MIST CYCLE
The Mist Cycle is an advanced feature that repeatedly starts and stops watering
during the watering cycle. This allows more water to soak in and less to run
off. This can greatly increase the efficiency of your watering.
9
The Mist Cycle options include the following.
NO= There is no mist cycle.
2 min = The timer waters for two minutes, stops for ten minutes, then repeats
5 min = The timer waters for five minutes, stops for ten minutes, then repeats
10 min= The timer waters for ten minutes, stops for ten minutes, then repeats
15 min= The timer waters for 15 minutes, stops for ten minutes, then repeats
When will the watering begin?
The schedule begins as soon as you complete the programming. However, the
Aqua Timer™will only begin watering at a specified start time.
Example A:
If you program your timer at 9:00 a.m. to water daily from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00
a.m., the timer will begin watering the following morning at 8:00 a.m., the next
specified start time.
Example B:
If you program your timer at 6:00 a.m. to water daily from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00
a.m., the timer will begin watering that morning at 8:00 a.m., the next specified
start time.

another purpose, there is no need to remove the timer from the faucet. Just

To return to auto mode, press the TIMER ON/OFF key. The disabled program
will resume but the valve will not open again until the next scheduled start time.
™
The Melnor Aqua Timer
Model 3060 has a built in safety feature to prevent the
valve from being left open, either accidentally or intentionally. If the timer is placed in
manual mode and the valve is opened, it will close automatically after 30 minutes.
If you would like to alter this time limit, please use the follow procedure.
1. In either AUTO or MANUAL mode, while holding the TIMER ON/OFF key,
hold the SETUP key for two seconds. The words SETUP MANUAL will
appear and a time value will begin flashing.
2. Using the LEFTand RIGHT CURSORkeys, adjust this value and then
press ACCEPT.
You can adjust the value to as little as 0 (0:00) and as much as three hours and
59 minutes (3:59). If you set this value to 0, manual valve operation will be disabled. This is useful as protection from misuse.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Q If it’s going to rain, can I prevent the timer from watering?
A Yes. Press the TIMER ON/OFF key to place the timer in manual mode.
No schedules will be run until you press the TIMER ON/OFF key again.
This will place the timer back in auto mode. The unit will begin watering
with the next scheduled start time.
2. Q Why do my pipes bang when the water shuts off?
A This is called a “water hammer.” The addition of a short piece of hose
between the timer and the faucet should eliminate this problem.
3. Q While creating a watering schedule, the unit suddenly returned to auto
mode. Why?
A This will happen if no keys are pressed for a period of 45 seconds.
4. Q Can I delete a program?
A While you can’t specifically delete a program, you can save a new
program in its place.
