INSPECTION

When the equipment is received, all items should be carefully checked against the bill of lading to insure all crates and cartons have been received. All units should be inspected for concealed damage by uncrating the units immediately. If any damage is found, it should be reported to the carrier at once, and a claim should be filed with the carrier. This equipment has been inspected and tested in the Nor-Lake Manufacturing Facility and has been crated in accordance with transportation rules and guidelines. Manufacturer is not responsible for freight loss or damage.

INSTALLATION

GENERAL

After the unit crate and crate base have been removed, locate the legs for installation. Attach the legs to the ice crusher base by screwing them into the same threaded fittings that were used to secure the crate base to the cabinet. Insure that the legs are screwed completely into the base.

OPERATION

WARNING: Do not allow fingers or hands to project below the guard in the ice hopper while the crusher is in operation.

INITIAL CLEANING

Upon installation, the ice crusher should be cleaned before use. Slide the ice bin into the opening at the bottom of the cabinet. Rinse the unit by pouring a container of clear warm water into the hopper, emptying the ice bin as required. Next, flush the ice crusher in the same fashion using a commercially available sanitizing solution approved for food establishments. Following the instructions below for general operation, discard the first batch of ice that is run through the crusher.

GENERAL OPERATION

Slide the ice bin into the opening at the bottom of the cabinet. Find the lever, which is located on the front center of the cabinet. Loosen the thumbscrew on the plate. Position the lever for the size of ice desired; fine, medium, or coarse. Tighten the thumbscrew. Move the toggle switch located on the cabinet front panel to the “ON” position before placing ice in the ice hopper. Close the door to prevent ice from being thrown out of the hopper during the crushing operation.
Caution: Failure to turn the Ice Crusher on before putting ice in the hopper could cause the motor to burnout or damage the mechanism.

MAINTENANCE

Observe all Warning Labels. Disconnect power supply to eliminate injury from electrical shock or moving parts when servicing equipment.
On a biannual basis, inspect the drive belt for proper tightness and use a vacuum cleaner to remove any dust or dirt particles from the motor windings.
Clean and sanitize the ice crusher on a periodic basis.
