The 160T Fiber-Twist is an unshielded twisted pair (UTP) to single-mode fiber optic media
converter designed to interconnect standard LAN-based Ethernet ports at distances up to 4 km.
The unit features MiLAN’s LinkSentry™ Remote Sensing Technology, which enables the 160T to
pass through line failures when signals are lost, as well as looping back failures, in the event one
strand is damaged in a cable.
The 170T Fiber-Twist single-mode duplexer is UTP to single-mode fiber optic media converter. It
is designed to interconnect half- or full-duplex LAN-based Ethernet ports at recommended
distances of up to 15 km. The 160T and 170T convert Ethernet media without adding the delay
associated with repeaters and will not add to your repeater budget.
ST connectors are used for single-mode fiber optic cabling. A shielded RJ-45 connector is used
for the UTP 10BASE-T port.
