product information guide
m72i loudspeaker
For Mission’s new m70i series the ‘i’ stands for ‘improved’. Improved cabinet, improved crossover, improved
performance. Cabinet bracing has been revised to improve panel stiffness and reduce coloration, whilst crossover
redesign has resulted in improved bass performance, increased midrange dynamics and smoother treble detail.
The Mission m72i is a stand-mount loudspeaker with powerful bass, dynamically detailed midrange and clean,
crisp treble performance. Similar to the m71i but with a larger bass unit, greater efficiency and deeper bass
extension the Mission m72i is an outstandingly impressive loudspeaker, easy to drive and tolerant of a wide
range of amplifiers.
With its blend of small size and high power handling the m72i is ideal for music and compact home theatre
installations, where it can be partnered with the matching m7c1 centre channel, m7ds surround speakers and
m7as subwoofer.
features benefits
Unique IDG inverted driver geometry Smooth phase response throughout the cross-over
region.
Rigid, profiled MDF baffle Improved transient performance.
High Impact ABS moulded baffle Excellent HF dispersion and low diffraction to improve
stereo imaging and create precise images in space.
High dB/watt efficiency Equivalent to extra power amplifier — greater dynamic
range.
Anti-turbulence port Clean, tight bass with optional resistive loading for
room optimisation.
Sheer Micro-Fibre soft dome HF unit Ensures excellent high and low level resolution.
Neodymium HF unit magnet Improved microdynamics and reduced signal induced
demagnetisation effects.
High-quality crossover components Silicon steel inductors reduce level dependant
distortion.
Audiophile grade Polyester Capacitors increase detail
transmission.
Bonded woven glass composite LF cone Stiff and light ensuring good sensitivity with superb LF
response.

setting up
• RUN IN for at least 24 hours with music programme before serious listening.
• Position within 10cm — 30cm of rear wall, smaller rooms need less distance.
• Utilise optional resistive loading to optimise bass performance for wall mount locations.
• Stand mount on a rigid Mission stand for optimum results.
• Ensure minimal toe-in is used, imaging will be impaired.
• May be used with any competent budget electronics. Will clearly show improvement
when source is improved.
Note: The recommended amplifier power rating is for undistorted power. Loudspeakers will be damaged by
amplifiers overdriven into distortion, no matter what the power rating of the amplifier. For larger rooms or high
listening levels it is safer to choose an amplifier with a power output near the maximum rating of the loudspeaker.
