At NAD Electronics an obsession for music, and a traditional commitment to
sonic and visual delity, have remained steadfast over our 36 year history. So
has our quest for ever-greater simplicity, innovation, and user-friendliness. Since
these also happen to be the values of many of the world’s most demanding
reviewers, the critics have raved about NAD audio excellence and have made
us something of a performance standard in the audio/video world.
Distinctive products seek a selective audience. NAD’s intent, by design, is to
meet and even exceed the highest audio and video expectations of serious
performance enthusiasts. Artistic authenticity—the ambition to achieve the
highest accuracy in the reproduction of the artist’s original creation—drives
every design decision at NAD. Whether the medium is music or movies; our
objective is to place the NAD owner in the heat of the action of a theatrical
blockbuster, or third-row-center stage of a favourite musical event. Solid
engineering, honest power, and a passion for realism are NAD’s recipe for
achieving this goal.
Given the excitement and impact of home theatre, it can be easy to overlook
that music remains the truest test of any audio system. Every NAD component is
conceived and engineered with this “Music First” design mandate: a commitment to
deliver a true high-delity music listening experience. So while we insist that NAD
designs reproduce the full impact of a surround sound movie, we equally demand
the purity of a brilliantly played and masterfully recorded classical composition or jazz
session. Only components that deliver this with effortless power and resolve, can
satisfy NAD’s “Music First” credo.
Just as essential, NAD components preserve the artistic intent of musicians, producers,
and directors, despite the obstacles that system-setup and room acoustics can so often
present. Put another way, NAD receivers, ampliers, and source components don’t
just work perfectly in ideal setups, they’re engineered to deliver benchmark-quality
sound and picture for real people, living in the real world. Listen, and read beyond the
hype. Visit your NAD audio-video specialist to discover rst-hand how everything you’ll
hear is true.
NAD performance is supported by our
“Full-Disclosure” specications, rather than
specs created by engineers to fulll the
needs of marketing-driven brochures.
Paradoxically, plenty of engineers do
in fact choose NAD. So do thousands
of others; less technical but no less
demanding music and lm lovers who
make the effort to research, listen, and
read beyond the hype.
Audio. Video. NAD.
NAD T175 AV Tuner Preamplier
NAD’s home theatre designs reect a philosophy quite distinct from that of
most mass-market receivers, separate components, and DVD players today.
Our “Music First” credo mandates that we enrich our audio/video products
with the same tonally pure, dynamically thrilling performance that makes
listening to music through our world-renowned stereo components so very
compelling. This stands in stark contrast to our competitors, so many of whom
conceive audio/video components overwhelmingly from a “feature content”
point of view—with sound quality found well down the list of priorities.
Yet NAD AV receivers, AV component separates, and DVD players are
second to none in terms of exibility, usability and highly developed digital
technology. While they may avoid features that are of purely “gee-whiz”
value, they are richly endowed with sophisticated, thoughtful functions whose
genuine usefulness have proven themselves beyond question.
As an example, take NAD’s uniquely enhanced Audyssey™ MultEQ
XT auto set-up and room-calibration—perhaps the most advanced
and most musically and sonically effective application of audio digital
processing on any AV component. Examine NAD’s well-considered
approach to HDMI™, the single-cable, High-Denition Multimedia
Interface that is a key enabling technology of today’s AV gear. Every one
of the NAD AV receivers and preamp-processor features HDMI inputs
and switching supporting native resolutions up to and including 1080p.
The T175, T785 and T775 add even more HDMI functionality—with
audio processing and On-Screen Display. Our intuitive on-screen menu/
display system, makes operation fast and user friendly. Look at our

NAD AV Separates
Audio-Video separate components dene the height of AV reproduction. The NAD T175 AV
Tuner Preamp marries sophisticated performance to a most welcome simplicity of setup and
operation, while the 5-channel NAD T955 and 7-channel T975 power ampliers form the perfect
accompaniments. Together, our AV separates combine the exibility and up-to-the-minute digital
technology and connectivity to control even the most sophisticated home theatre and multi-
room system. Whether watching the latest lm or enjoying your most cherished music, you’ll be
immersed in detailed, convincing sound and pristine picture as never before.

NAD T535 DVD/SACD Player (top) & T775 AV Surround Sound Receiver
It is performance rst that makes these components unmistakably
NAD. There’s no magic formula, but it begins by following our “Music
First” credo. NAD designs are shaped by dedicated professionals
such as Bjorn Erik Edvardsen, the company’s Director of Advanced
Development, whose reputation for innovative audio design is as
thoroughly established internationally as is NAD’s at large. Superior circuit
design, critical parts selection, and meticulous construction techniques
lead to superior performance, as does a design philosophy that values
concentrated, expert listening and viewing evaluations just as highly as
test-bench measurements. Today, when all too many manufacturers
seem content to deliver marketing-driven, unnecessarily feature-laden
“brochure performers,” and thus an ever-more complex user experience.
NAD chooses to pursue a path less followed. Our AV receivers and amp-
liers produce more usable, real-world power, so regardless of published

America, a third-party XM mini

With NAD, you can enjoy

you to independently control

specs our amplier designs reproduce sound that exhibits greater dynamic
impact and pure, lifelike musicality. Our DVD players’ advanced digital-to-
analogue designs specify key converter-circuit components from the most
respected chipmakers, so they can reconstruct digital data more precisely,
and thus play digitally recorded sound and picture more convincingly.
If a component, a feature, or a control doesn’t legitimately contribute to
accurate, involving music and lmsound or pristine video quality, you
won’t nd it in an NAD. If it doesn’t demonstrably enhance accessibility,
convenience, or user-interface elegance, or genuinely add value and
enjoyment to the home entertainment experience, it will not be included.
We design our user interfaces, including control “software”, in order to
make NAD components as intuitive, uncluttered, and simple to use as
possible. Our goal? That NAD owners can spend their time enjoying music
or movies, instead of fussing with buttons or puzzling over manuals.

