SCOPE

Scope of This Manual

This manual is intended for use by service technicians familiar with similar types of equipment. It contains information required for the installation of the equipment described and is current as of the printing date. Changes which occur after printing date may be incorporated by a complete Manual revision or alternatively as additions.

The mobile terminal has to be installed by trained service personnel only.

All installations should take place in accordance with the requirements of the vehicle and antenna manufacturer/supplier.

Warranty and Service Support

Motorola offers long term support for its products. This support includes full exchange and/or repair of the product during the warranty period, and service/ repair or spare parts support out of warranty. Prior to shipping any terminal back to the appropriate Motorola warranty depot, please contact Customer Resources or your Motorola dealer, distributor or reseller. All returns must be accompanied by a Warranty Claim Form, available from your Customer Service representative or Motorola Online Extranet (MOL) or your Motorola dealer, distributor or reseller.

Warranty Period and Return Instructions

The terms and conditions of warranty are defined fully in the Motorola Customer, Dealer or Distributor or Reseller contract. These conditions may change from time to time and the following notes are for guidance purposes only.

In instances where the product is covered under a "return for replacement" or "return for repair" warranty, a check of the product should be performed prior to shipping the unit back to Motorola. This is to ensure that the product has been correctly programmed or has not been subjected to damage outside the terms of the warranty.

Prior to shipping any terminal back to the appropriate Motorola warranty depot, please contact Customer Resources (please refer to following pages). All returns must be accompanied by a Warranty Claim Form, available from your Customer Services representative. Products should be shipped back in the original packaging, or correctly packaged to ensure no damage occurs in transit.

After Warranty Period

After the Warranty period, Motorola continues to support its products in two ways.

• Motorola's Regional Radio Support Centres offer a repair service to both end users and dealers at competitive prices.

• AAD supplies parts support for the Control Head only. The parts can be purchased by dealers who are technically capable of performing fault analysis and repair. The repairs that require spare parts not listed must be shipped to Motorola for repair.

If a complete Motorola part number is assigned to the part, it is available from Motorola Radio Aftermarket and Accessory Division (AAD). If no part number is assigned, the part is not normally available from Motorola. If a parts list is not included, this generally means that no user-serviceable parts are available for that kit or assembly.

Note on this digital Tetra Terminal: The CPS has no capability to tune the terminal. Tuning the

terminal can only be performed at the factory or at the appropriate Motorola Repair Centre. Components replacement can affect the terminal tuning and must only be performed by the appropriate Motorola Repair Centre.

INSTALLATION

Introduction

General Information

There are two methods of installing the mobile terminal in a vehicle:

1. Using the direct mounting trunnion and power cables supplied with a standard radio package.

2. Remote mounted in the car radio cut-out (using the required Universal DIN mounting kit GMLN4740A), per ISO7736.

An accessory connector on the rear of the terminal enables you to attach different accessories (see section “Accessory Connection Plan”).

A 10-pin telephone type connector (TELCO) on the front control head panel (see page 44) provides for the connection of various types of microphones (desktop microphone RMN5069, telephone style

handset GMUN1006).

1. Mount the terminal horizontally near the driver, so the driver can easily view, access and operate the controls and accessories.

2. Ensure that the location is not exposed to dirt and moisture.

3. Verify that there will be sufficient space around the mobile unit for air flow and installation.

4. Check that there is enough routing space for the power cable connector and the antenna coaxial cable.

5. Plan the best place to run connections to minimize pinching, crushing, and overheating of wires and cables.

This product must be installed in a vehicle in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines and the instruction detailed in this manual. Only the specified Motorola parts in this manual should be used. Failure to do so could result in non compliance to the Automotive Directive (72/245/EEC, as amended by 95/54/EC).

Note, for products fitted to two and three wheeled vehicles, Directive 97/24/EC applies.

This Terminal is only designed and certified to be used for terrestrial use only.

This terminal is ONLY made for 13.2 V power supply connection. In vehicles with 24 V power supply, a DC/DC converter is required.

Please be aware when planning the installation that there is a current con-sumption of approx. 6.3A during PTT and

1.6mA even when the terminal is switched off.

In a vehicle with an airbag, make sure that the mounting location of the mobile terminal, or of any terminal accessory, is not in the deployment path of the air bag.

DC Power Cable Installation

Installation Planning

The 3 meters (10 feet) DC power cable shipped with the terminal should be long enough to be installed in most vehicles. Take the following precautions before you begin:

1. Whenever possible, avoid routing the cable above the catalytic converter.

2. Make sure that the power cable never rests on sharp edges.

3. Use grommets whenever a cable has to pass through a hole in a metal panel.

The following table lists power cables available for this terminal:

* For more information refer to section “Ignition Sense Cable”. The Ignition Sense Cable allows the terminal to be turned on and off by the vehicle ignition switch.

This terminal must be operated only in negative ground electrical systems. Operating the terminal on a positive ground system will cause the cable fuse to short-circuit. Check the vehicle ground polarity before you begin the installation.

Installation Procedure

Begin the DC power cable installation as follows:

1. Determine a routing plan, keeping in mind where the terminal is to be mounted and make sure that the cable does not rest on sharp edges.

2. Locate an existing hole with grommet in the vehicle fire wall, or use a 9.5 mm (3/8-inch) bit to drill an access hole in the fire wall. Install a grommet with a 5 mm (3/16-inch) inside diameter

into the hole to protect the power cable.

