Save these instructions - This operator’s manual contains important safety and operating instructions for the MILWAUKEE 12V 2-Beam Plumb Laser. Before using the Plumb Laser, read this operator’s manual, your battery pack and charger operator’s manual, and all labels on the battery pack, charger and Plumb Laser.
LASER SAFETY
• Laser light - Do not stare into beam or view directly with optical instruments. Do not point laser light at others. Laser light can cause eye
damage.
• Avoid exposure to laser radiation. Laser may emit hazardous radiation.
• Do not point laser at re ective surfaces. Un- predictable results may occur.
WORK AREA SAFETY
• Keep children and bystanders away while operating Plumb Laser. Store idle plumb laser out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the tool or these instructions to operate them.
• Avoid dangerous environments. Do not use
in rain, snow, damp or wet locations. Do not use in the presence of explosive atmospheres (gaseous fumes, dust or fl ammable materials) because sparks may be generated when inserting or removing battery pack, possibly causing fi re.
PERSONAL SAFETY
• Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating plumb laser. Do not use while you are tired or under the infl uence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
A moment of inattention may result in serious personal injury.
• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control
in unexpected situations.
BA TTER Y USE AND CARE
• Plumb Laser is rated for 12 V DC only. Use only appropriate MILWAUKEE battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fi re.
• Remove the battery pack before storing. Store
in a cool, dry place. Do not store where tem-
peratures may exceed 120°F (50°C) such as in direct sunlight, a vehicle or metal building during the summer.
• Recharge only with the charger specifi ed by
the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for
one type of battery pack may create a risk of fi re when used with another battery pack.
SERVICE
• Have your Plumb Laser serviced by a qualifi ed repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the tool
is maintained.
• Do not disassemble. Incorrect reassembly may result in the risk of electric shock or fi re. If it is dam- aged, take it to a MILWAUKEE service facility.
• Store in a cool, dry place. Do not store where temperatures may exceed 120°F (50°C) such as in direct sunlight, a vehicle or metal building during the summer.
• Do not remove or deface labels. Maintain labels and nameplates. These carry important
information. If unreadable or missing, contact a MILWAUKEE service facility for a free replace-
ment.

ASSEMBLY
WARNING Recharge only with the char-
ger specifi ed for the battery. For specifi c charg- ing instructions, read the operator’s manual supplied with your charger and battery.
Inserting/Removing the Battery
To remove the battery, push in the release buttons and pull the battery pack away from the tool.
To insert the battery, slide the pack into the body of the tool. Make sure it latches securely into place.
OPERATION
Using the 2-Beam Plumb Laser
Turn the plumb laser on and off by pressing the on/ off button. The power indicator will go on or off. The power indicator will blink when the battery pack has less than 1 hour of run time left.
Place the plumb laser in the desired location. If the laser beams begins to fl ash, the tool is more than 4° out of level. Adjust the plumb laser until the laser beams do not fl ash. NOTE: The plumb laser is self leveling within 4° - it does not need to be perfectly fl at.

MAINTENANCE
WARNING T o reduce the risk of injury ,
always unplug the charger and remove the battery pack from the charger or tool before performing any maintenance. Never disas­semble the tool, battery pack or charger. Contact a MILWAUKEE service facility for ALL repairs.
Maintaining Tool
Keep your tool, battery pack and charger in good re­pair by adopting a regular maintenance program.
If the tool does not start or operate at full power with a fully charged battery pack, clean the contacts on the battery pack. If the tool still does not work properly, return the tool, charger and battery pack, to a MILWAUKEE service facility for repairs.
Checking Accuracy of the Plumb Laser
With a ceiling height of 10’ to 20', turn on the plumb laser.
Step A - Mark the location of the top and bottom beams.
Step B - Rotate the plumb laser 180° and line up the bottom beam with the mark made in Step A. The top beam should line up with the mark from Step A. If they do not line up, the laser is out of plumb. If this happens, contact a MILWAUKEE service facility.
WARNING To reduce the risk of per-
sonal injury and damage, never immerse your tool, battery pack or charger in liquid or allow a liquid to fl ow inside them.
Cleaning the Laser Windows
Clean the laser windows with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to keep them clean and clear. Remove battery pack before cleaning.

