PRIMARY REPAIR ACTION FOR LCD FAULTS

If there are LCD faults with following symptoms,

- No segment

- Bad letters

- Dots

the first action is to try to repair it by changing the elastomer (Shinetsu

5407805), instead of changing the complete LCD module assembly
(9490367).

If the fault still exists after changing the elastomer, then the complete LCD
module assembly should be changed.

If the LCD faults are ’missing lines’ or ’missing lines when pressed’, the
complete LCD module assembly should be changed.

Elastomer is a very sensitive component for moisture and dirt, and due to
that it can be stored only in Tape & Reel. New elastomer should be taken
from the tape just before assembly.

DO NOT TOUCH elastomer with bare hands!
