Installation Notes:
Install away from major heat sources.
Place on a flat surface that is level, strong and stable.
Do not stack the oven directly on top of another. Use a separate shelf or doubletiered stand.

1. Air Outlets
ese vents on the side and rear panels enable air which has been used to cool internal panels to escape. It will not allow microwave energy to escape into the environment. ey must be kept free from obstruction.
2. Oven Cavity
e cavity is construction mainly from stainless steel and vitreous enameled panel on the door. It must be kept clean (see CLEANING).
3. Convection Fan
e fan draws air over the heating elements and into the cavity over the edges of the rear baffle plate, producing perfect heat distribution for combination cooking. e metal grill covering the fan must be kept clean and free of debris (See CLEANING).
4. Air Inlet Filters (Left & Right)
Situated at the left and right hand side of the base at the front. ese are part of the ventilation system and must be kept free of obstruction and cleaned on a daily basis.
5. Door Handle
is is a rigid bar which is pulled downwards and towards you to open.
6. Control Panel
See section on control panel.
7. ON/OFF Switch
When switched ON, the control panel will illuminate. e fan and ventilation system will also operate.
8. Rating Plate
Found on the rear panel, this states the serial number, model type, electrical specification and Garland’s address and telephone number.
9. Door
is is a precision-made energy barrier with three microwave safety interlocks. It must be kept clean (see CLEANING section). e door should NOT be used to support heavy dishes.

10. Door Seals
ese ensure a tight seal around the door. ey should be kept clean and checked regularly for signs of damage. At the first sign of wear they should be replaced by a Garland approved Service Agent.
11. Temperature Sensor
is monitors the temperature inside the oven. Care should be taken when cleaning to prevent damage.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Precautions To Avoid Possible Exposure To Excessive Microwave Energy.
a) Do not attempt to operate this oven with the
door open since open-door operation can result in harmful exposure to microwave energy. It is important not to defeat or tamper with the safety interlocks.
b) Do not place any object between the oven front
face and the door or allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.
c) Do not operate the oven if it is damaged. It is
particularly important that the oven door close properly and that there is no damage to the (1) door (bent) (2) hinges and latches (broken or loosened) (3) door seals and sealing surfaces.
d) e oven should not be adjusted or repaired by
anyone except properly qualified service personnel.
Important Safety Instructions
Please read the following safety instructions carefully.
12. Steam Vent (on rear of oven)
is enables steam to escape and prevent build up of condensation. It will not allow microwave energy to escape.
13. External Steam Outlet (on rear of oven)
Allows steam from the interior of the oven to escape.
1. Read all instructions before using the appliance.
2. Read and follow the specific “PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY” found above.
3. is appliance must be grounded. Connect only to a properly grounded outlet. See “GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS” found in the installation section.
4. Install or locate this appliance only in accordance with the provided installation instructions.
5. Some products such as whole eggs and sealed containers – for example, closed jars – may explode and should not be heated in this oven.
6. Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in the manual. Do not use corrosive chemicals or vapors in this appliance. is type of oven is specifically designed to heat, cook or dry food. It is not designed for industrial or laboratory use.
7. is appliance should not be used by children.
When using electrical appliances basic safety precautions should be followed.
WARNING To reduce the risk of burns, electric shock, fire, injury to persons, or exposure to excessive microwave energy:
8. Do not operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, or if it has been damaged or dropped.

11. Do not store this appliance outdoors. Do not use this product near water – for example near a kitchen sink, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool, and the lake.
12. Do not immerse the cord or plug in water.
13. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
14. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter.
15. When cleaning surfaces of door and oven that comes together on closing the door, use only mild non-abrasive soaps, or detergents applied with a sponge or soft cloth.See also cleaning instructions for oven cavity and door.

Proper Utensils
IMPORTANT Garland Mealstream Series  oven will accommodate / size bun/sheet pans. e Mealstream  oven offers operators the flexibility of three heating functions; microwave only, convection only, and combination cooking.
Combination cooking enables high quality results to be achieved in a fraction of the time taken by conventional cooking, particularly when baking, browning, roasting, grilling or producing gratinee dishes.
Once established, precise instructions for combination or convection cooking of selected items may be programmed into the ovens memory so that they can be repeated easily and accurately.
Multi-Stage Programming
e Mealstream  offers even greater flexibility by allowing multi-stage programming. is enables the exact conditions required for quality results to be set according to the food type.
is is only one example of an infinite number of possible multi-stage programs that can be created and stored. Programs can have one, two, or three stages.
NOTE: Remember convection temperature takes time to change. Do not expect an instant response when a different temperature is activated.
Routine Care
e instructions outlined in this guide are intended to ensure the safety and long life of your Mealstram oven.
Your new equipment should be given regular care and maintenance. Periodic inspections by your dealer or a qualified service agency are recommended.
Garland/U.S. Range products are not approved or authorized for home or residential use, but are intended for commercial applications only. Garland / U.S. Range will not provide service, warranty, maintenance or support of any kind other than in commercial applications.
A typical -stage program is shown. e Oven is preheated at °F. Stage  begins by applying a gentle microwave power of % (ideal for defrosting) while the convection temperature rises to °F. In Stage  the microwave power increases to maximum (%). In the final, browning stage the convection temperature is increased to °F with no microwave energy applied.
Rating Plate
When corresponding with the factory or your local authorized factory service center regarding service problems or replacement parts, be sure to refer to the particular unit by the correct model number (including the prefix and suffix letters and numbers) and the warranty serial number. e rating plate affixed to the unit contains this information.
Before attempting the electrical connection, the rating pate should be checked to ensure that the unit’s electrical characteristics and the supply characteristics agree.