3. From inside the vehicle, feed the red and black leads (without the lugs attached) through the access hole and into the engine compartment. (see Figure 1)

4. Connect the black lead of the DC power cable to the nearest vehicle chassis ground point (using the provided ring lug if necessary). Shorten the black lead to remove any excess cable. (see Figure 2 Power Cable Assembly).

Improper handling with the power cable may cause shorting to ground. Ensure that during terminal installation the power cable fuse is removed.

Be very careful not to damage existing wires.

Locate a good vehicle ground point. The vehicle frame provides the best ground. Optimum terminal performance can only be achieved with a very low resistance ground connection. Verify that the connections between the battery negative terminal, vehicle chassis, and engine block have low resistance.

5. Place the fuse holder close to the battery. Ensure that it is not near any hot engine component. Mount the fuse holder using its mounting hole and dress the wires as required.

6. Insert the stripped end of the red lead of the fuse holder into the ring lug hole and crimp it. Connect the fuse holder red adapter lead plug to the mating receptacle on the red lead of the power cable.

7. Connect the red lead ring lug from the fuse holder to the positive (+) battery terminal. Make sure the adapter cable is connected to the main power cable red lead.

8. Carefully check that all connections are proper. Insert the fuse into the fuse holder and close the cover.

Ignition Sense Cable Installation

The HKN9327 Ignition Sense Cable allows the terminal to be turned on and off by the vehicle ignition switch.

The ignition sense cable kit contains a thin cable and a fuse holder. To install the cable, carry out the following steps.

1. Plug the lead of the Ignition Sense Cable with the crimped on terminal into #10 socket of the accessory plug.

2. Route and secure the cable with attached tie wrap.

3. Connect the other lead of the accessory cable to the ignition switch of the vehicle.

4. Insert the fuse into the fuse holder and close the cover.

Terminal Installation

Control Head Installation

The Control Head can be removed from the housing and turned to any position within a 180° radius. This provides multiple mounting options for the terminal. For example, the terminal may be mounted on either side of the vehicle to facilitate the safest and most ergonomically ideal position. The Control Head may then be turned to provide the most convenient access.

To reposition the Control Head:

1. Remove the 4 screws from the rear on the Control Head.

2. Pull the Control Head away from the terminal assembly.

Trunnion Installation

Installation Planning

The trunnion allows the terminal to be mounted to a variety of surfaces.

1. The trunnion must be securely fixed

to the vehicle chassis.

2. Ensure the surface can support the weight of the terminal.

3. Although the trunnion can be mounted to a plastic dashboard, it is recommended that the mounting screws be located so they penetrate the supporting metal frame of the dashboard.

Installation Procedure

1. Select either the transmission hump or an open underneath portion of the dash to mount your terminal. (See Figure 6 Transmission Hump Mounting (Top) and Below Dash Mounting (Bottom)). When mounting the trunnion on the transmission hump, be careful that the transmission housing is not affected.

2. Use the trunnion mounting bracket as a template, to mark the hole positions on the mounting surface. Use the innermost three holes for a curved mounting surface, such as the transmission hump, and the three outermost holes for a flat surface such as under the dash.

3. Center-punch the spots you marked and use a 4 mm (5/32-inch) bit to drill a hole at each location.

4. Secure the trunnion mounting bracket to the mounting surface with the three self-tapping screws provided. (See Figure 6 Transmission Hump Mounting (Top) and Below Dash Mounting (Bottom)).

5. Slide the terminal into the trunnion. Secure the terminal with the two wing screws provided.

Desktop Installation

The CM5000 may be desktop mounted. The Desktop Station option provides the terminal with the desk microphone, power supply, desk top tray (without speaker) and external loudspeaker. A separate data device can be connected via the 7-pin Expansion connector on the rear side

(located above the 20-pin accessory connector as shown in figure 8).

Planning

Planning is the key to fast, easy terminal installation. Before a hole is drilled or a wire is run, inspect the location and determine how and where you intend to mount the antenna, terminal and accessories. Plan wire and cable runs to provide maximum protection from pinching, crushing, and overheating. The installation planning should only be undertaken by persons who are competent and able to ensure that the complete installation fulfils its regulatory requirements, such as EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) and IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission).

Installation

1. Be sure line voltage power is available.

2. Make sure sufficient air can flow around the terminal to permit adequate cooling.

3. Choose a flat surface for the desktop tray and external loudspeaker.

4. Be sure the mounting surface is able to adequately support the weight of the terminal and tray.

5. If an outdoor antenna is used choose a location for the terminal as close as possible to the antenna cable inlet of the building. Make sure that the installation of the surge protector is in accordance with the manufactures' specifications and safety hints. The line voltage power supply shall be grounded properly.

If an outdoor antenna is used a proper grounded Lightning Protector with Quarter-Wave Shorting Stub must be inserted between the outdoor antenna and the transceiver antenna input. The line voltage power supply shall have a proper ground connection (refer to IEC61312-1). The installation must meet the requirements of any and all applicable local codes and regulations.

Dashboard Installation

Installing the Radio in an Automotive Dashboard

1. Open out the radio cut-out in the dashboard.

2. Secure the Universal DIN Cage supplied into the radio cut-out.

3. Place the Radio into the Cage and secure to bulk head using fixing holes on either side of radio.

Mounting the Radio in the Frame

1. Provide the electrical connections to the radio, antenna and accessories.

2. Connect the DC power cable directly to the vehicle battery.

Remove the Radio from the Frame

1. Unscrew the radio from bulk head fixings.

2. Slide out the radio.

The fixing tabs should be checked for tightness each time the radio is removed. The tabs are easily tightened by twisting a large flat-bladed screwdriver in the slot behind the tabs.

