1. INTRODUCTION
This quick guide aims to help you with quick network selection profiles for the Nokia C110/C111 Wireless LAN Card. In the Nokia C110/C111 Wireless LAN Card user interface you can select the Quick Ad hoc profile to get a list of available peer-to-peer networks, or the Quick Infrastructure profile to get a list of available infrastructure networks.

2. FINDING THE QUICK NETWORK SELECTION PROFILES

To find the quick network selection profiles in the Nokia C110/C111 Wireless LAN Card user interface:
Click the Profiles icon on the left icon bar in the Manager window.

3. PURPOSE OF THE QUICK NETWORK SELECTION PROFILES

Quick network selection profiles enable users to get a list of all available networks and to be able to join networks instantaneously, without the need to change network settings manually.

4. USING THE QUICK INFRASTRUCTURE PROFILE

Note: When you choose to use the Quick Infrastructure profile, your network
settings will be changed. In the Quick Infrastructure mode, you will obtain your IP address automatically from a DHCP server. You cannot log on to your normal domain when restarting your computer. Your workgroup will be changed to Public.
To start using the Quick Infrastructure profile:
1. Click the Quick Infrastructure profile in the Manager window.
2. Click Apply.
If your network settings need to be changed, the system prompts you to restart you computer. Restart your computer.
3. If the system prompts you for your network password, press ENTER. Do not click Cancel. Network protocols are not loaded if you click Cancel on the logon screen.
4. When your operating system starts, a list of available networks is displayed.
5. Select the network you wish to log on to and click Join.
You are now connected to the network.

5. USING THE QUICK AD HOC PROFILE

Note: When you choose to use the Quick Ad hoc profile, your network settings
will be changed. In the Quick Ad hoc mode, you will be assigned a fixed IP address by the Nokia C110/C111 driver. You cannot log on to your normal domain after restarting your computer. Your workgroup will be changed to EasyAdhoc to ensure that all peer-to-peer users are in the same workgroup.
To start using the Quick Ad hoc profile:
1. Click the Quick Ad hoc profile in the Manager window.
2. Click Apply.
If your network settings need to be changed, the system prompts you to restart you computer. Restart your computer.
3. If the system prompts you for your network password, press ENTER. Do not click Cancel. Network protocols are not loaded if you click Cancel on the log on screen.
4. When your operating system starts, a list of available networks is displayed. Select the network you want to join and click Join.
If there are no available networks, or if you otherwise want to create your own network, enter a name and optional password for your network and click Start.
You are now connected to the network. If you created a new network, it is displayed in the network selection screen for Ad hoc networks.
