The MFX-C2280/C2880/C3680 from Muratec offer a variety of options to help you create the right MFP
solution for your ofce. We’ve created this guide to help simplify the ordering process and have separated the guide into
the following sections: Paper Handling, Document Finishing, Additional Hardware Options, Authentication & Security, Fax
Options and Connectivity Options. Each option includes
the item number, brief description, key specications and
notes if the option requires the installation of another
option. If you have any questions after consulting this
guide please contact your local Muratec representative.

C3680DADF – Duplexing Automatic
Document Feeder
This 100-sheet document feeder captures
color and monochrome documents in a
single pass at up to 160 images-per-minute.
C3680RADF – Reversing Automatic
Document Feeder
This 100-sheet document feeder captures
color and monochrome documents at up
to 80 images-per-minute.
C3680BIN – Job Separator Tray
This option offers two output sources to
separate print, copy, fax and repor t output
jobs. The Job Separator Tray can be installed
when a finisher is not installed.

C3680COVER – Platen Cover
The platen cover can be installed in place
of the standard RADF. This solution is
typically used in libraries or public areas in
which a document feeder is not required.
C3680BAN – Banner Tray
The banner tray enables the seamless
feeding of up to (10) sheets of banner
paper. Users wishing to print a single
sheet of banner paper can manually
feed the paper into the multipurpose
bypass tray without installing the
banner tray.
Storage Only
C3680CAB – Paper Cabinet
• Raises the height without
increasing the paper supply.
• Includes storage area for supplies,
paper and manuals.

3a. C3680PUN2 –
Hole Punch Unit
The C3680PUN2
enables users to
two and three hole
punch documents
for binding. The
C3680FN2 must be
installed.
3. C3680FN2 – Floor Standing Finisher
The C3680FN2 is a staple finisher capable of stapling up to 50 sheets. It offers two standard
output trays with the top tray holding up to 200 sheets and the bottom tray holding up to
3,000 sheets.

3b. C3680SDL – Saddle Stitch Kit
The C3680SDL should be installed when
booklet making (fully-folded and center
stapled) is required. The C3680FN2 must
be installed. The C3680SDL also enables
tri-fold booklet creation.
1. C2828CSTP – Convenience Stapler
This basic stapler mounts to the unit
and requires the user to manually staple
documents after they finish printing.
2. C3680FN – Internal Finisher
The C3680FN is a compact internal finisher
that supports multi-position stapling up to
50 sheets and electronic sorting.
2a. C3680PUN – Hole Punch Unit
Enables two and three hole punching using
the internal finisher. The C3680FN must
be installed.
C2828KB – External Keyboard
The C2828KB is an external keyboard that
simplifies the entry of e-mail addresses, file
names and more. Muratec recommends
the installation of the C3680KBH (keyboard
holder) or C3680TABLE (working table)
to support the keyboard. The C2828KB
also requires that either the C3680USB or
C3680USBB host drive be installed.
C3680KBH – Keyboard Holder
The C3680KBH mounts to the unit
and provides convenient access to the
external keyboard.

C3680USB – USB Host
This is a USB 2.0 interface that is
required to connect the C2828KB
External Keyboard.
C3680USBB – USB Host
This is a USB 2.0 interface that is required
to connect the C2828KB External
Keyboard and enables wireless printing.
C2828PEN – Stylus Pen
The C2828PEN is a stylus pen that provides
users with easier touch screen navigation.
C3680MOUNT – Internal
Authentication Mount
The C3680MOUNT enables the internal
installation of the C3680HID and
C2828iCLASSU authentication devices.
C3680TABLE – Working Table
The Working Table is required to house
the C2828BIO Biometric Authentication
Unit, C2828iCLASSU Card Authentication
Unit, C2828CARDREA Magnetic Stripe
Card Reader and is recommended for the
C3680HID HID Proximity Card Unit. It can
also be installed to function as a storage spot
for document originals or output.

AUTHENTICATION & SECURITY
C2828ICLASSU – iClass Card
Authentication Unit
The iClass Card meets ISO standards
as a means of user authentication. iClass
technology ensures superior security to
meet the needs of those customers who use
these card types to gain access to their office
buildings. The C3680TABLE is required for
installation.
C2828CARDREA – Magnetic Stripe
Authentication Unit
The magnetic stripe card reader is designed
to read any magnetic stripe cards, regardless
of which way the magnetic strip is facing
when the card is swiped. This is possible with
the 3-track bi-directional dual-sided magnetic
card reader design. The C2828CARDREA
supports the ID and Print feature and can
be used to authenticate at the MFP. The
C3680TABLE is required for installation.

C3680CGUARD – Copy Guard Image
The Copy Guard Kit provides even more
advanced security than the Copy Protect
feature by detecting the background pattern
of an unauthorized copy. It prevents the
copying of any confidential documents.
FAX OPTIONS
C3680HID – HID Authentication Unit
The C3680HID lets you use familiar HID
proximity cards for fast, secure access to
printing, copying, scanning and faxing.
HID proximity cards (C3680HIDCARD)
are sold separately in packs of (10).
The C3680TABLE is recommended for
installation.
C2828BIO – Biometic Authentication Unit
The C2828BIO Biometric Authentication
Unit recognizes unique physical
characteristics of each user. Specifically, it
reads the veins in a person’s finger. This is
a much more reliable way of identifying
users – more reliable than fingerprints. The
C3680TABLE is required for installation.
C3680FAXSTP – Fax Stamp
This option stamps documents after they are
successfully scanned. Refills for the stamp are
available (C3680STP2).

C3680FAX – Fax Unit
The C3680FAX unit enables Super
G3 fax functionality with JBIG Data
Compression and the ability to send and
receive documents up to 11” x 17”.

CONNECTIVITY OPTIONS
C3680PDFE – Encrypted PDF
The C3680PDFE supports an Enhanced
PDF Encryption and Creation function.
Documents and passwords are encrypted
using 128-bit AES encryption. The
128-bit AES PDF encryption level is a
recommendation of the U.S. Federal
Government. The C3680MEM option
must be installed in order to activate the
C3680PDFE.
C3680PDFS – Searchable PDF
The C3680PDFS allows a scanned
hard-copy original to be converted to
a searchable PDF document with OCR
capability. The C3680MEM option must
be installed in order to activate the
C3680PDFS.
C3680VG – Voice Guidance Kit
The C3680VG provides users with
audible instructions when using the
machine. The C3680MEM should be
installed in order to activate this function.
C3680MEM – 2-GB Memory Upgrade
The C3680MEM is a 2-GB memory
upgrade that must be installed in order to
activate the C3680PDFE, C3680PDFS and
C3680VG options.