The frame is not designed for daily mounting and demounting.

Assembling the Remote Front Housing to Transceiver Box

1. Connect the flex from the Transceiver unit to the Remote Front Cover PCB.

2. Using screws provided assemble the Remote Front Cover to the Transceiver unit.

Installing the Remote Control Head

1. Position the trunnion in the desired location and mark the positions of the mounting holes using the trunnion mounting bracket as a template. Be careful that the housing is not affected.

2. Centrepunch the marked spots and drill 4mm (5/32-inch) holes at each spot.

3. Fix the trunnion in position using the supplied screws.

4. Route the Remote Cable as required, feeding it through the bracket (a 20mm hole is required for the cable plug).

5. Push the cable plug into the Remote Front and Back Cover until it snaps into place.

6. Snap the assembly into the trunnion.

7. Adjust the assembly as required then fix it in position with the wing screws supplied.

General

The junction box (GMLN3002_) assists the easy installation for dash and remote mount configurations. It furthermore provides access to the radio for flashing and keyloading of Universal Cryption Module (UCM) encryption keys.

The junction box enables the customer adding a laptop to the remote configuration and connecting various accessories.

Installation

The junction box can be installed horizontally and vertically. Secure the junction box by screwing the four supplied screws straight into the location as shown in the figure below. Use the connecting cable (1) for installation purposes. Ingress Protection (IP) Code: IP30 The junction box has no connector sealing and is designed for use in dust and water protected location only.

1. Secure the junction box (GMLN3002_) with the four screws supplied with kit.

2. Connect the connection cable GMKN4192_ (length = 6 m), GMKN4193_ (length = 4 m) or GMKN4194_ (length = 2 m) from the junction box to the accessory connector on the rear side of the transceiver and fasten it with the plug-screws. The cable which will be used for installation purposes only must be ordered separately.

3. All other devices should be adapted as shown in figure 14.

The ignition sense cable HKN9327 allows the CM5000 to be turned on and off by the vehicle ignition switch.

To install the cable, carry out the following steps.

1. Connect the stripped lead of the fuse holder cable only to an ignition switched terminal of the fuse block. Use the supplied terminal or any other suitable terminal.

2. Mount the fuse holder using the mounting hole, and dress wires as required.

3. Cut the thin cable to the required length, crimp the supplied red lead to the stripped lead of the thin cable, and connect it to the blue terminal of the fuse holder cable.

4. Connect the other end of the ignition sense thin cable to pin 4 of the junction box terminal.

5. Insert the provided fuse into the fuse holder and close the cover.

Speaker - and Speaker + (Pin 16) are used to connect an external speaker. The audio PA is a bridge amplifier with a minimum load resistance of 3.2 ohms.

External-, Emergency-, or Hot-Microphone; depends on CPS programming. This microphone signal is independent of the microphone signal on the microphone connector. The DC impedance is 660 ohms and the AC impedance is 560 ohms.

Vehicle Antenna Installation

Mobile Radio Operation and EME Exposure

To assure optimal radio performance and that human exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic energy is within the guidelines referenced in this document, transmit only when people inside and outside the vehicle are at least the minimum distance away from a properly installed, externallymounted antenna.The table below lists the minimum distance for several different ranges of rated radio power.

Selecting an Antenna Site

1. Install the vehicle antenna external to the vehicle and in accordance with:

a. The requirements of the antenna manufacturer/supplier

b. The requirements of the vehicle manufacturer

2. The best mounting location for the antenna is in the center of a large, flat conductive surface. In almost all vehicles, mounting the antenna in the center of the roof will satisfy these requirements. A good alternate location is in the center of the trunk lid. If you use the trunk lid, ensure that the trunk lid is grounded by connecting grounding straps between the trunk lid and the vehicle chassis.

3. Ensure the antenna cable can be easily routed to the radio. Ensure that the antenna cable is routed separately and not in parallel to any other vehicle wiring or mobile radio cable wiring.

4. Check the antenna location for any electrical interference according to vehicle manufacturer requirements

5. Make sure the mobile radio antenna is installed at least 30 centimeters (1 foot) away from any other antenna on the vehicle..

6. Motorola offers a glass-mount antenna as an accessory. This antenna should be placed as high as possible on the vehicle. Ensure that a rear-window defogger element does not touch the inductive “button” on the mounting foot of the antenna.

7. The CM5000 mobile terminal has a GPS board. If a GPS or combined TETRA/GPS antenna is used, make sure that the antenna has a clear view to the sky and that the antenna base which carries the GPS receiver is not covered with any metallic or radio frequency absorbing material.

The distance between Tetra CM5000 and an analogue radio antennas should be at least 3m.

Any two metal pieces rubbing against each other (such as seat springs, shift levers, trunk and hood lids, exhaust pipes, etc.) in close proximity to the antenna can cause severe receiver interference.

Antenna Installation Procedure

1. Mount the antenna according to the instructions provided with the antenna kit. Run the coaxial cable to the radio mounting location. If necessary, cut off the excess cable and install the cable connector.

2. Connect the antenna cable connector to the radio antenna connector on the rear of the radio.

3. In case of an installed GPS board, connect the GPS antenna to the GPS antenna connector on the rear side of the radio.

