Basic operation
The 2-chamber bean container (2) enables the use of two dierent types of coee. Auto BeanSelect ensures that the best coee beans are automatically selected for various coee specialities. Espresso-based beverages take their coee beans from left bean chamber 1(34), Café Crème-based beverages take them from right bean chamber 2(35).
The following table shows the assignment of the bean chambers to the coee beverages. These settings can be changed (see chapter6.2 Changing default settings on page79).

1. Open the lid of the 2-chamber bean container(2).
2. Fill Espresso beans into left bean chamber 1(34) and Café Crème beans into the right bean chamber 2 (35).
3. Close the lid of the 2-chamber bean container.
4. The "BEANSELECT" button (29) can be used to select a bean type prior to preparation (see chapter Changing beverage settings before prepara- tion on page76).
Information
ū The grinder is emptied during each grinding process. Nevertheless,
minimal coee type mixing may occur.
ū Grinding when empty causes a dierent type of noise and is normal.
4.5 Using ground coee
Ground coee may also be used to prepare coee beverages.
ATTENTION
The use of unsuitable types of coee can lead to clogging of the brewing unit.
 Do not use any instant products.  Fill a maximum of one coee spoon of ground coee into the ground
coee chute.

Information
ū Two-cup dispensing is not possible when using ground coee. ū If no coee is prepared within 3 minutes of opening the ground coee
chute, the appliance switches to operation with coee beans and the ground coee is discharged into the coee grounds container.
4.6 Filling with water
Only use fresh, cold water without carbon dioxide for optimum coee enjoyment. Change the water daily.
Basic operation
ENGLISH
Information
The quality of the water largely determines the avour of the coee. Therefore, use a water lter (see chapter9.8 Setting the water hardness on page96 and chapter9.9 Using a water lter on page97).

Information
The appliance requests you to empty the drip tray and the coee grounds container after a dened number of beverages have been dispensed. If the containers are emptied while the appliance is switched o, it does not register this process. Therefore, it is possible that you are requested to empty the containers although the drip tray and the coee grounds container are not yet full.
5 Preparing beverages
There are three options for preparing beverages:
ū Standard dispensing with direct keys and beverage preparation with
recipes as described below
ū Preparation with modied beverage settings (see chapter6 Permanently
changing beverage settings on page78)
ū Use of personal settings with the "My Coee" function (see chapter7
Personal settings – "MyCoee" on page80)
Standard dispensing is described in this chapter.
Note:
ū The storage containers should contain sucient amounts of coee and
water. If the lling level is too low, the appliance requests you to rell it.
ū The appliance does not indicate a lack of milk. ū The vessels for the beverages should be suciently large (see table