Cleaning
Clean dust and debris from charger and tool vents. Keep tool handles clean, dry and free of oil or grease. Use only mild soap and a damp cloth to clean the tool, battery pack and charger since certain cleaning agents and solvents are harmful to plastics and other insulated parts. Some of these include gasoline, turpentine, lacquer thinner, paint thinner, chlorinated cleaning solvents, ammonia and household detergents containing ammonia. Never use flammable or combustible solvents around tools.
FIVE YEAR TOOL LIMITED WARRANTY
Every MILWAUKEE power tool (including cordless product – tool, battery pack(s) and battery charger) is war­ranted to the original purchaser only to be free from defects in material and workmanship. Subject to certain exceptions, MILWAUKEE will repair or replace any part on an electric power tool which, after examination, is determined by MILWAUKEE to be defective in material or workmanship for a period of fi ve (5) years* after the date of purchase. Return the electric power tool and a copy of proof of purchase to a MILWAUKEE fac­tory Service Center location or MILWAUKEE Authorized Service Station, freight prepaid and insured. This warranty does not apply to damage that MILWAUKEE determines to be from repairs made or attempted by anyone other than MILWAUKEE authorized personnel, misuse, alterations, abuse, normal wear and tear , lack of maintenance, or accidents.
*Every MILWAUKEE V™-technology LITHIUM-ION Battery Pack and XC LITHIUM-ION Battery Pack is warranted for fi ve (5) years / 2000 charges from the date of purchase, whichever fi rst occurs. The fi rst 1000 charges or 2 years of the warranty, whichever fi rst occurs, are covered through free replacement of the defective battery. This means that for the earlier of the fi rst 1000 charges or two (2) years from the date of purchase/fi rst charge, a replacement battery will be provided to the customer for any defective battery free of charge. Thereafter, the remaining charges up to a total of 2000 or the remainder of the fi ve (5) year period from the date of purchase, whichever fi rst occurs, will be covered on a pro rata basis. This means that every customer gets an additional 1000 charges or three (3) years of pro rata warranty on the V™-technology LITHIUM-ION Battery Pack and XC LITHIUM-ION Battery Pack depending upon the amount of use.
*The warranty period for ALL non V™-technology and non XC LITHIUM-ION battery packs is two (2) years from the date of purchase.
*The warranty period for M12 2-Beam Laser & M12 Power Port, all Ni-CD Battery Packs, Work Lights (cord­less fl ashlights), Job Site Radios, and Trade Titan™ Industrial Work Carts is one (1) year from the date of purchase.
Warranty Registration is not necessary to obtain the applicable warranty on a MILWAUKEE product. The manufacturing date of the product will be used to determine the warranty period if no proof of purchase is provided at the time warranty service is requested.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE EXCLUSIVE REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT REMEDIES DESCRIBED HEREIN IS A CONDITION OF THE CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF EVERY MILWAUKEE PRODUCT. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THIS CONDITION, YOU SHOULD NOT PURCHASE THE PRODUCT. INSTRUCTIONS DE SÉCURITÉ
RELA TIVES AU LASER
• Lampe laser – Ne pas fi xer directement le faisceau ou l’examiner directement au moyen d’instruments d’optique. Ne pas diriger la lam­pe laser vers les autres personnes. La lampe
laser peut provoquer des lésions oculaires.
• Éviter de s’exposer au rayonnement laser.
Le laser peut émettre des rayonnements dan­gereux.
• Ne pas diriger le laser vers des surfaces ré-
échissantes. Ne pas respecter cette directive peut entraîner des situations imprévues.
SÉCURITÉ DU LIEU DE TRA VAIL
• S’assurer que les enfants et les curieux se trouvent à une bonne distance au moment d’utiliser le laser vertical. Entreposer le la­ser vertical électrique hors de la portée des enfants et interdire à quiconque de l’utiliser si la personne ne connaît pas bien le produit ou les instructions.
• Éviter les environnements dangereux. Ne pas
exposer l’unité à la pluie ou à la neige et ne pas l’utiliser dans un endroit humide ou mouillé. Ne pas utiliser l’unité dans un endroit propice aux explosions (fumées gazeuses, poussières ou matériaux infl ammables); l’insertion ou le retrait de la batterie pourrait alors créer des étincelles, ce qui risque de causer un incendie.
SÉCURITÉ INDIVIDUELLE
• Rester vigilant, se concentrer sur son tra­vail et faire preuve de bon sens au moment d’utiliser le laser vertical. Ne pas utiliser cet appareil en cas de fatigue ou sous l’infl uence de l’alcool, de drogues ou de médicaments.
Un moment d’inattention pendant l’utilisation de ce produit peut résulter en une blessure grave.
• Ne pas travailler hors de portée. Se tenir bien
campé et en équilibre en tout temps. Cela
permet un meilleur contrôle en cas d’imprévus.
UTILISATION ET ENTRETIEN
DE LA BATTERIE
• Le laser vertical convient à une tension de
12 V c.c. seulement. Utiliser uniquement les
batteries appropriées de marque MILWAUKEE. L’utilisation de toute autre batterie peut créer un risque de blessures et d’incendie.
• Retirer la batterie avant l’entreposage. En­treposer le produit dans un endroit frais et sec. Ne pas l’entreposer dans des endroits où
la température peut dépasser 50 °C (120 °F) par exemple, un endroit exposé directement à la lumière du soleil, un véhicule ou une construction en métal pendant l’été.
• Ne recharger la batterie qu’avec le chargeur spécifi é par le fabricant. Un chargeur qui con-
vient à un type de batterie peut créer un risque d’incendie s’il est utilisé avec un autre type de batterie.
ENTRETIEN
• Confi er la réparation du laser vertical à un réparateur qualifi é qui utilise des pièces de rechange identiques aux pièces d’origine, ce
qui préservera la sûreté de l’outil.
• Ne pas désassembler le produit. Un remon­tage inapproprié peut résulter en un risque de décharge électrique ou d’incendie. En cas de dommage, confi er le produit à un centre de service MILWAUKEE.
