m74i loudspeaker
For Mission’s new m70i series the ‘i’ stands for ‘improved’. Improved cabinet, improved crossover, improved
performance. Cabinet bracing has been revised to improve panel stiffness and reduce coloration, whilst crossover
redesign has resulted in improved bass performance, increased midrange dynamics and smoother treble detail.
A large, two-way floor standing loudspeaker, the Mission m74i loudspeaker has a wide frequency response
with ultra-high efficiency and extensive power handling. The rigidly braced cabinet produces amazingly
extended, powerful bass with minimal cabinet coloration while the curved, profiled front baffle offers
outstanding imaging and perspective. The sheer micro-fibre dome treble unit provides smooth well-integrated
upper midrange and treble and the whole speaker produces a performance of remarkable ease and depth.
A tremendous value-for-money all round performer, the Mission m74i is ideal for both music and home theatre
installations.
Features benefits
Unique IDG inverted driver geometry Smooth phase response throughout the cross-over
region.
Rigid, profiled MDF baffle Improved transient performance.
High Impact ABS moulded baffle Excellent HF dispersion and low diffraction to improve
stereo imaging and create precise images in space.
High dB/watt efficiency Equivalent to extra power for amplifier — greater
dynamic range.
Anti-turbulence port Clean, tight bass with optional resistive loading for
room optimisation.
Sheer Micro-Fibre soft dome HF unit Ensures excellent high and low level resolution.
Neodymium HF unit magnet Improved microdynamics and reduced signal induced
demagnetisation effects.
Laser trimmed pressure balanced dome Improved dynamics and reduced time smear.
High-quality crossover components Silicon Steel inductors reduce level dependant
distortion.
Audiophile grade Polyester Capacitors increase detail
transmission.
Bonded woven glass composite LF cone Stiff and light ensuring good sensitivity with superb LF
response.
Pressure balanced, ventilated spider Improved dynamics and reduced time smear.
Magnetically shielded Suitable for all AV systems.

setting up
• RUN IN for a minimum of 24 hours with music programme.
• Place 30cm — 50cm from rear wall, smaller rooms need less distance.
• Utilise optional resistive loading to optimise bass performance.
• Ensure minimal toe-in is used, imaging will be impaired.
• Maybe used with any competent budget electronics, will clearly show improvements as
source improves.
Note: The recommended amplifier power rating is for undistorted power. Loudspeakers will be damaged by
amplifiers overdriven into distortion, no matter what the power rating of the amplifier. For larger rooms or high
listening levels it is safer to choose an amplifier with a power output near the maximum rating of the loudspeaker.
