General Description

Roamer enables you to take your incoming telephone calls and your calling privileges with you no matter where you go within your office. If you are permanently assigned to a telephone (home phone), you can relocate to any other telephone in the syste m. If you do not have your own telepho ne, you can make any telephone in the system your own at any time. When you relocate to another telephone or reset your home t el eph one, a ll of y our incoming calls are trans fe rr ed to the new locat ion, and your pr ivileges and restrictions a pply to any out going calls you make from that telephone. With Roamer, all telephone numbers become portable.

Here’s How it Works

When you relocate away from your permanently assigned or designated home telephone, the Roamer function key on your home telephone flashes until you return. When multipl e people a re assigne d to one ho me telephone, this fun ction key flashes when any one of them is not home.
When more than one person is as signed or relocated to a te lephone, the pri vilege leve l in eff ect can be the highes t among all those as signed on that te lephone, the lowest among t hose ass igned to the telephone, or th e one mos t re cently added. The privilege level in effect is indicated on the far right of the display. Valid values are: H (highest), L (lowest), and R (most recent).
When you mov e away fr om a telephone on whi ch sev eral people are located, the privileges put into effect depend upon the setting of that phone. If it is set for Highest or Lowest, the privileges of the person with the highest or lowest level are in effect. If it is set for Most Recent, the privileges that are placed in effect are those of the last person that relocated to the telephone before you.
Roamer uses a backup databas e to ensure that no telepho ne assignments are lost in the event of a power failur e. Roamer restores all curr ent locations when it recovers.
