What is an Energy St ar Copier ?
Energy Star Copiers have a feat ur e that allo ws t hem to aut omati cally turn off or "go to sleep" after a period of inactivit y, en sur ing ni gh t and w eeken d sh ut off . Thi s auto-f eatu re can reduce a co pier’s annual electricity cos ts by over 6 0 percent. In addition, high speed copiers will be set to automatically make double sided copies. An organization’s paper costs can be reduce by $60 a month and the volume of paper sen t in to t he was te stream will decline. It takes 1 0 t imes mor e ener gy to produce a piece of paper than it do es to mak e a single copy on a copier. Therefore, us ing les s p aper also means decreased nat ional en erg y consu mpti on .
