Please read this instruction manual carefully before use.
Thank you for purchasing the Minoura T-817 Truing Stand.
The T-817 is an economic truing stand, ideal for truing wheels
and it neatly folds together when not in use.

Assembling the T-817
The T-817 is supplied ready to use with just the gauge bolts and plate to fit. Please assemble
these parts as per diagrams A and B. Extend the main gauge (which holds the wheel) to the
upright position and lock into place as per diagrams B and C.
The stand is now ready for use.

Fitting the wheel into the main gauge
Front wheel - Please fit the front wheel into the main gauge as per diagram E.
Rear wheel - Please fit the rear wheel into the main gauge as per diagram F.
Fasten the wheel into place using the quick release skewer fitted to the wheel, ensuring that it is
not over-tightened.

Truing the wheel
Position the vertical gauge plate between 1 - 3 mm away from the top of the rim and spin the
wheel (see diagram G). This will detect any flat spots in the wheel
which can then be removed.
Once any flat spots have been removed, position the two horizontal
gauge bolts between 1 - 3 mm away from each side of the rim and
spin the wheel (see diagram G). This will detect any buckles in the
wheel which can then be removed.

Folding the stand for storage
Once you have finished using the T-817 truing stand it will fold down for easy storage.
Unlock the main gauge as per diagram D and fold flat. The gauge stay will fold down against the
stand for easy storage. Removal of the gauge plate and bolts is optional.
Note : If you have any doubts over the condition of your bicycle’s wheels, please seek advice
from your local specialist shop.
