Specific Absorption Rate (FCC & IC)
SAR (FCC & IC)
YOUR MOBILE DEVICE MEETS FCC AND IC LIMITS FOR EXPOSURE TO RADIO WAVES.
Your mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves (radi o frequency electromagne tic fields) adopted by the Federal Communications Commi ssion (FCC) and Indust ry Canada (IC). These limits include a substantial s afety margin designed to assure the safety of all persons, regardless of age andhealth. The radio wave exposure guidelines use a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit fo r mobile devices is 1.6 W/kg. Tests for SAR are conducted using stan dard operating posi tions with the devi ce transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. The highes t SAR values under the FCC and IC guidelines f or your device model a re listed below: For Model XT1021:
For Model XT1023:
During use, the actual SAR values for your device are usually well below the values stated. This is because, for purposes of system efficiency and to minimize interference on the network, the operating power of your mobile device is aut omatically decreased when full power is not needed for the call. The lower the power output of the device, the lower its SAR value. If you are interested in further reducing your RF exposure then you can easily do so by limiting your usage or simply using a hands-free kit to keep the device away from the head and body.
