SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
• This appliance is intended to be used in household only. It is not intended to be used in the following applications, and the guarantee will not apply for:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.

Do not touch the hot surfaces of the appliance.
• This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of
an external timer or separate remote-control system.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified per­sons in order to avoid a hazard.
Wash the plates and the body of the appliance with a sponge, hot water and washing up liquid. The plates are dishwasher safe.

• Read the instructions carefully, common to different versions depending on the accessories sup­plied with your appliance, and keep them within reach.
• Before first use, remove all packaging materials, stickers and accessories from the inside and the outside of the appliance.
• Before first use, wash the plates, pour a little cooking oil onto the plates and wipe with a soft cloth or paper kitchen towel.
• Fully unwind the power cord before plugging in.
• Always plug the appliance into an earthed socket.
• Make sure that the electric power supply is compatible with the power rating and voltage indicated on the bottom of the appliance.
• The appliance must be placed and used on a flat, stable, heat-resistant work surface, away from water splashes.
• The power cord must never be close to or in contact with hot parts of the appliance, close to a source of heat or resting on sharp edges.
• Position the power cord carefully, whether an extension is used or not, so that guests can move freely around the table without tripping over it.
• If it is necessary to use an extension lead ensure that it is of suitable construction and power rating, with an earth connection; take all necessary precautions to prevent anyone tripping over an extension cord.
• Always use a wooden or plastic spatula to avoid damaging the cooking plate.
• Allow the appliance to cool down completely before you clean and store it.
• Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals which have a particularly sensitive respiratory system, such as birds. We advise bird owners to keep them away from the cooking area.
• If the appliance is used in the centre of the table, keep it out of the reach of children.
• If an accident occurs, rinse the burn immediately with cold water and call a doctor if necessary.
• Given the diverse standards in effect, if the appliance is used in a country other than that in which it is purchased, have it checked by an Approved Service Centre.
• Inspect the appliance and power cord for signs of wear or damage before to connecting to the power supply.
• Any intervention other than normal cleaning and maintenance by the customer must be performed by an Approved Service Centre.
• If parts of the appliance should catch fire, never try to extinguish flames with water. Disconnect the appliance and smother the flames with a damp cloth.

• Never cut food directly on the plates.
• Do not use metal scourers or scouring powders to avoid damaging the cooking surface (non-stick coating).
• Do not heat the appliance in vertical position.
• Do not use the appliance empty.
• Never leave the appliance unattended when in use.
• Never immerse the appliance or power supply cord in water or any other liquid. They are not dis­hwasher safe.
• Any commercial use, inappropriate use or failure to comply with the instructions, the manufacturer accepts no responsibility and the guarantee will not apply.
• Any connection error will invalidate your guarantee.
• Do not use your appliance if it does not operate correctly, if it has been damaged or if the power cord or plug is damaged. To maintain safety, these parts must be replaced by an Approved Service Centre.

Use
• When using for the first time, wash the plates (in accordance with the cleaning instructions), pour a little cooking oil on the plates and wipe with a soft cloth.
• Do not hold the plates by their sides when they are hot.
• Ensure that the plates are correctly positioned on the appliance. Only use the plates supplied with the appliance or acquired from an approved service centre.
• In order to avoid damaging the plates, they should only be used on the support for which they were designed (e.g. do not use them in the oven, on a gas or electric hob etc.).
• Do not put the hot plates on a fragile surface or immerse in water.
Cleaning
• Unplug the power cord and allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.
• Never immerse the appliance and power cord in water. Do not attempt to clean them in a dishwasher.
• Clean the plates and body of the appliance using a clean cloth, hot water and washing­up liquid. The plates are dishwasher safe.

Your appliance contains valuable materials which can be recovered or recycled. Leave it at a local civic waste collection point.
