Residential Gateway
Innovative “whole home” solution for delivering broadcast and on-demand video, data and interactive TV services to the home.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Motorola’s Residential Gateway 2200 (RG2200) is among the world’s most advanced set-top box for supporting cable and satellite competitive communications and entertainment services over the telecommunications infrastructure. A key component of the Motorola Multi-Service Access Platform, the RG2200 is the single set-top interface to the complete end-to-end solution for bundled services – voice, data, broadcast, and on-demand video services.
The RG2200 family of products provides customers with a “whole home” solution. Operating as a single access device to the home, the RG2200 can deliver two or three concurrent streams of DVD-quality video, providing the functionality of multiple high-quality set-top boxes. Additionally, it can be used to offer compelling and lucrative capabilities such as high speed Internet access, on-screen caller ID, and interactive features (e.g., Pay-Per-View (PPV), Video-On-Demand (VOD)), and interactive TV applications.
Each member of the RG2200 family – the RG2200A (ADSL+), RG2200V (VDSL 998), RG2200C (VDSL, future), RG2200B (ADSL2+, future) and the RG22200E (Ethernet, future) supports a different transport technology and provides common user interfaces, design, subscriber provisioning, and management features. Subscribers will enjoy the same user experience and cable providers will be familiar with installation, provisioning, and support issues.
Using a separate remote control, each TV viewing environment may be fully customized with its own channel line up, channel changing preferences, parental locks and voice caller-ID/message waiting characteristics.