External Speaker Installation

1. Remove the speaker from the trunnion bracket by loosening the two wing screws.

2. Choose a place to mount the speaker. When mounting the trunnion on the transmission hump, be careful that the transmission housing is not affected.

3. Use the trunnion bracket as a template to mark the positions of the mounting holes.

4. Centre-punch the spots you marked and drill a 4 mm (5/32-inch) diameter hole at each location.

5. Mount the trunnion bracket with the screws supplied (See Figure).

6. Insert the speaker into the trunnion bracket and tighten the two wing screws.

7. Insert the external speaker accessory plug into the accessory connector of the radio.

Completing the Installation

1. Mount the microphone clip to a convenient spot near your radio.

2. Your microphone has a telephone-type connector at the end of its cord. Plug this connector into the 10-pin Telco connector of your Control Head.

3. DO NOT use the 10-pin telephone connector of a) Expansion Head or b) Remote Mount Head

to plug in a microphone.

To complete your radio installation, plug the power cable into the radio power connector.

Dieses Handbuch ist für die Verwendung durch Servicetechniker bestimmt, die mit vergleichbaren Geräten vertraut sind. Garantie und Service-Support

Motorola bietet einen langfristigen Support für seine Produkte. Dieser Support umfasst den vollständigen Austausch und/oder die Reparatur des Produkts während des Garantiezeitraums und Service/Reparatur oder Support für Ersatzteile außerhalb des Garantiezeitraums. Wenden Sie sich vor der Rücksendung von Funkgeräten an die zuständige Motorola-Garantieannahmestelle oder Ihren Motorola-Händler -Lieferanten oder -Wiederverkäufer. Allen zurückgesandten Produkten muss ein Formular zum Garantieanspruch beigefügt werden, das über den Kundendienstvertreter oder das Motorola Online Extranet (MOL) oder Ihren Motorola-Händler, -Lieferanten oder -Wiederverkäufer bezogen werden kann.

Garantiezeitraum und Anweisungen zur Rückgabe

Eine Beschreibung aller Garantiebedingungen finden Sie im Vertrag des Motorola-Kunden,

-Händlers, -Lieferanten oder -Wiederverkäufers. Diese Bedingungen können sich von Zeit zu Zeit ändern, so dass die folgenden Hinweise als Leitlinie zu betrachten sind.

In Fällen, in denen das Produkt durch eine Garantieleistung für die Rückgabe zum Austausch oder für die Rückgabe zur Reparatur abgedeckt ist, sollte eine Prüfung des Produkts erfolgen, bevor die Rücksendung an Motorola erfolgt. Damit soll sichergestellt werden, dass das Produkt korrekt programmiert wurde oder keine Schäden aufweist, die nicht den Garantiebedingungen unterliegen.

Bevor Sie Funkgeräte an die zuständige Motorola-Garantieannahmestelle zurücksenden, wenden Sie sich an den Kundenmitarbeiter (weitere Informationen erhalten Sie auf den folgenden Seiten). Allen zurückgesandten Produkten muss ein Formular zum Garantieanspruch beigefügt werden, das über den Kundendienstvertreter bezogen werden kann. Die Rücksendung der Produkte sollte in der Originalverpackung oder einer ordnungsgemäßen Verpackung erfolgen, um sicherzustellen, dass das Produkt während des Transports nicht beschädigt wird.

Nach Ablauf des Garantiezeitraums

Nach Ablauf des Garantiezeitraums bietet Motorola für die Fortsetzung des Supports seiner Produkte zwei Möglichkeiten.

• Die regionalen Support Center für Motorola-Funkgeräte bieten einen Reparaturservice für Endbenutzer und Händler zu günstigen Preisen.

• AAD bietet nur Ersatzteile für das Bedienteil an. Die Teile können von Händlern erworben werden, die technisch dazu in der Lage sind, eine Fehleranalyse und Reparatur durchzuführen. Bei Reparaturen, für die Ersatzteile benötigt werden, die nicht aufgeführt sind, müssen die Geräte an Motorola eingesendet werden.

Einleitung

Allgemeine Informationen

Es gibt zwei Methoden zur Installation des Mobilfunkgeräts in einem Fahrzeug:

1. Unter Verwendung der im Standardpaket enthaltenen Direktmontage-Halterung und Netzkabel.

2. Remote-Montage in der Aussparung für das Autoradio nach ISO 7736 (unter Verwendung des erforderlichen Universal-DIN-Montagesatzes GMLN4740A).

Ein Zubehöranschluss auf der Rückseite des Geräts ermöglicht Ihnen, verschiedenes Zubehör anzuschließen (siehe Abschnitt „Plan für die Zubehöranschlüsse“).

Über einen 10-Pin-Telefonanschluss (TELCO) auf der vorderen Abdeckung des Bedienteils (vgl. Seite 44) können verschiedene Mikrofone angeschlossen werden (Tischmikrofon RMN5069, Telefon-Handset GMUN1006).

Die Installation dieses Produkts in einem Fahrzeug muss den Richtlinien des Fahrzeugherstellers und den Anweisungen in diesem Handbuch entsprechen. Dabei sollten nur die Teile von Motorola, die in diesem Handbuch angegeben sind, verwendet werden. Ansonsten kann dies zur Nichteinhaltung der Kraftfahrzeugrichtlinie (72/245/EWG, geändert durch 95/54/EG) führen.

