendre quelques précautions élémentaires afin d'éviter blessures et
dommages :

Assurez-vous que ce document ainsi que toute autre
documentation a été lu avec attention et est conservé pour
servir ultérieurement de référence.

Assurez-vous que toutes les étiquettes d'avertisseme n t et
d'instructions sur le produit sont lues, comprises et suivies
pour éviter tout risque de blessures.

Ce produit peut être lourd. Vérifiez son poids et prenez toutes
les précautions nécessaires pour éviter tout risque de
blessure.

Le produit doit être placé sur une surface plane et stable,
assez solide pour supporter son poids et éviter tout risque de
blessures.

Assurez-vous que la ventilation autour de du produit est
suffisante pour éviter une surchauffe et tout risque
d'incendie.

T enez le produit à l'écart des sources de chaleur, telles que les
radiateurs, et à l'abri d'une lumière directe du soleil pour

L'alimentation électrique requise par ce produit est 220­240 V c.a., 50/60 Hz. (Pour les produits alimentés en courant

de votre machine pour connaître tous les détails. Vérifiez que
votre source d'alimentation est appropriée a vant de brancher
le produit. En cas de doute, contactez votre revendeur ou
demandez conseil à votre fournisseur local d'électricité.

Assurez-vous que l'interrupteur du produit et celui du secteur
sont sur OFF avant de brancher le câble d'alimentation.

Ne branchez ou ne débranchez pas la prise d'alimentation
avec les mains mouillées car vous pourriez être électrocuté.

Tenez toujours la prise pour brancher/débrancher le câble
d'alimentation de la prise secteur. Tirer sur le câble pour le
débrancher peut casser les fils du câble et provoquer un
incendie ou une électrocution.

Ce produit est équipé d'une prise de terre et ne doit être
connecté qu'à une prise dotée d'une prise de terre. Ne passez
pas outre cet élément de sécurité, il pourrait s'ensuivre un
risque d'incendie ou d'électrocution.

Si vous utilisez une rallonge ou une barrette d'alimentation,
assurez-vous que le courant total (ampères) de tous les
équipements connectés est inférieur à la spécification
maximum du câble de rallonge, de la barrette ou de la prise
murale. Si le produit est déjà fourni avec une barrette
d'alimentation intégrée, n'utilisez aucune autre barrette ou
rallonge pour la connexion à la prise murale, faute de quoi un
incendie ou une électrocution pourrait se produire.

Assurez-vous que le câble d'ali mentation chemine sans risque
d'être endommagé ou de faire trébucher quelqu'un. S'il est
usé ou abîmé, remplacez-le imm é di atement pour éviter tout
risque d'électrocution.

Ne tordez pas, ne comprimez pas et ne faites pas de nœuds
avec le câble d'alimentation car cela pourrait entraîner des
surchauffes et provoquer un incendie ou une électrocution.

Vérifiez que la prise secteur à laquelle est branché le produit
est toujours accessible facilement et qu'elle n'est pas
obstruée.

Utilisez uniquement le câble d'alimentation fourni. L'utilisation
d'un câble non approprié peut provoquer un incendie ou une
électrocution.

Pour éviter tout risque d'incendie et d'électrocution, n'utilisez
pas le câble fourni ici avec un autre équipement électrique.

Si vous ne connectez pas le cordon d'alimentation ou d'autres
câbles en respectant la méthode donnée dans le Guide de
l'utilisateur, vous pouvez provoquer un incendie.

Il est recommandé d'éteindre la machine avant d'en ouvrir
des capots, faute de quoi il pourrait s'ensuivre un risque
d'électrocution.

Quand le capot du produit est ouvert, ne touchez pas l'unité
de fusion ou la tête d'impression, car vous pourriez vous
brûler. Laissez-les refroidir avant de les toucher.

Si le boîtier du produit devient très chaud ou fume, s'il émet
des odeurs inhabituelles ou des bruits anormaux, il y a risque
d'incendie. Débranchez la prise secteu r et contacte z v otre
revendeur.

Si le produit a été renversé ou endommagé, il existe un risque
d'électrocution, d'incendie et/ou de blessure. Débranchez la
prise secteur et contactez votre revendeur.

Si du liquide (par exemple de l'eau) pénètre dans le produit, il
y a risque d'incendie. Débranchez la prise secteur et
contactez votre revendeur.

Ne placez pas de conteneurs de liquide sur l'imprimante car
cela pourrait provoquer une électrocution, un incendie et/ou
des blessures.

Si des corps étrangers (par exemple des trombones)
pénètrent dans l'imprimante, il y a risque d'électrocution,
d'incendie et/ou de blessure. Débranchez la prise secteur
avant de retirer l'objet.

N'introduisez pas de corps étrangers dans les orifices de
ventilation et n'utilisez pas ce produit en laissant le capot
arrière ouvert car il y a alors risque d'électrocution, d'incendie
et/ou de blessures.

N'utilisez pas de spray inflammable près du produit car il
contient des pièces à haute température pouvant provoquer
un incendie.

Éteignez l'imprimante avant de la nettoyer pour éviter tout
risque de blessure. Utilisez un chiffon humide. N'utilisez pas
de nettoyant liquide ou en aérosol.

Assurez-vous que les pièces en mouvement de l'imprimante
ne peuvent pas happer des vêtements lâches ou des cheveux
lorsque le produit est en fonctionnement afin d'éviter tout
risque possible de blessures.

N'effectuez pas d'opérations non spécifiées dans le Guide de
l'utilisateur. Cela pourrait provoquer une électrocution, un
incendie et/ou des blessures.

Ne touchez pas la batterie (si le produit en utilise une). Il
existe un risque d'explosion si vous la remplacez par une
batterie de type incorrect. Il n'est normalement pas
nécessaire de remplacer la batterie du produit pendant la
durée de vie du produit.

Ne jetez pas les cartouches de toner ou de tambour au feu car
vous pourriez être brûlé par les explosions de poussières.

Après avoir installé de la mémoire supplémentaire, un disque
dur ou une autre option interne, vous devez refermer ou
remplacer les capots qui ont été retirés ou les portent qui ont
été ouvertes et les sécuriser pour éviter tout risque d'incendie
ou d'électrocution.

Le niveau acoustique de ce produit est inférieur à 70 dB (A)
conformément à la norme EN ISO 7779.

Les plages de fonctionnement du produit sont les suivantes :
10 à 32°C et 20 à 80 % HR. L'utilisation du produit en dehors
de ces plages pourrait endommager ce dernier.

Si vous montez des éléments tels que des scanners ou des
finisseurs, faites attention lorsque vous les déplacez afin de
ne pas vous coincer ou de vous blesser.

Si le produit est installé sur un meuble ou un chargeur haute
capacité, assurez-vous que les blocages de roues sont
enclenchés une fois le produit en position finale pour
utilisation, afin d'éviter tout risque de mouvement du produit
ou de blessures.
