Take
out
battery
container
by
turning
bat·
tery
container
lock
at
the
bot
tom
of
batter

grip
to
either
direction.
Battery
container
will
slide
out

the
battery
container
and
it
opens
at
the
middle.

FILM LOADING
1. Pull
back
cover
open
knob
up
to
open
camera
back
.
2. Place
film
magazine
into
film
chamber.
3. In
sert
film
leader
into
anyone
of
the
slits
on
the
take-up
spool
shown.
4.
Close
camera
back
.
5. To
set
frame
counter,
pull
outer
ring,
turn
to
bring
short
red
line
indicator
to
the
same
number
exposures
of
your
film_
Then
advance
three
frames
either
manu-
ally
or
using
the
motor
film
advance_

The
long
red
line
indicator
will
then
cor-
respond
the
same
number
of
exposures
of
your
film.
NOTE:
·The
frame
counter
shows
the
number
of
exposures
remaining.
Caution
of
se l
f-loading
of
film
magazine
1.
When
you
use
film
loaded
by
yourself
be
sure
the
film
has
sufficient
leader
equal
to
more
than
three
frames plus
the
actual
number
of
exposures
to
be
set
on
counter.
If
the
actual
number
of
exposures
of your
film
is less
than
what you
set
on
counter,
the
counter
will stop
before
reaching
0,
and
the
motor
will
make a "whir·r"
sound.
2.
Be
sure
to
sec
urely
fasten
the
end
of
the
film
to
the
drum
of
the
film
magazine.
If
this
is
not
proper
ly
done the
motor
may
rip
the
entire
length
of
film
from
the
drum,
thus caus
ing
problem
in
rewinding.
SHUTTER SPEED SETTING
1.
At
5 (
single) setting
on S.C.
selector
dial
of
battery
grip, shutter
speed can be
set
at
any
speed
including
T.
At T setting
,
shutter
is
kept
open,
once
switch
is ac·
ti
vated,
until
shutter
dial
is
turned
manually
away
from T position
toward
second
mark
on
shutter
speed
dial.
2.
At
C (
continuous) setting,
shutter
speed
should
be
set
at
I j
30th
of a second
or
faster
and
the
motor
advances
the
film
at
three
frames
per
second
.

Speeds less
than 1j30th
of a second
should
not
be used on
continuous
set·
ting.
At
either
operation
the
motor
will
stop
at
the
0
position
on
the
frame
counter
when
all
expsures
are
completed.
3.
Manual-
The
camera
can be used as a
regular
camera
without
the
battery
grip.
NOTE:
·At
T·B
setting,
shutter
is
kept
open
while
shutter
release
button
is
depressed.
·Camera
can be
set
to
operate
in
short
film
of
4,
8,
12
etc.
frames.
However,
read
instruction
for
correct
film
rewind
ing,
described
in
film
unloading
section.
FILM UNLOADING
A
unique
feature
of
the SR·M
is
the
mo·
torized
film
rewind.
When
rewinding, the
film
leader
is not
rewound
into
the
magazine.
Film
can be
rewound
automatically
or
manually
regardless
of
the
position
of
the
frame
counter
.
For
automatic
motor
rewind,
simply
push
power
film
rewind
switch
to
right
as indio
cated
by
white
arrow,
and
the
counter
stops
at
the
number
originally
set
when
loading
the
film.
For
manual
rewind,
set
S.C.
selector
dial
at
OFF
and
rewind
by
mean
of
film
rewind
crank, holding
film
rewind
lever
in
direction
of
white
arrow.
NOTE:
To
rewind
film
completely
by
motor,
do
not
at
any
time
change
setting
of
frame
counter
from
its
original
position.
If
counter
is
changed
rewinding
film will
have
to
be
completed
manually
.

HOW
TO
CHANGE LENS
To
take
lens
off
camera
body,
push
lens
release
button
down
and
turn
lens
counter·
clockwise
.
To
mount
lens,
line
up red
dot
on
lens
with
red
dot
on
camera
and
turn
lens
clock·
wise
until
it
clicks.
MIRROR LOCK
For
special
occasion
such
as
photomicro-
graphy
that
requires
the
least
vibration
of
camera,
you
may
lock
up
the
mirror.
Simply
turn
mirror
lock-up
control
down-
ward (clockwise) until
it
stpos.
Mirror
will
return
to
its
usual
operation
when
lock
is
returned
to
original
position.
NOTE:
Mirror
lock
operates
independently
of
shutter
release
and
film
advance
and
can
be
activated
anytime
without
the
loss
of
film.