Bitte beachten Sie, dass für zwei- und dreirädrige Kraftfahrzeuge Richtlinie 97/24/EG gilt.

Dieses Gerät ist ausschließlich für den terrestrischen Gebrauch vorgesehen und zugelassen.

Dieses Gerät kann NUR an eine Stromversorgung von 13,2 V angeschlossen werden. In Fahrzeugen mit einer Stromversorgung von 24 V ist ein Gleichstromwandler erforderlich.

Bitte beachten Sie bei der Planung der Installation, dass im Push-to-Talk-Betrieb ca. 6,3 A verbraucht werden und auch bei ausgeschaltetem Gerät ein Stromverbrauch von 1,6 mA besteht.

1. Installieren Sie das Gerät in horizontaler Position in der Nähe des Fahrers, so dass dieser die Bedienelemente sowie das Zubehör gut sehen und bedienen und einfach darauf zugreifen kann.

2. Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Installationsort frei von Schmutz und Feuchtigkeit ist.

3. Vergewissern Sie sich zudem, dass um das Mobilgerät herum genügend Platz für Belüftung und Installation ist.

4. Überprüfen Sie, ob genug Platz für den Stromkabelanschluss und das Antennenkoaxialkabel vorhanden ist.

5. Wählen Sie den besten Platz für die Anbringung der Anschlüsse, um Quetschen, Knicken oder Überhitzen auf ein Minimum zu reduzieren.

Wenn Ihr Fahrzeug über einen Airbag verfügt, stellen Sie sicher, dass das Funkgerät sowie jegliches Zubehör nicht im Entfaltungsbereich des Airbags installiert wird.

Installation des Gleichstrom-Netzkabels

Planen der Installation

Die Länge des im Lieferumfang enthaltenen Gleichstrom-Netzkabels (3 m) ist für die Installation in den meisten Autos ausreichend. Treffen Sie folgende Vorsichtsmaßnahmen, bevor Sie mit der Installation beginnen:

1. Achten Sie nach Möglichkeit darauf, dass das Kabel nicht über den Abgaskatalysator verläuft.

2. Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Stromkabel nicht über scharfe Kanten läuft.

3. Verwenden Sie Kabeldurchführungen, wenn ein Kabel durch ein Loch in einer metallischen Abdeckung verläuft.

In der folgenden Tabelle sind die für dieses Gerät verfügbaren Stromkabel aufgeführt.

* Weitere Informationen finden Sie im Abschnitt „Zünderkennungskabel“. Durch das Zünderkennungskabel kann das Gerät über die Zündung des Fahrzeugs ein- und ausgeschaltet werden.

Dieses Gerät darf nur in Systemen mit negativem Massepotential betrieben werden. In einem System mit positivem Massepotential verursacht die Sicherung des Netzkabels einen Kurzschluss. Überprüfen Sie daher die Bordspannung des Fahrzeugs, bevor Sie mit der Installation beginnen.

Installationsverfahren

Beginnen Sie mit der Installation des Gleichstrom-Netzkabels folgendermaßen:

1. Legen Sie fest, wie Sie das Kabel verlegen wollen und beachten Sie dabei den Installationsort des Geräts. Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Kabel nicht über scharfe Kanten läuft.

2. Nutzen Sie zum Verlegen des Kabels ein in der Stirnwand bereits existierendes Loch mit einer Kabeldurchführung oder bohren Sie mit einem 9,5-mm-Bohrer ein Zugangsloch in die Stirnwand. Bringen Sie in dem Loch eine Kabeldurchführung mit einem Innendurchmesser von 5 mm an, um das Netzkabel zu schützen.

3. Führen Sie von der Fahrgastzelle aus den roten und den schwarzen Draht (ohne dass die Kabelschuhe daran befestigt sind) durch das Loch in den Motorraum. (vgl. Abb. 1)

4. Schließen Sie den schwarzen Draht des Netzkabels an den nächsten Massepunkt der Karosserie an (verwenden Sie dabei bei Bedarf den mitgelieferten Kabelschuh). Kürzen Sie den schwarzen Draht, wenn er zu lang ist. (Vgl. Abbildung 2 Anschluss des Netzkabels).

Ein unsachgemäßer Umgang mit dem Netzkabel kann zu einem Kurzschluss in der Masseleitung führen. Stellen Sie daher sicher, dass die Sicherung des Netzkabels während der Installation des Funkeräts entfernt wurde.

Achten Sie darauf, die bestehende Verkabelung nicht zu beschädigen.

Suchen Sie am Fahrzeug nach einem guten Massespunkt. Der Fahrzeugrahmen ist dafür optimal. Eine optimale Leistung des Geräts kann nur dann erzielt werden, wenn die Masseverbindung einen sehr geringen Widerstand aufweist. Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Widerstand zwischen dem Minuspol der Batterie, der Karosserie und dem Motorblock gering ist.

5. Bringen Sie den Sicherungshalter in der Nähe der Batterie an. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass sich in der Nähe keine heißen Motorteile befinden. Bringen Sie den Sicherungshalter mithilfe des Montagelochs an und befestigen Sie die Kabel wie hier beschrieben.

6. Führen Sie das freiliegende Ende des roten Drahts vom Sicherungshalter in die Hülse des Kabelschuhs ein und klemmen Sie dieses zusammen. Verbinden Sie das rote Adapterkabel der Sicherungshalterung mit dem entsprechenden Anschluss am roten Draht des Netzkabels.