NAD Solutions
Unlike most “home-theatre-in-a-box” systems our innovative DVD/CD Receivers combine
NAD’s award-winning, high-performance design with unique value and unmatched operational
simplicity. What’s more, they deliver the freedom to select speakers that meet your standards of
performance and décor as well as your budget. These models combine powerful receivers with
progressive-scan DVD/CD players in one elegant package. The L54 creates enveloping sound
from just two speakers. The visually stunning VISO FIVE delivers fully dynamic 5.1 multichannel
home theatre, while both bring the simplicity of controlling a full home-entertainment system from
one ergonomic, illuminated learning remote control.
NAD L54 DVD/CD Receiver
NAD VISO FIVE DVD Receiver
Music. Pure and Simple.
NAD C515BEE CD Player (top) & C315BEE Stereo Integrated Amplier
Reputations are earned through performance, not purchased with
marketing budgets. NAD’s reputation has been cultivated across three-
plus decades of unagging innovation, beginning with the iconic model
3020, the integrated amplier that captured the attention of serious
audiophiles and redened just what high-value performance could
mean. Today, NAD’s products reect our ongoing commitment to music
listening. They similarly reect NAD’s grasp of the fact that the over-
whelming majority of our customers’ musical enjoyment continues to
be derived from stereo recordings, and will continue doing so for the
foreseeable future.
Consequently, the NAD range of stereo components is no less ad-
vanced, and no less sonically compelling than our current AV models.
power supplies are designed to handle the dynamic power required by today’s music
and lms more effectively. Furthermore, our amplier designs produce outstanding low
impedance drive capabilities, even when driving the most demanding loudspeakers in
a high-performance home theatre system. FDP is an important reason why
NAD components offer a valuable alternative to the over-hyped receivers and
ampliers on the market today.
the chance of damage. NAD’s patented selectable Soft Clipping circuit gently
transforms the music waveform as the point of distortion (clipping) approaches,
resulting in much clearer reproduction and possibly protecting your speakers
from damage, especially tweeters.
Audyssey Auto Setup and Room Calibration
ZONE
The Audyssey™ auto-setup and room calibration functions on NAD’s AV receivers and preamp
exploit today’s extraordinarily powerful yet affordable digital signal processing (DSP) to improve
real-world sound reproduction. Audyssey auto setup employs the supplied calibrated microphone;
simply locate the microphone at the listening position and engage the Audyssey system via a single
remote-control key. The AV receiver or preamp automatically detects the connected loudspeaker
layout, veries correct connections, selects ideal crossover points, and adjusts each speaker’s
level and delay with precision that would be difcult or impossible to duplicate by ear alone.
NAD’s proprietarily enhanced Audyssey MultEQ XT* technology, the latest in digital
sophistication, enables home theatres to sound the way they were intended in every seat by
removing the distortion caused by room acoustics. Using the calibration microphone to “hear”
your room, a series of test tones measure the speakers’ response and the room’s distorting
acoustic reections independently, and then calculates an ideal response that minimizes the
effects of these reections – Dialogue intelligibility is dramatically improved, precise imaging
and sound stage are enhanced and the accurate localization of instruments for musical balance
is optimised. While this sounds simple, the digital technology that is required for this level of
performance would have cost many thousands of dollars
just a few short years ago.
* Audyssey MultEQ XT available on the T785, T775 and T175.
Four Zone Control
A whole-house sound system allows you to easily enjoy your favourite music with
independent source and volume control in each room or zone. With control for as many
as three remote zones, NAD AV receivers allow you to listen, for example, to the radio
in one area, compact discs in another, and to enjoy your iPod
through your NAD system in a third. Or you can ll your home
with seamless sound that welcomes one and all. Your local NAD
audio/video specialist can make it all happen.
NAD Green & Eco Friendly
At NAD, we take our responsibilities to the planet very seriously: after all,
we live here too. NAD has already undertaken to mitigate our industrial
impact upon the environment, both by imposing strict measures in all our
product designs to eliminate questionable materials or processes, and by re-
engineering our factories and manufacturing practices to abolish or reduce
levels of environmentally undesirable substances. Our universal use of lead-
free solder throughout NAD manufacturing, and the re-design of our circuit-
board production to do away with certain chemical compounds are only two
examples. Today’s NAD products are created in the
most modern, “green” manufacturing facilities available
to us, and as our knowledge grows, and the techniques
of enviro-friendly manufacturing develop worldwide, we
will continue to pursue forward-thinking, environmentally
aware manufacturing.

Digital Audio Broadcasting offers no-charge, digital-quality programming to
numerous regions around the world. The NAD DB-1 compact module is a
simple, one-cable plug-and-play add-on that introduces digital broadcasting,
thoroughly integrated, into your NAD AV receiver or preamp’s source-list.

NAD PP-3 Digital Phono Preamplier
LP records may be an older technology, but they are far from dead. The
NAD PP-3 phono preamplier can turn any line-level input (AUX, TAPE,

designed PP-3 is compatible with both conventional MM phono cartridges
and with high-end moving-coil designs. The PP-3 also incorporates a
similarly high quality analogue/digital converter, output via a USB port.
Connect this to a computer or other digital-recording device, and you can
easily archive your precious LP collection to compact disc, MP3 les, or
whatever digital format you choose.
