IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or buttons.
3. Be very careful when plugging in the toaster.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
5. DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
6. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
7. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
8. Never let the cord hang over the edge of table or counter, or in a heated oven.
9. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
10. DO NOT use this for anything other than its intended use.
11. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
12. Never insert body parts or metal objects into a toaster that is plugged in. You could get zapped by electricity or burn severely.
13. Do not insert oversized foods, they may create a fire or risk of electric shock.
14. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord plug or toaster in water or other liquids.
15. Do not use outdoors.
16. A fire may occur if the toaster is covered or touching flammable

material, including curtains, drapery, walls and the like when in operation.
17. Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.
18. This appliance is equipped with a short power supply cord to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
19. Do not transport the toaster by placing hands in the toaster slots.
20. Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
21. If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used. a) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. b) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
22. To disconnect, turn all controls to “OFF” then remove plug from wall outlet.
23. This appliance has a polarized alternating current plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, as a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not insert fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still fails to fit, contact a qualified electrician.