7. Verbinden Sie den Kabelschuh des roten Kabels der Sicherungshalterung mit dem Pluspol der Batterie. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das Adapterkabel mit dem roten Draht des Netzkabels verbunden ist.

8. Überprüfen Sie sorgfältig, dass alle Verbindungen korrekt sind. Führen Sie die Sicherung in die Sicherungshalterung ein und schließen Sie die Abdeckung.

Installation des Zünderkennungskabels

Mithilfe des Zünderkennungskabels HKN9327 kann das Gerät über die Zündung des Fahrzeugs ein- und ausgeschaltet werden.

Der Zünderkennungskabelsatz umfasst ein dünnes Kabel und einen Sicherungshalter. Führen Sie zur Installation des Kabels die folgenden Schritte aus.

1. Schließen Sie den Draht des Zünderkennungskabels mit dem zusammengeklemmten Endstück an die Anschlussbuchse (10) des Zubehöranschlusses an.

2. Verlegen Sie das Kabel und befestigen Sie es mit einem Kabelbinder.

3. Verbinden Sie den anderen Draht des Zubehörkabels mit dem Zündschloss des Fahrzeugs.

4. Führen Sie die Sicherung in die Sicherungshalterung ein und schließen Sie die Abdeckung.

Bei modernen Fahrzeugen ist nur beim Starten des Motors eine hohe Zündspannung verfügbar, die wieder entfällt, sobald sich der Zündschlüssel auf Fahrtposition befindet. Das Funkgerät ist diesem Sachverhalt angepasst.

Ersetzen Sie durchgebrannte Sicherungen NUR durch Sicherungen derselben Wertigkeit. Setzen Sie NIEMALS Sicherungen mit abweichenden Wertigkeiten ein!

Stellen Sie daher sicher, dass die Sicherung während der Installation des Kabels entfernt wurde.

Installation des Funkgeräts

Installation des Bedienteils

Das Bedienteil kann aus dem Gehäuse entnommen und in jede Position in einem Radius von 180° gebracht werden. Dadurch kann das Gerät auf verschiedene Weise installiert werden. Das Gerät kann beispielsweise an jeder Seite des Fahrzeugs installiert werden, so dass höchste Sicherheit und eine ergonomisch optimale Position gewährleistet sind. Das Bedienteil kann dann so gedreht werden, dass Sie bequem darauf zugreifen können.

Zum Ändern der Position des Bedienteils:

1. Entfernen Sie die vier Schrauben an der Rückseite des Bedienteils.

2. Ziehen Sie das Bedienteil aus dem Funkgerät heraus.

Installation der Halterung

Planen der Installation

Mit der Halterung kann das Gerät an verschiedenen Oberflächen angebracht werden.

1. Die Halterung muss an der Karosserie sicher angebracht

werden.

2. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Oberfläche das Gewicht des Geräts tragen kann.

3. Die Halterung kann zwar an einem Armaturenbrett aus Plastik installiert werden, es wird jedoch empfohlen, die Montageschrauben am Metallrahmen des Armaturenbretts anzubringen.

Installationsverfahren

1. Installieren Sie das Gerät entweder am Mitteltunnel oder an einer Stelle unter dem Armaturenbrett. (Vgl. Abbildung 6 Montage am Mitteltunnel (oben) und unter dem Armaturenbrett (unten)). Achten Sie bei der Montage der Halterung am Mitteltunnel darauf, dass das Getriebegehäuse nicht beschädigt wird.

2. Markieren Sie die Position der Bohrlöcher auf der Montageoberfläche mit Hilfe der Befestigung für die Halterung. Verwenden Sie die inneren drei Löcher für die Montage an einer gewölbten Oberfläche und die drei äußeren Löcher für die Montage an einer flachen Oberfläche unter dem Armaturenbrett.

3. Körnen Sie den markierten Punkt mithilfe eines 4 mm-Bohrers an und bohren Sie die Löcher an den entsprechenden Stellen.

4. Befestigen Sie die Halterung an der Montageoberfläche mit den drei mitgelieferten Schneidschrauben. (Vgl. Abbildung 6 Montage am Mitteltunnel (oben) und unter dem Armaturenbrett (unten)).

5. Schieben Sie das Gerät in die Halterung. Befestigen Sie das Gerät mit den zwei mitgelieferten Flügelschrauben.

Festinstallation

Für das CM5000 ist auch eine Festmontage möglich. Bei der Feststations-Option verfügt das Gerät über ein Tischmikrofon, Stromversorgung, einen Feststationsuntersatz (ohne Lautsprecher) und externe Lautsprecher. Über den 7-Pin-Erweiterungsanschluss auf der Rückseite (über dem 20-Pin-Zubehöranschluss, wie in Abb. 8 gezeigt) kann ein separates Datengerät angeschlossen werden.

Planung

Eine entsprechende Planung dient der schnellen und einfachen Installation des Funkgeräts. Sehen Sie sich vor dem Bohren der Löcher und dem Verlegen der Kabel den Installationsort an und legen Sie im Voraus fest, wo und wie Sie die Antenne, das Gerät und das Zubehör montieren möchten. Verlegen Sie Drähte und Kabel so, dass die Gefahr des Quetschens, Knickens oder Überhitzens auf ein Mindestmaß beschränkt ist. Die Installation sollte nur von kompetenten Fachleuten geplant werden, die gewährleisten können, dass die gesamte Installation die rechtlichen Anforderungen erfüllen, wie etwa die Anforderungen zur EMV (Elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit) und der Internationalen Elektrotechnischen Kommission (IEC).

