1.2 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

These terminals are part of a range of multifunction office equipment. The product consist of a colour scanner with a 600 dpi resolution and a black and white printer with
1200 dpi resolution. The documents to be processed are read by means of a sheet feeder scanner using CCD sensor
technology via the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) or via the exposition window for bulky documents.
The control panel comprises:
• a 7-inch colour graphic display equipped with a touch screen that allows users to view the command or alert messages and control the terminal,
• a row of terminal function and command keys.
The keyboard part comprises:
• a numerical keyboard,
• a finger print reader that allows user authentication for restricted functions or secured printing (a row of LEDs that visually invite users to log in, with the finger print).
• a USB connector.
The chip card reader allow to validate consumables and to back up of user functions (directory content and user settings)

3. FUNCTIONING

The equipment is a Group 3 multifunction fax functioning in accordance with the UIT-T T30 recommendation.
It consists of a black and white laser printer, a CCD (Charge Coupled Device) colour ADF scanner, a colour flatbed scanner, a front panel with a graphic colour screen equipped with a touchscreen and command keys (refer to the User Guide for a more complete description of the front panels).
It allows the following operations to be carried out:
• B&W Fax transmission and reception on the switched telephone network using the V34 protocol (max. 33.6 kbits/s) and the V17 protocol (max. 14.4 kbits/s),
• Internet e-mail transmission on the switched telephone network using the V34 protocol,
• B&W photocopying,
• Local printer via a USB interface PC connection,
• Network printer and scanner, via a local area network (LAN),
• E-mail transmission and reception on the local area network,
• Securised printer with data storage in hard disk,
• Pictures, pdf files printing from USB key. Direct scan on USB key.
Remark(s): The machine does not have any facilities for managing an external telephone answering
machine connected on the same line (with a stackable plug). It is preferable to use a dedicated phone line for multi-function use.
The machine’s electronics is made up of:
- CPU board with hard disk,
- front panel board,
- keyboard ,
- mezzanine board with finger print sensor,
- networking board in the scanner module,
- chip card reader board,
- two USB board.
For the printer part, refer to the printer section. The power supply is provided by a power supply board that is located in the printer part.
Remark(s): (for technicians). The LAN interface conform to the SELV (very low safety voltage)
safety level. The telephone line input conforms to the TRT3 safety level.
Before performing any intervention on the CPU board, disconnect the phone lead.
Before performing any intervention on the CPU electronic circuit board or the mezzanine board, it is also preferable to:
- 11 - DN 30003293 92 - 03
• Set the main switches to the OFF position,
• Disconnect all external interconnect leads (LAN, PTSN, USB),
• Disconnect the mains lead.

3.1 MAINBOARD

The CPU board is based on the ZORAN 4230 circuit which performs in particular the function of microprocessor.
The executable code is stored in the flash memory Z1101. This flash memory is divided in two zones: a zone reserved for the storage of the code and a zone
reserved for the storage of the documents. The code is loaded from this flash memory into DDR2-SDRAM, and the microprocessor executes its
instructions from the DDR2-SDRAM. Before printing, the documents to be printed are stored as bitmaps in DDR2-SDRAM. The DDR2-SDRAM is also used as the working memory for the ZORAN 4230.

3.2 HFFV2 LCD PANEL TOP EQUIPPED SUB ASSEMBLY

The “HFFv2 LCD PANEL TOP EQUIPPED” is a Front panel Sub assembly, done to be managed and tested independently.
The “HFFv2 LCD PANEL TOP EQUIPPED” is done from:
• The HFxV2 Front panel board
• A 7 inch LCD panel with integrated touch screen
• 2 plastic covers
• HFFv2 Front panel keys
DESCRIPTION
The front panel board manages the following functions:
• Keypad and LEDs for Front panel touch,
• Video conversion to drive an Analog 7 inch LCD panel,
• Touch Screen function,
• LCD panel inverter,
• Finger print, which is putted in a mezzanine.
The Front panel board integrates a PIC controller (with integrated flash), to manage the following functions:
• Touch screen management,
• Keypad from Front panel board and Keypad board,
• Leds from Front panel and drive the shift register for Finger print on Keypad board,
• Drive the LCD panel inverter . The PIC controller is driven from the Mainboard UC through an SPI serial line. Diagram of the Connector Locations

Attention - The “HFFv2 LCD PANEL TOP EQUIPPED” integrates a touch screen panel, that
need to be calibrated. The calibration data are stored in the Mainboard Eeprom. In case of replacement from the Front panel Sub assembly, the touch screen panel calibration have to be performed

3.3 HFFV2 KEYPAD SUB ASSEMBLY

The “HFFV2 Keypad W/FP Reader Equipped” is a Keypad sub-assembly, done to be managed and tested independently.
The “HFFV2 Keypad W/FP Reader Equipped” is done from:
• The HFxv2 Keypad board
• The HFxv2 Keypad Mezzanine board
• One plastic cover and 2 light guides
• HFFv2 Keypad ASM
• One metal part
- 25 - DN 30003293 92 - 03
3.3.1 KEYPAD BOARD The Keypad board manages the following functions:
- 12 Digital Keypad touches,
- LEDs for Finger print sensor light guide,
- Connector to Keypad Mezzanine PCBA.
