Primary Unit Model Codes that Pertain: 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 Additional Codes that pertain: 06, 09, 12, 16, 17, 49
Codes 19 and 20 determine the base section. Code 19 refers to the Return Air Plenum, and determines if the unit has bottom return air (Code 19= B*), back return air (Code 19= H*), or side return air (Code 19= S*). A Plenum is required for any outdoor air application with an Economizer (Code 20= D*, E*, F*, G*, H*, J*). The only case in which a Plenum is not required is when a 100% outdoor air Damper and Hood are ordered (Code 20= AE, AY).
Codes 21, 22, and 23 determine the Return Air Fan, Motor, and Drive components. These codes only pertain to units with a 0- 100% Economizer (Code 20= D*, E*, F*, G*, H*, J*). Fan section parts, Fan Wheels, and Motors are listed in this section. Drive components such as Fan Sheaves, Motor Sheaves, V-Belts, and Bushings (if
required) are not listed as they are unique to the unit. If a drive component is needed use the number from the part and cross reference it with the Cross Reference: Drive Components Form number: 571006, or contact Daikin McQuay Parts to ensure that the required part(s) are correctly identified. Fan Motors range from 3- 60
horsepower, and the Fan Wheel is a 44” single width Airfoil (AFSW).
Code 24 indicates whether the unit is equipped with Exhaust Fans with or without an Exhaust Hood.
Code 06 determines the panels used in final cabinet assembly (Return Air units only). For sheet metal components
that make up the Outdoor Air/Return Air/Economizer Section, contact Daikin McQuay Parts to ensure that correct liners, insulation and hardware are ordered.
Code 09, unit voltage, is part of the Motor part number identification.
Code 12, the control system, comes into play when an Economizer is present by modulating airflow through the unit.
If Code 16= 1 or 3 a Smoke Detector is present in the Return Air Section.
Code 17 determines if the unit has auxiliary controls such as Enthalpy Control, Freezstats, Phase Failure, Ground Fault, Line Reactors, or UV Lights.
Code 49 determines if the Return Air Fan has a Fan Belt Guard and/or a Cabinet Light. If Code 49= D, the Return Air Section has a Fan Belt Guard. If C49= E the Return Air Section has a Cabinet Light. Code 49= F indicates both options have been selected.
Section A pertains to the RPE and RDE, but not the RCE.

Code 03 determines the Cooling Coil size. If Code 03= S there is a small face area Coil (24” section for unit sizes 076 thru 100C, or normally a 48” section for unit size 110C although some units may have a 24” section installed). If Code 03= L it is a large face area Coil (48” section for unit sizes 076 thru 100C, or 24/48” for unit sizes 110C thru 150C). Small face area Coils are not available on 130 thru 150C unit sizes.
Code 27 determines the characteristics of Section D. If Code 27= YYYY, there is no Section. For RPE units this indicates that the Cooling Coil is in the Blow-Thru position (see Section I); RDE units (typical RDE unit shown in the above diagram) always have a section D. If the code is CYYY or CYYS then there is a unit Cooling Coil and Drain Pan. An “S” in the fourth position means the Drain Pan is stainless steel. A “Y” in the fourth position indicates that the Drain Pan is made of painted galvanized steel.
Code 28 will apply only if Code 27= CYYY or CYYS, and determines the Cooling Coil characteristics.

Code 31 determines Fan size, type, and mounting method. RPE units can have a 33”, 36”, or 40” Airfoil or Forward Curved Wheel. If the unit is equipped with a Forward Curved Wheel (Code 31= **F* or **M*) contact Daikin McQuay Parts so that the required part(s) can be identified. RDE units can have either a 44” or a 49” Airfoil Wheel. Digit four of Code 31 indicates the Fan Mounting type. If digit four is a 1 the unit has Rubber-In-Shear (RIS) isolators. If digit four is a 2 the unit has Spring Isolators. If digit four is 3 the unit has Spring Isolators with Seismic Snubbers.
Code 32 determines the Fan Motor horsepower and type. Fan Motors range from 5.0- 75 horsepower. Note that 75 horsepower Motors are NOT available in 208V (Code 09= 12) or 230V (Code 09= 29).
Code 33 determines the Drive Components selected. Drive components such as Fan Sheaves, Motor Sheaves,
V-Belts, and Bushings (if required) are not listed as they are unique to the unit. If a drive component is needed use the number from the part and cross reference it with the Cross Reference: Drive Components form number: 571006, or contact Daikin McQuay Parts to ensure that the required part(s) are correctly identified.
Code 04 and Code 34 determine the heat type, which can affect the final assembly part numbers, the location of the discharge plenum, as well as the section installed controls.
Code 06 determines the liners and insulation, and will affect the final assembly panels. For sheet metal components
that make up the Supply Air Section, contact Daikin McQuay Parts to ensure that correct liners, insulation and hardware are ordered. For standard Access Door Hardware part numbers see Section H.
Code 08 determines the location of the unit’s main control box. RDE units with no Blow-Thru Section have their Main Control Boxes in the Supply Air Section.
Codes 14 & 15 determine if the unit has Inverter(s) and if so where they are installed. If Code 14= 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 the Inverter(s) are installed in the Supply Air Section. If Code 14= 1, 2, or 4 AND Code 26= S, there is a separate Inverter Section. If Code 14= Y, there are no factory supplied inverters. Code 15 references which Inverter vendor was selected. All components pertaining to the Supply and Return Air Inverter(s) are listed in this section.
For Condenser Fan (Speedtrol) Inverters refer to the Controls Section (Section N).
Code 40 determines the Discharge Plenum configuration. RDE units always have the Discharge Plenum located in Section F. If Code 40= BE, there is an Isolation Damper with Actuator ACT5. The Isolation Damper is detailed in the Discharge Plenum Section (Section K).
Code 49 determines if the Supply Air Section has a Fan Belt Guard and/or a Cabinet Section Light. If Code 49= A, C, D, or F the Supply Air Fan is equipped with a Belt Guard. If Code 49= B, C, E, or F the Supply Air Cabinet is equipped with a Cabinet Section Light.
Section F pertains to the RPE and RDE, but not the RCE.

Code 04 determines what type of heat, if any, the unit employs, and Code 34 defines the Heat Section’s characteristics. If Code 04= Y, and Code 34= YYYYYY there is no section. See the Unit Model Number- Complete section at the beginning of this form for specific Heat Section definitions. If Code 04= Y AND Code 34= BBBBBB, then there is a 48” Blank Spacer Section installed. Section G is divided into four subsections: 1. Blank Access; 2. HW/Steam Heat;
3. Electric Heat; and 4. Gas Heat.
Code 06 determines the liners and insulation, and will affect the final assembly panels. For sheet metal components
that make up the Supply Air Section, contact Daikin McQuay Parts to ensure that correct liners, insulation and hardware are ordered. For standard Access Door Hardware part numbers see Section H.
Code 07 is the Gas Heat Burner Approval Code and affects many of the parts in the Gas Heat Section depending on whether the unit is UL approved (USA) or ETL approved (Canada).
Code 08 determines which generation of controls are installed which determines which Electric Heat Controls are used.
Code 09 determines the Unit Voltage, which will have an effect on the Electric Heaters and their Controls.
Code 12 determines the Control type and will affect the Gas Heat Actuator Motor.
Code 31 is the Supply Fan size which affects the Heat Section’s Diffusers.
Section G pertains to the RPE, but not the RCS or RDE.