Installation

1. Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Stromzufuhr gewährleistet ist.

2. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das Gerät ausreichend belüftet ist und nicht überhitzt.

3. Wählen Sie eine flache Oberfläche für den Feststationsuntersatz und die externen Lautsprecher.

4. Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Montagefläche das Gewicht des Geräts und des Untersatzes tragen kann.

5. Wenn eine Außenantenne verwendet wird, wählen Sie für das Funkgerät einen Platz, der so nah wie möglich am Eintrittsort des Antennenkabels in das Gebäude liegt. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Installation des Überspannungsschutzes mit den Anweisungen und Sicherheitshinweisen des Herstellers übereinstimmt. Die Stromzufuhr muss entsprechend geerdet sein.

Wenn eine Außenantenne benutzt wird, ist ein entsprechend geerdeter Blitzableiter mit Lambda/4-Stichleitung zwischen der Außenantenne und dem Antenneneingang des Transceivers einzubauen. Die Netzspannungsstromzufuhr muss entsprechend geerdet sein (vgl. dazu IEC 61312-1). Die Installation muss allen anzuwendenden lokalen Richtlinien und Verordnungen entsprechen.

Installieren des Funkgeräts am Armaturenbrett eines Fahrzeugs

1. Öffnen Sie die Aussparung für das Radio im Armaturenbrett.

2. Bringen Sie das mitgelieferte Universal DIN-Gehäuse in der Aussparung für das Radio an.

3. Schieben Sie das Funkgerät in das Gehäuse und befestigen Sie es unter Zuhilfenahme der Befestigungslöcher an den Seiten des Geräts an der Stirnwand.

1. Schließen Sie das Funkgerät, die Antenne und das Zubehör an die Stromzufuhr an.

2. Verbinden Sie das Gleichstrom-Netzkabel direkt mit der Autobatterie.

Entnahme des Funkgeräts aus dem Rahmen

1. Schrauben Sie das Funkgerät von der Stirnwand ab.

2. Ziehen Sie es heraus.

Überprüfen Sie jedes Mal, wenn Sie das Funkgerät entfernen, ob die Befestigungslaschen noch fest sitzen. Die Laschen können befestigt werden, indem ein großer Schlitzschraubendreher in den Schlitz hinter der Lasche gesteckt wird.

Der Rahmen ist jedoch nicht für die tägliche An- und Abmontage ausgelegt.

Anbringen der vorderseitigen Remote-Abdeckung an den Transceiver

1. Schließen Sie das Flexkabel vom Transceiver an die vorderseitige PCB-Abdeckung an.

2. Schließen Sie die vorderseitige Remote-PCB-Abdeckung mithilfe der mitgelieferten Schrauben an den Transceiver an.

Installation des Remote-Bedienteils

1. Bringen Sie die Halterung an der gewünschten Stelle an und markieren Sie die Position der Montagelöcher mithilfe der Befestigung für die Halterung. Achten Sie darauf, dass das Gehäuse nicht beschädigt wird.

2. Körnen Sie den markierten Punkt an und bohren Sie 4 mm große Löcher an den entsprechenden Stellen.

3. Befestigen Sie die Halterung mithilfe der mitgelieferten Schrauben an der entsprechenden Stelle.

4. Verlegen Sie das Remote-Kabel entsprechend und führen Sie es durch die Befestigung (für den Kabelstecker ist ein 20 mm großes Loch erforderlich).

5. Drücken Sie den Kabelstecker in die vorder- und rückseitige Remote-Abdeckung, bis er einrastet.

6. Schieben Sie das zusammengebaute Gerät in die Halterung.

7. Passen Sie das zusammengebaute Gerät entsprechend an und befestigen Sie es dann mit den mitgelieferten Flügelschrauben.

Allgemein

Die Anschlussdose (GMLN3002_) dient der einfachen Installation am Armaturenbrett oder zur Remote-Montage. Sie ermöglicht zudem direkten Funkgerätzugang zum Flashen und Laden der Universal Cryption Module (UCM)-Verschlüsselung.

Die Anschlussdose ermöglicht dem Kunden, einen Laptop zur Remote-Konfiguration hinzuzufügen und verschiedenes weiteres Zubehör anzuschließen.

Installation

Die Anschlussdose kann horizontal oder vertikal installiert werden. Befestigen Sie die Anschlussdose mit den vier mitgelieferten Schrauben wie unten abgebildet. Benutzen Sie für die Installation das Anschlusskabel (1). Schutzarten (IP): IP30 Die Anschlussdose hat keine Anschlussversiegelung und ist ausschließlich für den Gebrauch in einer vor Staub und Wasser geschützten Umgebung vorgesehen.

1. Befestigen Sie die Anschlussdose (GMLN3002) mit den vier mit dem Satz mitgelieferten Schrauben.

2. Verbinden Sie mit dem Anschlusskabel GMKN4192_ (6 m), GMKN4193_ (4 m) oder GMKN4194_ (2 m) die Anschlussdose und den Zubehöranschluss auf der Rückseite des Transceivers und befestigen Sie es mit den Verschlussschrauben. Das Kabel, das für die Installation verwendet wird, ist nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten.

3. Alle anderen Geräte sind wie in Abb. 14 gezeigt anzuschließen.

Verbindungen

Mithilfe des Zünderkennungskabels HKN9327 kann das CM5000 über die Zündung des Fahrzeugs ein- und ausgeschaltet werden.

