Using this Owner's Manual
This Supplementary Owner's Manual contains all important equipment information, operating instructions and technical data of the MINI Clubvan that differ from the MINI Clubman. Descriptions that are not contained in this Supplementary Owner's Manual can be found in the Owner's Manual of the vehicle or in the additional brochures that may be included in the onboard literature.
Should you wish to sell your MINI at some time in the future, remember to hand over this Supplementary Owner's Manual to the new owner; it is an important part of the vehicle.
Additional sources of information
Should you have any other questions, your MINI dealer will be glad to advise you at any time.
You can find more information about the MINI, for example about the technology it features, on the Internet at www.MINI.com.
For this reason, this Supplementary Owner's Handbook also describes and illustrates some equipment that may not be available in your vehicle, for example due to the special options or national-market version selected.
This also applies to safety related functions and systems.
If equipment and models are not described in this Supplementary Owner's Handbook, please consult the accompanying Owner's Manual.
Status of this Owner's Manual at time of printing
The high level of safety and quality of the MINI vehicles is ensured through continuous development. In rare cases, therefore, the features described in this Supplementary Owner's Manual may differ from those in your vehicle.

Safety belts
Your MINI Clubvan is equipped with safety belts for the driver and passenger.
Also follow the instructions for using safety belts in the Owner's Manual for the MINI/ MINI Clubman.
Transporting children safely
Since there is no rear seat, please note the following specifics about transporting children safely.
Also follow the general instructions for "Transporting children safely" in the
Owner's Manual for the MINI/MINI Clubman.<
The right place for children
Note
Do not leave children unattended in the
vehicle; otherwise, they could endanger themselves and/or other persons by opening the doors, for example.<
Child seat security
The safety belt for the passenger can be prevented from being pulled out in order to secure child restraint systems.
Child restraint system with tether strap
Use the tether strap securing eye to secure child restraint systems only; otherwise, the
securing eye could be damaged.<
Children in the front passenger seat
Should it be necessary to use a child restraint system on the front passenger seat, make sure that the front and side airbags for the front passenger side are deactivated.
For more information on automatic deactivation of the front passenger airbags, refer to the Owner's Manual for the MINI/MINI Clubman.
If a child restraint system is used on the
front passenger seat, the front passenger airbags must be deactivated; otherwise, a child traveling in that seat faces an increased risk of injury if the airbags are triggered, even with a child restraint system.<
Children 13 years of age or older must be
buckled in with a safety belt as soon as there no longer is any child restraint system that is appropriate for their age, size and weight.<
6
There is one additional securing eye for child restraint systems with tether straps, arrow. The position is indicated.
Placement of the tether strap
Make sure the upper retaining strap does
not run over sharp edges and is not twisted as it passes to the top securing eye. Otherwise, the strap will not properly secure the child restraint system in the event of an accident.<
