Introduction

Functional Description

The transceiver electronics consist of the UI module PCB and the RF/system PCB. The UI module is connected to system module with a connector . The system and RF submodules are interconnected with PCB wiring. The unit can be connected to accessories with a bottom system connector , which includes charging and accessory control.
The RF block is designed for a hand portable phone, which operates in NMT450 systems. Purpose of the RF module is to receive and demodulate radio frequency signal from the base station and to transmit a modulated RF signal to the base station.

Block Diagram

THF–9 consists of 2 pcbs, GP3 and GU3F. GP3 consists of 2 submodules, BASEBAND and RF. The BASEBAND module consists of 3 functional blocks: PWRU, CTRLU and AUDIO, and the RF module consists of 3 functional blocks: RX, SYNT , and TX. The PCB GU3F is the User Interface module (UIF–module).

– production testing – RF–controls – UIF–interface – M2BUS interface
The block includes microphone and earpiece amplifier and all necessary audio functions.
The RX module receives and demodulates the radio frequency signal from the base station.
The transmitter synthesizer generates a frequency modulated RF signal for the transmitter section. The transmission frequency is generated by a phase–locked loop (PLL). The synthesizer circuit contains VCO, synthesizer logic and loop filter.
TX
Page 1 – 4
The receiver synthesizer operates in the same way as the corresponding circuit in the TX synthesizer . The first injection frequency is supplied to the receiver module.
The Transmitter module generates and amplifies the RF signal to be transmitted to the base station.