Führen Sie zur Installation des Kabels die folgenden Schritte aus.

1. Schließen Sie den freiliegenden Draht des Sicherungshalterkabels nur an eine an die Zündung angeschlossene Anschlussklemme des Sicherungsblocks an. Benutzen Sie dafür die mitgelieferte oder eine andere passende Anschlussklemme.

2. Befestigen Sie den Sicherungshalter mithilfe des Montagelochs und bringen Sie die Drähte entsprechend an.

3. Kürzen Sie das dünne Kabel auf die erforderliche Länge, drehen Sie den mitgelieferten roten Draht und den freiliegenden Draht des dünnen Kabels zusammen und verbinden Sie sie mit der blauen Anschlussklemme des Sicherungshalterkabels.

4. Schließen Sie das andere Ende des dünnen Zünderkennungskabels an Pin 4 der Anschlussdose an.

5. Führen Sie die mitgelieferte Sicherung in den Sicherungshalter ein und schließen Sie die Abdeckung.

In diesem Abschnitt wird die Pinbelegung des Zubehöranschlusses und des Erweiterungsanschlusses beschrieben. Der Erweiterungsanschluss bietet eine vierpolige RS232-Schnittstelle für den Anschluss von Datengeräten.

Die abgebildeten Zubehöranschlüsse sind mit einigen anderen Motorola-Funkgeräten nicht kompatibel. Für weitere Informationen konsultieren Sie bitte das entsprechende Zubehörhandbuch oder technische Handbuch.

Installation der Fahrzeugantenne

Betrieb des mobilen Funkgeräts und Belastung durch elektromagnetische Strahlung

Um eine optimale Leistung des Funkgeräts zu gewährleisten und die Funkwellenbelastung durch elektromagnetische Strahlung im Rahmen der in diesem Dokument genannten Richtwerte zu halten, übertragen Sie nur dann, wenn die Menschen, die sich im Fahrzeug oder in dessen Nähe befinden, einen Mindestabstand zu der ordnungsgemäß installierten extern montierten Antenne einhalten. Folgende Tabelle listet den Mindestabstand bei verschiedenen Nennleistungen auf.

Auswahl eines Antennenstandorts

1. Installieren Sie die Fahrzeugantenne außerhalb des Fahrzeugs und in Übereinstimmung mit:

a. den Anforderungen des Antennenherstellers/-lieferanten

b. den Anforderungen des Fahrzeugherstellers

2. Der beste Aufstellungsort für die Antenne ist in der Mitte einer großen, flachen, leitenden Oberfläche. Bei fast allen Fahrzeugtypen werden diese Anforderungen erfüllt, wenn die Antenne in der Mitte des Dachs montiert wird. Eine gute Alternative ist die Mitte des Kofferraumdeckels. Wenn Sie den Kofferraumdeckel für die Installation verwenden, vergewissern Sie sich, dass der dieser mithilfe von Erdungsbändern zwischen Kofferraumdeckel und Karosserie dem Massepotential entspricht.

3. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das Antennenkabel einfach zum Funkgerät hin verlegt werden kann. Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Antennenkabel separat verlegt wird und nicht parallel zu anderen Kabeln des Fahrzeugs oder des mobilen Funkgeräts verläuft.

4. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass der Installationsort der Antenne gemäß den Anforderungen des Fahrzeugherstellers frei von elektrischen Interferenzen ist.

5. Installieren Sie die Antenne des Mobilfunkgeräts in einer Entfernung von mindestens 30 cm von den anderen Antennen am Fahrzeug.

6. Zum Zubehör von Motorola gehört auch eine glasmontierte Antenne. Diese Antenne sollte so hoch wie möglich am Fahrzeug angebracht werden. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Scheibenheizung der Rückscheibe nicht mit dem „Induktionspunkt“ an der Montagevorrichtung der Antenne in Berührung kommt.

7. Das Mobilfunkgerät CM5000 hat eine GPS-Platine. Wenn eine GPS- oder eine kombinierte TETRA-/GPS-Antenne benutzt wird, vergewissern Sie sich, dass vom Antennenstandort aus freie Sicht auf den Himmel besteht und dass die Antennenbasis, die den GPS-Empfänger beinhaltet, nicht mit metallischem oder funkfrequenzabsorbierendem Material bedeckt ist.

Der Abstand zwischen dem Tetra CM5000 und einer analogen Radioantenne sollte mindestens 3 m betragen.

Wenn zwei Metallstücke in der näheren Umgebung der Antenne gegeneinander reiben (wie z. B. Sitzfedern, Schalthebel, Kofferraumdeckel, Motorhaube, Auspuffrohr etc.) kann dies zu erheblichen Empfangsstörungen führen.

Installation der Antenne

1. Montieren Sie die Antenne den mit dem Antennensatz entsprechend den mitgelieferten Instruktionen. Verlegen Sie das Koaxialkabel zu der Stelle, wo die Antenne montiert werden soll. Kürzen Sie das Kabel gegebenenfalls und installieren Sie den Kabelanschluss.

2. Verbinden Sie den Antennenkabelanschluss mit dem Antennenanschluss an der Rückseite des Funkgeräts.

3. Wenn eine GPS-Platine installiert ist, verbinden Sie die GPS-Antenne mit dem GPSAntennenanschluss an der Rückseite des Funkgeräts.