FLASH SYNCHRONIZATION
Camera
is
equipped
with
both
FP
and
X
synchronization
terminals.
·FP
bulb
is
synchronized
to
any
shutter
speed
using
FP
terminal.
·X
terminal
allows
to
fire
electronic
flash
(
strobe) at 1/6o
th
of a second
or
slower
.
• M
class
bulb
is
synchronized
at 1/15
th
of
a
second
or
slower.
NOTE:
·5
setting
on S.C.
selector
dial
or
manual
operation
is
recomended
for
flash
photo·
graphy.

Battey
Checker
How to
check
batteries
1.
Loosen
the
battery grip
lock
by
turni
ng
it
counterclockwise
.
2.
After
turning
it
counterclockwise
as
far
as
it
will
go,
remove
the
battery
grip from
the
camera
bod y
by
sliding
it
off
the
moun
ting bracket tow
ard
the
rear
.

Make
sure
the S.C.
selector
of
battery
grip
is
not
in
the
OFF
position.
4.
Slide
the
battery
checker
bracket
all
the
way
into
the
shoe
of
the
battery
grip
as
shown
and
hold
it
there.
5.
At
this
point,
test
lamp
will
light
if
bat·
teries
are
still
capable
of
transporting
film
at
2.5
frames
per
second.
If
test
lamp
does
not
light,
fresh
batteries
should
be
inserted
.
CAUTION:
·Be
sure
to slide
battery
checker
into
the
shoe
of
battery
grip
all
the
way
.
• Do
not
lea ve
battery
checker
in
position
for
more
than 5 continuous
seconds,
as
this
will
weaken
batteries.
·Be
careful
not
to
touch
terminals.

operate
the
SR·M
from a distance.

remote
control
cord·S
is

wildlife,
squeeze

easily

How

use

Insert
the
plug

remote

jack
on
the
front
of
part
of
the
battery grip
near
the

shoe.

Be
sure
the

selector
dial
is

OFF
position.

and

transport
.

This
is a
versatile
high·quality
timer
capable

actuating
exposure

adjustable
periods

broad
range

intervals

second
to
10
minutes.
More
versatile
than
the
Intervalometer·
PM,
this
unit
can be used
for
sampling
(a
series
of
continuous
sequences
taken
dur·
ing a certain
period
at
regular
intervals
),
and
indent
sampling
(a
series
of
single·
frame
exposure
taken
during a certain
period
at
regular
intervals
), as well as
ordinary
time·lapse
work
and
motion
analyses, nature
studies
of
animals
and
plants,
traffic
and
meteorological
studies,
etc.

Intervalometer-PM
The I ntervalometer·PM
is a kind
of
repeat-
ing
timer.
This
one
enables
you
to
take
pic·
tures
at
intervals
of
from
0.5
to
60
seconds
between (single·frame) exposures.

CARE AND STORAGE

Don't
touch
the
lens.
If
you
inadvertently
stain
it,
use a
rubber
ball
blower
to
blow
off
dust
from
its
surface,
gently
wipe
its
sur·
face
outwardly
from
the
center
with a lens
cleaning
cloth
or
tissue
.
Try
to
keep
the
lens
clean.
Brush
it
with
a
soft
brush
from
time
to
time.
Don't
touch
the
mirror,
but
brush
it
with
a
soft
bru
sh.
When
storing
the
camera,
set
the
distance
scale
to
= ,
release
the
shutter,
and
put
the
camera
in
the
.leather
case.
Do
not
drop
or
jar
the
camera.
Do
not
store
the
camera
in
high
tempera·
ture
or
humidity.
When
leavinig
the
camera
unused
for
a
long
time,
remove
the
batteries
from
the camera. When
storing
the
camera
for a long
period
of
time,
put
in
original
packaging
with
a
small
bag
of
Silica
Gel.
The
Silica
'Gel is a
drying
agent.
CAUTION:
Liquid
lens
cleaner
may
be
used
only
when
fingerprints
or
scum
formation
cannot
be
removed
with
lens
tissue.
In
this
case, use a
drop
of
lens
cleaner
on
the
cleaning
paper
or
cloth
and
wipe
the
lens
gently
from
its
center
to
corner.
Be
sure
not
to
drop
the
cleaner
directly
on
the
lens.
