General Description of Function
The camera is able to take digital photographs up to a maximum of 5-mega pixels, and is also able to shoot AVI short film. The camera has auto adjust exposure and colour balance along with 4x digital zoom.
The contents covered in the manual refer to the latest information available when the manual was compiled. They may differ slightly from your digital camera because of changes in technical development and production.
Precautions
Please read carefully the Precautions section before using the digital camera so as to ensure the accurate and safe application, bringing you the best capability of digital camera and lengthening the service life of the digital camera.
Never settle the camera under direct sunlight, nor to direct the lens toward the sun.
Otherwise, the image sensor may be damaged.
It is required to take care of the camera and prevent water or sand from dropping
into it when using the camera at a beach or near water, water, sand, dust or salt may damage the camera.
Please place the camera away from dust and chemicals, always store in a cool, dry
and well-ventilated location. Never store it in a location of high temperature, humidity or dust to prevent failure.

It is required to operate camera regularly during long-term storage. Please check
that the camera operates normally before using the camera again.
If dirt or stain has accumulated on the camera or lens, use a piece of soft, clean and
dry cloth to wipe.
If it is required to clean the lens surface, use a cloth suitable for optical equipment to
wipe the lens lightly. Never use abrasives or solvents to clean the camera.
Never touch the lens surface.  When using a memory card for the first time in the digital camera, the memory card
may require formatting before use.
The external SD and MMC memory cards are made with precise electronic
components. The following conditions may cause the information loss or damage:
1. Inserting the memory card incorrectly.
2. Memory card is subjected to impact.
3. Heat, humidity and direct sunlight.
4. Static or electromagnetic field around the memory card.
5. Removal of the memory card whilst in use or while the camera is switched on.
6. Touching the metal contact surface of the card.

General use
1. Install Battery
1. Press the battery release button to open the battery cover.
2. Insert 4 x AAA batteries, taking note of the correct polarity as indicated inside the battery compartment (incorrectly inserted batteries may cause irreversible damage to the camera).
3. Replace the battery cover ensuring it is in the locked position.
2. Use SD Card
1. Insert the SD memory card into the slot, ensuring it is inserted the correct way up as indicated next to the SD memory card slot.
2. To eject the SD memory card, press the card end inwards and the SD memory card will eject.

Note: This camera has no internal memory, therefore must always be used with the memory card to save images.
3. Choose Focus Mode
1. Macro: it is suitable for shooting objects 15cm ~ 25cm away from the lens; when using, push the macro switch to the end marked with .
2. Normal focus: it is suitable for shooting objects 1.4m away from the lens; when
using, push the macro switch to the end marked with .

4. Power on and off
1. Power on: press the power button for a while.
2. Power off: press the power button once while camera is idle state.
Auto power off: The camera will automatically switch OFF if the camera is idle. The
automatic power off time can be set to 1/3/5 minute in setup menu mode.
3. Low power: While the battery power is very low and LCD display icon , the camera will power off automatically

5. Function mode change over
There are 3 mode settings, Video, Still Photo and playback. Move the switch to desired position for do operation of take video, take photo or playback them.
6. Date and Time Settings:
You can enter Setup menu mode to set the system date and time:

In the setting window, adjust the date or time by direction key: Up or Down for adjust,
Right or Left key for move the cursor, OK key for confirm, MENU key for back or exit setup mode.
7. Indicator Light:
Busy light:
The light will be illumed while the camera is busy (e.g. Recording movie, capturing
photo, connecting to computer or TV etc). LED light: to reinforce light intensity for recording. Self timer light: to remind user the camera is doing the operation of self timer.
8 Video mode:
Preview mode 1 : Mode symbol, Indicates video mode. 2 Auto: Indicates the White balance is auto mode. Can set it is Auto/Daylight/Cloudy/
Fluorescent/Tungsten. 3 :Indicates focusing mode. 4 640 : Indicates video resolution, it can be set is 640x480/320x240.

5 01:01:01: Time counter (Max 1 min 8sec) 6 SD card icon: Indicates that a memory card is in use. 7 : Indicates the battery power 8 LED light icon; Indicated the LED light is ON. 9 Zoom icon: Indicates the zoom level (Max 4x) 10 Memory Full: Indicates that the memory card is full.
Shooting:
1 Switch on the camera by pressing the power button. 2 Move the mode switch to Video. 3 Press Shutter button to start recoding movie, and the timer will time automatically; 4 Press Up key to pause during recording; press it again to resume recording. 5 To stop recoding, press Shutter key again; if the memory card is full, it will stop
recoding automatically.
5 Zoom in or zoom out during recording by pressing the zoom button (Max 4 x for
digital zoom).

Shooting:
1. Switch on the camera by pressing the power button.
2. Move the mode switch to Camera.
3. Press Shutter key once to snap one photo; Note: If the memory card is locked, the LCD will display Card Locked! while the Shutter key is pressed.

Self timer:
Set the timer mode to Self timer 2s or 10s at menu, then press Shutter button will time with beep, after 2 seconds or 10 seconds, the camera will snap one photo automatically.
Continuously take three photos:
Set the timer mode to Burst at menu, then press Shutter button will snap three photos
continuously

11 Playback mode:
Enter Playback mode Press mode button continuously to enter Playback mode or press it twice to enter
Playback mode after pressing Power button on the camera.

You can view other photos, AVI or wav files by direction key;
You can do operation of zoom for photo by press zoom key.

12 Setup mode: Press MENU key at preview or playback mode and then press direction of Right

Note: 1 The files stored in card will be lost due to format operation, please backup
the data before formatting the memory card.

Application to PC
1 Connect to PC
Please install the drive program first before connecting the camera to the computer. The camera default USB mode is MSDC,
Turn on the camera power.  Connect the 4PIN end of the USB line to the available USB port on the computer.
Connect the other end (5PIN) to the USB port on the camera.
Download files from the camera to the computer: When the removable disc function of the camera is used, The Removable Disk icon will appear in the window of “My Computer”. The photos/video files you have shot are saved in the file folder \ DCIM\ 100MEDIA in the removable disc. Select the shot/recorded files in the file folder "100MEDIA". Copy (or drag by using the mouse) the files to the file folder in the hard disc in which you are going to save your files.
Note: Windows ME or higher does not require the MSDC installation driver.

3 Driver Installation
Install the software driver program according to the following steps before application. Note: Do not connect the camera and computer USB port before installing the driver to
the computer to prevent driver installation error. Software installation interface
1. Insert the installation CD;
2. The system will run the installation program in CD automatically, and the screen will present the following window as shown below:

(If your optical driver has no auto execution or close auto execution function,
please directly click and run autorun.exe program located at the CD root directory.)
For Windows Vista, the following window will pop up when the system
automatically executes the installer in the CD. Please click Run SoftwareInstaller.exe to continue.

Driver installation
Click “Driver” button, and complete the installation as per the wizard. Then, reboot
the computer.

Please restart the PC after installation. The driver program is suitable to the operating system of Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000,
Windows ME, Windows XP and Windows Vista. If the following window appears, please click “Yes” button to continue with the installation.

Hint: In Windows 98SE operation system, if it is required to play the video
record, please install Video Impression first. With the help of the DirectX9 module in the Video Impression, the video shot by the camera will be successfully played on the computer.

Running the PhotoImpression5:
Double-click the icon on the desktop, or run Photo Impression 5 in “Start>Programs”.
The following window will pop up when opening PhotoImpression5. Please left-click the center of the window to close it. Photo Impression can be opened after the window is closed.

After opening the Photo Impression, “Get Photo” window will appear.

Select the desired image from “Get Photo” window, and you will find the image is displayed at the central area of the window. After that, you can select the image to edit.
Detailed operation method of Photo Impression can be referred to "Help" of the program (as shown in the following figure).

Trouble Shooting
If you problems installing the software or trouble uploading your photographs and videos then please try the following: Please note that the Nero Digital Camera can be used without the software provided.
1. After installation of software, turn your computer off and then on again before uploading your data.
2. For Photos: If the ‘Camera/ Scanner’ icon is not highlighted in the ‘Get Photo from’ window (page 42 of the instructions) then the files may be opened by using the
‘Folder’ icon. If you click on this icon then go into ‘My Computer’ on the left side of
the page, the camera will show as a ‘Removable Disk’. Click on this and a preview
of your images will appear in the window. (Please see images below)

3. For Video: If the ‘Capture from Device’ icon does not work when creating a new video, then click off of the error message and the videos from your camera will automatically appear in the window. If the videos do not appear then you can open
your video files by going to the ‘file’ tab at the top of the page and opening ‘My
Computer’

4. The images and videos from your Nero camera will be compatible with the existing Photo & Video Editing software on your computer.
5. Images and video can be automatically uploaded to your PC by attaching the camera to your computer via the USB cable and switching the camera on. A window will appear which will allow you to open or save files from your camera.
6. If the Nero camera is being used with an Apple Mac, it is not necessary to use the CD-ROM to download images & video, just connect the camera via the USB cable as point.
